The image DinShambles posted is only an 8 color image. Here is one I did using 32 colors. I will draw the emblem on his chest and shoulders at a later date.
This is the same character with a sword in a hilt on his back. I will edit this post with a different picture for $Actor_86.png as soon as I figure out how the hilt would look like from the side. I'm still learning.
And here is the icon for the sword. It is 24x24 pixels, the same as all other icons in VX. The original can be found in the Iconset.png made by Kaduki however this image has been slightly modified.

As Chibichan said, the sword icon was taken from Kaduki's Iconset.png and modified only slightly. The blade has been lengthened and a blue gem was added to the end of the handle.
The character sprite was generated at Famitsu - Credit: Chibi Kyaratsukuru. I recolored the hair from •blue to •brown and gave the eyes more detail.
Currently "my work" mostly consists of editing existing images but I hope one day to do them from scratch. Everybody starts somewhere.
