Have you guys ever thought of a new theme for RRR? Like a red version or something? Maybe green? I think some of these would look really cool

Although the blue scheme is cliche among RMing communities, I really like this theme. Consistency wins.
But I DO think the 'Banned' badge could be updated to a newer style, like the 'Team Black' badge, just with a brighter shade of black.

The blue matches the banner and the main site theme ...we have to be co ordinated...lol

Well you could just photoshop it to be a bright neon pink, but not sure that would go over well........ =)

If you made the pink more red, i would use that definitely. I love the blue theme no doubt, but im kinda the sorta person who changes thing constantly. i think the only thing that doesn't get changed is the avatar. So illl be changing themes every week lol

Actually, I like having the ability to change the layout to whatever color I would desire. I would personally love to have a silver layout, because it would look pretty cool --- or, black!!! This is something you guys should think about actually... Maybe for certain members per-say?

We did this on hbgames.org - and... lemme see...

9 chose a classic theme (old forum theme)
3 chose an even more classic theme
3 chose a red recolour of the original theme
1 chose a hallowe'en theme
1 chose a "h4xx0r" theme

38,946 stuck with the default theme

In other words, while it may just be that the themes suck or something, who knows, even though it was made simple to change themes (a dropdown menu in the footer) and there were several to choose from, almost everybody on the forums kept with the default theme.

Worth it? I dunno. Depends if you want to please those 17 members, or if you want to keep it simple to do plugins an theme edits.

If it involves recolors and slight modifications, I could help out. I've got too much time on my hands, so it'll be no problem.

I would like to suggest that maybe by creating two color schemes for the layout of the site... Since members can choose which theme of the site they want to view as shown in the lower portion of the whole site in the drop down bar... Maybe that would have solved it... We can still have the blue theme without it being changed... I know this stuff because I know how this forum works in the inside even though I'm not a staff member... Since this is a IPB powered board I'm sure it has the features of multiple themes for its members... But the problem is if the staff and higher officials of RRR except for the owners of RRR have the power to modify the theme according to there likes... Anyways... The blue theme has remained so even after it became this suddenly bright ( I mean it was darker before as some of us could remember ) but the thing is, Maybe its just already to common and a little change and variety is what other members like... I still like the blue theme of course... It's still classy and stylish in the bit least...

I personally tend to agree with Wyatt's observations.

We have always been this colour and it is easy on the eye, but we do take note of member suggestions ..

I like this theme. It's simple, doesn't distract me, and the words/fonts are all easy to see and read. There's no need to change it.

Well if that is so... Anyways I'm not aiming in changing the blue theme... I was just suggesting another theme to be added for those members who wish variety... Anyways that's all that I have to say...

Just like Flip said, I could also do a few re-colors of the original blue so it could be more... Red? Silver? Green? Barf-Yellow? You name it I'll do it.

And Wyatt is probably right. One theme is good for all users. Maybe some are just too lazy to change it? Maybe they've gotten used to it (as most of us have)?

From what I see on here, there are 6 users that would want a different theme.

Maybe just a simple thing that makes it so that [b]Revolutionary[b] members can switch out the images for their own, and then have a little box that gives the option to reset everything back to normal. That would be freaking awesome.

I really like that idea (It's something I might try on hb) - add some custom profile fields for "catbg" "titlebg" "background" "logo" etc and let the forum members switch them out at will. It could work. It would let people have their ideal themes without being restricted by what's online at the moment.

Also, I just found a new Firefox addon that lets you modify the theme of websites and replace it with new ones called Stylish. People could make them for RRR and then post them on the forums, which would be pretty cool.
