I want to add a new parameter so that my characters can use a certain tech in battle that takes up that parameter instead of MP. Can someone help me?

You can do it with the skill calling a common event that uses variables to decide if they have enough of the parameter. If you want to actually display the new parameter in the menu and battle scene, then you have to script that in.
