First i will try to apologize because my english is not that good i'm from Argentina so i talk spanish, anyway i did this script trying to post it here in english communities i hope you could understand the instrucctions i've included in the demo.
Ultimate System is a Work In Progress(slow progress to be honest) enviroment for RPG Maker VX that tryes to replicate and make better some of the most known scripts.
This system includes:
* Time System[minutes; hours; day phases; days; weeks; months; seasons ;years]
- Day and Night Addon
- Dynamic shadows addon
- Dynamic lights addon
- Time to Variables addon
* Dynamic Shadows
* Dynamic Lights [individual switch; autoswitch; auto shadow generator]
* Water and Mirror Reflect BETA [based on tiles id no configuration yet just rtp tiles]
* Dynamic Fogs[predefined fog; in game fog modification]
* Auto Weather System BETA[pre cofig]

the instrucctions are pretty simple i added them all to the demo.

hope you like it please report all bugs and troubles you got with this.

Known Issues
this is not an error, well it is for the public demo but not in the code, in house of lights, there is and oldman that each time you talk him the game crashes but is just that i forgotten to delete it before uploading the demo i was trying something for a new feature

This is an excellent script; I love the player shadows in particular. However, I think it would be a lot better if there was a way to decrease lag...
(Though it's perfectly fine if it isn't.)

Okay, sorry about that. I was just really impressed by these scripts and the overall ingenious compilation. I guess I used a very much lesser-known exclamation of amazement. Sorry again. Let me reword that.

This is not a compilation i have made each script in the system ask every scripter that made a similar script to read the code and you'll know that all of this is new(ok ok the tone formule for day/night its from rataime... he is just amazing!, and i took the bulletxt Thomas Edison config)

There is a problem with the whole light-shadow thing.

When you have two light-sources, you have two shadows. When you have 8 light-sources, you have 8 shadows. That's is not possible, maybe there is a way to fix this? (I haven't seen any shadow-script that actually fixed it, though. But that would make this script unique)

what you mean...? That is not an issue, it's normal.
Did you see soccer games on tv? when they use the 4 lights in the corners you can see 4 shadows in each player... i mean more sources mean more shadows... like in real wold. I can't take this like a bug report

I am very happy to hear that at first I was afraid and besides as I made the mistake of uploading the demo with the terrible mistake of lag and i thought no one would interest anymore

now here is an little update, this version fix the reflects in events that are into the water like rocks or stuff like that

Oh, I was talking about compilation in the way of "a group of". So, I meant it as a group of your scripts. Sorry about that (crimeny, I'm usually more cogent than this).

don't worry hoopsnake, by the way if somebody wants a new feature feel free to ask, im not like a god or something but i can try to add nice stuff(try to request stuff that i can make xD im not like trickster or sephirothspwan)

@Slifer644: I know how to do the BGM stuff but i'm thinking about it... in first place you can change it with events so that seems to be easier for lot of rpg maker users than config the BGM in the script editor. So im still thinking about adding that function.

i have the same trouble with the mousie stuff what do you think or maybe i have to ask what do you want, mouse movement or not?
"mousie stuff or not that is the question" , im starting to think about adding something like extended tilewall (do somebody know that script?)
well i'll wait for some comments to know if i add or not that stuff

Is there a way I could implement some of these features separately? I really like the player shadows, reflections and lights, but I can't necessarily implement a Day/Night system in every game. This is a really cool script, so I'd like to be able to use it.

yes you can, just config the day night... in the config module to be disable in all the maps ^^

hmm ... dunno. but is that a known issue?
I have following problem;

I've put this script and all requirements into my game. Then every time I push the enter button a window appear with my gamename as title with this message:
"7
1792"
Dunno what this is. After that I tested the demo, same here.

I'm having an issue, too...ever since I copied this script, my game crashes whenever I try to load a save. I noticed the same thing happens in the demo.

I don't think the new version got rid of deadmatter's error, but I know how to fix it...
  1. Open up the script editor, and go to the AcidBird Scene_Map addon. (Not the actual Scene_Map; you won't find anything there.)
  2. Delete all the code from line 4 to line 11; that is, all this:

And then add "end" to the end of the script. Your final script should look like this:

Just in case any of you wanted to know...

EDIT:: Oh, and I've been getting an error when I use the "Tint Screen" event command. The floor tiles of my house dim, but the wall tiles don't (There are various other problems as well). Can anyone help me? (Sorry; can't post a screenshot.)

how to add hours? every time I join with other scripts, hour and day / night does not always match ..

please, can you add the system clock?

yes,

And how to accelerate the time when player go sleep. so when player wake up, time set in 6 oclock at next day.
or when player touch the event, player will be sent in 3 days after player touch it event
i mean :now time is day 1, when player click the event, player will be sent to day after it (day 2).

Hey, i have a problem.
i take this script into my game but wen i start this game this error is show:
@shadows.push(Sprite_Sun.new($game_player, @shadow_viewport))
is search and i have found this in the Sprite_Sun.abc:
fix = ($game_time.hours * 360.0) + (15 * $game_time.total_minutes) / 60.0
that is the mistake.. how can i fix that??

By "Various other Problems", I was talking about some weird issues with the lighting of various objects, such as tables and bookshelves. In other words, you can ignore the clause.

Hey Chronno could you possibly make an easier way to set the indoor maps, like adding a tag to the map's name or something.
I have alot of maps and don't know how to find my mp ids, so if you do thank you! biggrin.gif

Sorry for double posting, but never mind. I found out where the map id was located, so I'm fine now.

I'm sorry about no posting in all this time, but I have to study and I havent lot of time, i'm thinking on make a big code rewrite for the ultimate system with lot of new stuff, faster, better and probably i'll make a kind of configuration soft to make easier the script config.
I don't know how much time i'll need to do all the stuff because I have not much free time.
I won't be able to solve issues right now but if you find bug's or something keep posting them that information will be usefull in the script rewrite.

I wonder is there a way to make this compatible with the "Caterpillar System?" I mean like giving the "following characters" also have shadows. Thanks in advance!

The Demo looks great, but, when I installed it into my game I get a tremendous amount of lag.

A large number of light and shadow effects will always do that, I'm afraid. If you can find a compatible antilag script, it might help, or try to run the game in high priority. Legacy made a snippet for that: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index....showtopic=49312 (should work for VX too).
You can also create a batch file (name it Game.bat) with this content:

Hopefully this could help reduce the lag a little.
