Full Version: Importing Icons & Pictures

All right. The other day, I used Paint to divide this image:

Into smaller icons so that I could use them in RMXP.

Now I realize that by doing so, I wasted my time. I can't make the icons transparent in RPG Maker XP because:

1) Transparent "white" will screw a lot of images with white in them
and
2) Trying to change the background to another colour screws the edges of the icons, so it looks sloppy and badly made

Now I'm using CS4 to do it, and it's taking a long time. Surely there is a faster way to divide images and save each portion as its own unique image?

If not, does anyone have the posted icon set in smaller images that they could let me download :s? I've already done this three times in the past, and difficulties (i.e. computer blew up; data corrupted; etc.) has pushed me to need to do it a FOURTH time a year later, in which I forgot Paint won't retain the transparent background.

Side-Note:

How do you import pre-made animations? I like VX's animations and when I try to copy them into RMXP, it looks a) funky, or b ) it takes years.

i saved it then imported it and the background seemed to default to transparent. didn't test extensively. most of those would work fine with a white background. i would suggest simply dividing them and importing, see how each one is, then you can edit the few that need it. which should be easy in cs4, i have photoshop 7 and can magic wand select most backgrounds that need changing.
i have maybe 1/4 of those, if you want me to send them over

and animations. save the graphics, then open both programs and mass-copy the number of animations in the database, then paste them in xp, i did this for some of the magic animations.

Thanks... if you could send me the graphics yoou have in a .RAR, that'd be great. I'm neglecting my project because the idea of redoing them all bothers me ):
