Full Version: HeroMachine?

I tried this thing to make my own battlers, the HeroMachine, and tried to use it because I can't make my own or find them because almost all of my character sprites are original.

It's pretty resourceful and everything, but I must say I'm not in love with the style, so to speak.

I tried to draw them and they weren't bad, but I can't coulour them in the PC, and paiting them by hand most likely would not give a great result.

Now my question.

If you see all the battlers made in HeroMachine in a game, will you be turned off by them. Do you like their style?

If most responses don't like it, I guess I'll just have to risk paiting them by hand.

Thank you.

Well, Hero Machine was never designed as a battler maker; it was designed for making cool superheroes. Although I think that Hero Machine would work well for, say, a futuristic or superhero-based game, it wouldn't work in a stereotypical RPG.

That said, you could totally use these in a game, and most people wouldn't get too badly turned off by them, so as long as you use a somewhat similar art style for the tilesets and (especially) battlebacks. Otherwise, it would be rather ugly and unprofessional.

Oh, and I think this should probably be moved to Game Theory and Design. Just a suggestion.

Oddly enough, your answer, Ben, was exactly what I wanted to hear, cause I hate them. i'll do them by hand.

Goddamn, I'll try as enough as it takes to make them work.

Well, what do they look like currently? If you wanted, if you can scan the hand drawn battlers, I can try to touch them up in Photoshop for you.

Just a thought ^^ And umm... the HeroMachine guys ....they're ugly. ^^
