When I trying to add some japanese kanji symbols into my game it all turns into (?????).
If I write it in a script it turns to ???. If I write it in the story script it turns to ???.
Why does it do that.

Because RMXP runs in UTF-8 and RMVX in UTF-16. If you want to write japanese in RMXP (or any Unicode character), you have to use the UmePlus Gothic font.

I believe that font comes with RPG Maker XP and is the default font.

If that was the case I wouldn't be asking would I.
Forgot to tell you... it only works in-game. If you want to display japanese characters in the editor, you have to set your regional parameters as japanese.

You don't import a font; you install it by copying it in the Windows/Fonts directory.
