You are too modest, good sir. Your work is simply breathtaking. I really loved Fenrir's artwork. Excellent job!
You have talent. Lots of it.

This is stupendous. Not sure what else to say, every artist have their own unique way of art and vision.
I can see yours in the first two, the rest same but it's a little where I can see in others in similarity, but regardless, absolutely great. I'd even make some requests for my project but yeah.
I don't have patients to sit down and focus on my art, I gave up and have some abandoned ones.
Keep up the great work, wish to see more from you.

Thanks for dropping by.
Yeah I"ve noticed my art style is really sporadic. I've branched off into so many different sub-art forms/techniques that it's hard for me to choose I guess lol.

I don't know where to begin, your arts awesome.
You should do a tutorial some time

that would be really cool
My personal fave is that last one you posted, the sky looks amazing

That's MUCH better than a lot of those professionals who boast about their work!
The colouring is just....... perfect? Fenrir is my favourite by far, though they're all amazing.
Drawing I'm OK at at but I find this stuff impossible

oh wait

That is absolutely... Just plain awesome
... What is speed painting?
Hirei
Apr 8 2010, 07:15 AM
Basically you use a reference picture and draw from it as fast as you can. That's a speed paint for me. Normally they are not refined. I will do a tutorial soon.

Yeah I'll probably put it up of the speedpaint I did on Ji Ah since I have the screenshots.
One of the earliest semi-realism i did back last year...
and here's a really rough overview of how I did Lee Ji Ah's portrait:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OQU3JB384 main steps are
-Base - Lay down base colors
-Color layer - Lay down shades
-Shape -Shape your features
-Blend - Blend it all
If you have any specific questions let me know.

@Sparrow: Actually I don't know the exact gender of the painting...many say it's an it.
@Username?: I'm flattered

Edited my post above with images of the powerpoint I used while doing a demo.
Here's Fenrir's WIP so you can see how I layered my colors.
And this is a quick landscape speedpaint, no reference

Apr 11 2010, 04:13 PM
Yeah, some of your art IS lacking, but you really are much better than you give yourself credit for. And it's harder to spot the mistakes in your more recent works (and even some of the older).
Don't be so hard on yourself. You'll get there.

Apr 11 2010, 04:34 PM
Well it's easier for myself to be harder cause it'll just motivate me to work more XD..........plus it's really embarrassing when you say OMG THIS IS MY MOST AMAZING WORK, and people point out tons of mistakes.

I've seen people praise art that looks like it was done by kindergardeners. This is nothing new.
However, when I praise your work, you can be sure I mean it and that I'm not just being nice. If I tell you your work is good, it's because it IS good.

I know
exactly what you're talking about, Abo. The work that I've seen ( which is just plain shit, sorry, had to say it) and still getting extravagant praise for it makes me want to vomit. They have no standards when it comes to art. And this isn't aimed at anyone at RRR, so don't take it personally.
Hirei, your work is simply gorgoeous. And you're only 18!!

I visited your Deviant art account. Amazing stuff. Keep it up. And don't be too hard on yourself. I've seen
farworse. Much worse.

Wow, you must be blessed with infinite patience.

That's what art teaches me, since patience is a virtue I have yet to learn. Btw, can you perhaps post some tuts on how you do your shading work? And can you draw like the legendary Tetsuya Nomura (FF character designer) ? Because I'm trying to emulate his style. Well... almost.
Hirei
Apr 13 2010, 10:35 AM
I can't really emulate Tetsuya's style I'm afraid.
Besides it's best to create a unique style of your own. Don't you think

Do you use a drawing pad for the comp or do you scan it then color it?

I actually use a drawing pad/tablet. But in reality pencil/paper has the best control imo. Tablet is best for coloring.
