Full Version: VX wants me to pay... AGAIN?

Hello all. I hope I can get some help on this, as it's become very annoying. I've owned my copy of VX since I paid for it in May 2008. I never used any kind of keygen/crack/etc. on it. Recently however, every time I boot up VX it says:

"Failed to acquire a trial serial number from the nTitles server."

When I click ok, the program terminates. I have managed to get around it by accessing the internet from a browser at the same time VX opens, but it has gotten worse and worse, and now is asking me to buy the program again when I open it. I can't reinstall VX, because I no longer have the serial number to confirm it. By the way, I have always used this copy of VX on this computer, and I have not changed anything on the computer which would cause an issue.

Any suggestions?

This happened to me a few times, you could try searching for your serial in your Registry. I would tell you the location of it but I cannot find it now, so you will have to get help on that. Otherwise contact Enterbrain support, they might help you out.

Thanks for the tip. I don't know why I didn't think of searching through my registry... That's a good idea.
If I can't find it there, I'll go after a keygen. Thanks again.

There is no such thing as a legal keygen, plus these are often full of viruses.

Contact Enterbrain direct if you want a failsafe and legal solution to a problem.

I did not say there is a legal one nor did I link to a one. But I said it's same as with movie backups if you own it you can have it. I was not saying to him to do that, that was as a last resort.

From what I have heard you would want to contact Protexis rather than Enterbrain about the issue.
They manage the license system after all. I have heard about a bunch getting help from them after loosing their serial.

@Speed:
It's not the same.
While it may be legal for him to circumvent the protection it is definitely not legal to download a keygen.

*hugs*
