I MAY have surpassed my permitted quota for questions for the week, but I'll ask anyway, incase some of you are bored smile.gif

I made my first animation last night. It works great in the test box, and when I run a test battle everything looks perfect. However as soon as I add a battle background, the animation suddenly looks as though its being "added" (similar to with map fogs or pictures). What I basically mean is that the colors because much brighter and faded out. After playing around a bit, I noticed it was doing the same thing with other animations.

I'm not sure if a script I'm using has somehow effected the way my animations work with a battle background. Has anyone had this issue before, and if so, how did they fix it?

Thanks for any advice!

Hmm, i've never had this problem ever, not in the 6 years of using RMXP. I'm thinking it's a script problem, maybe something messing with the defualts, custom battle system? or something like that.

If you can think back to when you first noticed it, and what scripts you added during that time that may have cuased that then please post the names here.

Heither that or post the names of the scripts here. Anotherway of determining the cuases is to see if this happens in a fresh project. then keep adding the scripts to the project untill the problem starts again, thus limiting the problem to just a few scripts.

Off the top of my head i think it's gonna be messing around with the "Game_ "'s scripts.

It's normal. By default the Alpha Blending is set on positive. You just have to change it to "Normal".

Yep it does the same thing with a fresh project, so I don't believe it's a scripting problem. The animation looks completely fine on a solid black background though.

How would I change the alpha blending?
Callista
Use Cell Batch on your animation to change the blending on every frame to "Normal".

That worked!

Thanks so much for your help guys! I'm not really sure why the default is set to 'add', but I'm glad I got this resolved.
