I've been pretty bored lately, so I've tried taking to composing and I think I'm pretty good. I know that constructive criticism will prove me wrong on that point..or will it? Tell me what you think of the following tracks.

Listened to all, and I have to say great tracks.
The second track I'd describe more as reflective than cave, but overall wink.gif .

First one's pretty nice; maybe use a bit more reverb/echo on the harp background; overall, not bad.
Second one's a lot nicer; better for long dungeons or maybe an emotional moment.
Third's not as good as a dungeon theme; if you could maybe add a few tracks worth of instruments/maybe a bass, it would make a nice battle theme for a cave.
Fourth's actually works rather well if the hero would die a peaceful death at the end or something. However, I think it may be a little too pleasant and in the major key to work out as a generic game over.

All in all, you're a pretty good composer. Keep on making em'. biggrin.gif

A cave maybe:The beginning is good so far. Oooh, fancy. The choir, I expected an octave of another harp somewhere around the 1:00 area.
Still good. Finished, feels like it could use another instrument, not sure what...but it's nice. Good job.

Foggy cave upper: (I honestly thought it was Froggy.) Another good one so far, hmm, sounds like it could use a little more bass to it somewhere in the middle to build up the climax. I keep expecting that. That would've been pretty good. But still nice.

Foggy Depths: The kick in the beginning sounded a bit off. Afterward, it gets better. It was ok. No complaints.

Gameover: This sounds like a hopeful dream. I can't imagine this being a Gameover. But, that's my opinion.

Not bad at all, keep up the good work!

I like em, they have sort of like..a retro-y feel, kind of like final fantasy or lunar music.

This is another piece...I think it would work well as a final dungeon theme, chasing the bad guy through the basement of a tower or something. It's based on "A Cave, Maybe", which I've upgraded to game theme instead of dungeon theme. So think of that song as the title screen, and this song as the final dungeon theme.

If anyone could help with the ending, I think it ends and loops poorly compared to my other works..

and if someone could make a tutorial on how to STOP COMPOSING IN D MINOR DAMMIT. Thank you.

New one.

Any comments on this one? It's in C Minor. Not D Minor. I BROKE MY HABIT YAY

The Mirror Mire: Sounds good so far, it's sort of repetitive. (which is not a problem) it's still good...sounds like there should be a voice, not literally, but as in voice, I mean, for example, an instrument or melody that stands out and speaks for the songs and carries its flow.
The harp sounded very nice at the end but ended way too quickly. Above all, it's nice.

I know about the repetitiveness problem, but with less iterations of the melody it sounded like it ended too quickly. The harp sounds much better when you listen to it on repeat IMO, it sort of bridges the loop.

Did you see the final dungeon piece I had a post above the one I just made? I mean, just asking thumbsup.gif
Paradelous
Yeah, I listened just now. It sounds good, no problems really. The beat just sounds technoish. But that's alright. It's your style and that's all it matters.

woo another one

I like it, though I transposed it to G Minor from D minor because I have far too many D Minor pieces so far and they're starting to sound alike to me
Paradelous
For some reason this song reminded me of Pinocchio on the super nintendo. Haha. Which is a good thing.
Actually, now that's been mentioned.

You've got that beat going on. Haha. Don't take this into offense, I actually mean this in a good way. This song made me sad when I was a kid. Haha.
Gamesfreak13563
Oh look another dungeon theme.

This sounds good no doubt, but only thing is, I lack to see the vision of a dungeon.
I'd visualize and feel a strong, dark underground prison, with devilish sounds and such.
But good work.

More. This time in C.
