I'll put a strategy in a spoiler box
spoiler
Each rat only acts after it takes damage, but its only action is to explode. Avoid group damage spells at all costs. Only kill a few each round, and heal up after. I'd wait to move on until you're fully healed and there's only one rat left, that way you go into the next battle with minimal damage.
Good luck!

I just got through the Forgotten Crypt and, again, I am in awe of your ingenuity with buttons and switches. However, I have a question about the flow of the game. I went through the Azriad Sewers before I went through the Grotto and some other places. Now I am on the Exodus and wonder if I can go back after that and finish some other things or if I should go to an earlier save. How about it?

Congratulations on making it so far. Take care of anything you wanted to take care of before moving on from the sewers, so if you have one you can reload an earlier save. Have fun.

Did you really have to put a timer in the Grotto? I got through a lot of rooms but am in the one with the switches behind the bushes. How exactly am I supposed to deal with that? I'll put the clues in a spoiler below
clues
1. It is not necessary to complete the Grotto...in fact everything other than the path you took through the sewers toward the Exodus, is optional.
2. The pattern on the floor is the clue needed to proceed through the room above it.
3. The position of each number in the book corresponds to the position of the button. The number in the top right corner tells you when the top right button should be pushed.
Good luck.

You haven't missed anything. The rails continue the path that the soldiers take with the Etherum, but it is inaccessible to the player. I'll tell you how to get there in the spoiler below.

Go to the chamber lit only by Fidese's light, where all the small moving platforms and switches are. Take a platform over to the far left side, then the platform up, then keep heading right on the platforms until you find a ladder leading down. Good luck =).

I know I should have made a note of this but I wonder if there is any Item Shop that sells Lifeforce? Or any particular place where the villains either drop it or I can burgle it. I think I found all of the in chests and whatnot but I find I used them too indiscriminately and now that jerk Naarxoth has me wishing I had more that two of them. There are only a limited number of lifeforce potions in the world, but I can lead you to some if you haven't already found them...

Talk to Merelida at the Apothecary item shop in Relna.
Land on the small island in the middle of Naivaka, just slightly southwest of the Thymetian Complex with the sneaking guards and almost due north from Mt. Phoenix. Then walk near the palm tree.
Take the boat from Faergrad down and hug the coast. You'll come to a small inlet with a forested island. Dock and walk around until you find a clearing.
There was a dead bush you can burn in Eborill. There is a lifeforce behind the wall below it.
Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas!
tactics
Definitely use Efflora. She has the group elemental resistances which are extremely useful, and she can also cast the group defense buff. Syndarion with Force and Trux are probably your best damage dealers. And Fidese would round out the party for me. You could also replace Syndarion with Armegmus and use his infuse ability for faster but smaller damage. If Naarxoth uses the 0 AP all ability and you don't have any lifeforce, you can use elixirs on the most important characters like Fidese and Syndarion. The others' AP is probably not as valuable. Did you complete Solus' list and get the Omniguard? I would put that on Fidese.
Good luck.

Congratulations on completing the game! I've really enjoyed hearing about your progress throughout, and pretty sad that I won't be needing to check on this forum as often (unless there are others playing out there =). Your compliments mean a great deal, and I'm happy you enjoyed it, evil and all. I'll be sure to let you know if I start working on and finish another project.
On a side note...
I wanted to let you and everyone else know that I've created a "Manifest" page on facebook. If you're playing or have played the game and enjoyed it, I'd love for you to check out the site. Sharing the page is a great way to share the game with anyone who might enjoy it. Spread the love this holiday season.
Well, I signed on with your Facebook page so will see any updates that way. I can't believe that there aren't other people playing the game. I really liked the ending, too. Maybe you should rename it to "Manifest - A Cautionary Tale". :-)

Hi again, Finally got to play the game again (first time since Xmas day). The torn parchment reads fine now. I have no idea why it crashed the game the first time but after resetting my computer it worked.
I do have another problem now though. For the Marwin quest. How do you kill the tree? Fire and Holy magic doesn't seem to do anything, so it can't be that....do I need to be a specific level or is it an item?
Thanks again.

It shouldn't be a problem, this is the first time I've heard of this happening. You can try redownloading the game and copying your save files over, or if need be, you can just avoid the warehouse. Again, I'm not sure why it's happening and I'm sorry it is, but I hope it works out. Thanks for playing Manifest.

Hello! Its a great game i'm close to the end of the game i'm doing the optional quests right now. I have a question
Theres a mansion kind of thing on the west in the forest. First puzzle was classic its done. But the second theres a sign which tells me that which button is which color but i just cant figure out the order and i dont know where can i find a clue for it.
Im finished with the 8 keystone quest it was great and a hard battle at the end but i only used 1 Lifeforce which ive got back so nothings gone waste
Something to discuss:D : And i prefer Armegmus Syndariel Val and Fidese in my team Armegmus is just because hes the main character i just dont like the idea to leave him behind and hes good damage dealer also and has a big vareity of spells but thats my opinion Syndariel is unbeatable with the Supernova really useful spell though it takes 110 Ap but its worth it for me First Val wasnt too sympathic to me (maybe because i love animals and i preferred Trux for that ) but on the arena event i used her and she prooved that shes very good with merciless ability she deals 5-7k damage which is quite good and she also has abilities which can stun/paralyze etc.. the enemy which comes in handy most of the time Fidese is the ultimate healer really nothing to say without her the party is doomed for sure!

Hi Chefpapa! Thanks so much for playing Manifest, and for the feedback/compliments. I liked hearing about your preferred party and why you enjoyed playing with the characters that you do. If you keep going on with the main story you'll come to a point where you'll have access to the green area with the sealed door. I'll put a hint to the 2nd puzzle in a spoiler below...

The colors tell you the order of the switches and are based on the spectrum of visible light (like a prism or rainbow). If you're not sure of the order, I can give you further information, just let me know.

Thank you! I thought if i go in to Azriad then its time for final battle but yes i went to Azriad and i went to the Grotto as well phew that was hard 2 seconds left when i reached the last door! But i've made and i've made it through the color puzzle thanks to you! I was on a different logic like the first letter of the colors name in alphabetic order or something But actually 2 of my main questions then left unanswered Because i was looking for Solus's ingredients and for that flower it says west from Dragnon on an island or sg like this and for the last thing it says where its always rains guess its around the forest near the Orzrak tower thats why i thought it will be the Grotto. Oh and one other thing it just came to my thoughts that Naivaka i think that was the place with the smith guy near to the town there is this oasis kind of thing with turtles So there is one guy who talks about his girlfriend and while i was playing the game i totally forgotten his issue and i cant remember where can i find his girlfriend or is it possible to find her or is it too late now?

Really loving the game so far. But I seem to be experiencing a lot of bugs. The game crashes randomly many times when I try to access the 'items menu' mostly and I toggle through the 'key items' 'special items' 'goods' etc. Sometimes, the crashes happen when I choose some item. (it has happened while choosing tonics, bridle and even the torn parchment)
While I was doing the 'collect 8 logs to build a bridge' at Doolig the game crashed as I was trying to use the items menu to get my characters a 'tonic' and I had to do the whole Nayvika seeds/ log thing again. If I hadn't been enjoying the game so darn much, I'd have given up on that point. This shows just how much I'm liking the game, hence the frustration. Right now I'm at the point after the Gauntlet thing.
Unfortunately I can't even save the game as a precaution before I need to access the items menu, as you have disabled the 'saving anywhere' feature. (Sigh.. I really don't get it why 99% of game creators do that)
Also the game crashes 100% time if I choose to 'reload' from F12. Something about 'stack level too deep' and an error related to stairs (even if I've not accessed any stairs) I actually don't mind the second error, but the 'items menu' crashes are really frustrating me.
I have Windows XP SP2, the RMVX rtp properly installed and enough RAM in my computer to play 'The Sims 3'. So I don't think the problem is at my end. I also have the latest version of the game, which I downloaded a week ago.
So, please help.

@Chefpapa - It's not too late to find her, she lives in Dagron. For the island where it's always raining...check your world map for a small isolated island that you probably haven't visited yet.
@firelira - Thanks for trying Manifest. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it, despite the problems you are having. The f12 error is a script related problem, and the only solution is to not use the f12 reset key. The other game crashes you are having are not game/script errors, and are unique to you. I'm not sure if it's you're machine or if something went wrong with your download, but I would try redownloading the game and carrying over your save files. Hopefully that clears it up...please let me know how it goes.
EDIT: I just realized that Madalex made a post similar to yours a few posts above, and it sounds like it had something to do with his computer. (Maybe just restarting it would be enough?)

Thank you for the prompt reply. I read what Mafalex's problem was. But mine is different in the sense as he always experienced crashes while reading the parchment. But not with anything else. First time I accessed the torn note after I got it, the game crashed. But after I restarted the game I could access it fine the next few times. But then again it crashed in the sandy area.
In my case these just happen randomly. Twice with the parchment, a couple of times it happened with a tonic, the bridle or elixirs. Could it be that pressing the 'Esc' key 2-3 times in succession while selecting items and then returning to the game triggers it?
I've browsed though the topic and I'm the only person with the problem unfortunately. I'm trying to avoid using the items menu, when there isn't a 'save point' nearby and trying to heal the hp/ap of the characters only during fights. But that's a bit inconvenient. The problem also happens after I've just started the computer and no other programs are running. I've also tried replacing the RGSS202E.dll from other RMVX games which work fine, but no luck.
Btw, I'm at the part just after getting the lockpick. I must thank and congratulate you for making such a wonderful game with beautifully developed characters. Quality wise this game is so much better than many commercial games, which are full of graphic glitches and spelling mistakes. I have not found a single spelling/grammar error in your writing! The Matron's quote "Our forgiveness is as much a gift we give ourselves.." was wonderful! Most other games unfortunately have shallow characters and dull writing.
I'm truly loving the characters. Vellamik's lines always make me smile and I really love Trux both as a character and as a party member, though all he says is "bark" Also, Armegmus and Fidesse who have shown surprising inner strength. Somehow, I don't like Val at all. Even after hearing her backstory my heart hasn't softened too much for her. Wish Armegmus wouldn't go gaga over her.
I really wish I could find a way to solve the 'item menu' crashing problem as I'm really getting tense if I don't find a 'save point' in a long time. (I wish you hadn't disabled saving). Also, thank you for giving an option to customize ATB and an option to fight the guards at the mansion outside Doolig. It would have been impossible to sneak past them.

Actually i cant even remember what was the last single player game which took me more than 30 hrs. Maybe the Final fantasy games or Shining Force on Sega but on pc eerrr... I know theres loads of rpg games in a style like this but none of them had this special feeling like this game has i just cant describe it you have to play it to know it! Really addicting in a good way! I hope i will be able to play with the second episode (or with some expansion) with noticable characters from the first one!
One thing left...to share it on facebook!
By the way did you ever think about showing this game to somekind of sponsor or anything? I mean not about money but it could be a famous game!

Hi Sbethune81,
Unfortunately, using the X button didn't solve the problem. I resorted to uninstalling the VX rtp. The crashing has become less (but not zero) after that. It has only crashed twice after I uninstalled the RTP. Can't figure out how that would be related. I'm currently living with the problem for the sake of this wonderful game I'm just avoiding using the item menu if not near a save point.
I've come quite far into the game now. But, I'm having trouble with the "black ball rolling on the red buttons" puzzle in the Ordune. Even if I press all the red buttons before the timer runs out, the door doesn't open and I'm having to fight with the metallic monsters again and again when time is up. What am I missing?

Hello, I can't think of why it would crash when going to the item menu, and it kills me that it's doing that to you. Thank you for pressing on. I'll put the answer to your question in a spoiler below...

That puzzle you're talking about has a hidden button down at the bottom of the room, obscured from view by the lower wall (each room has 8 buttons).
Good luck, and thanks for the continued feedback.
@Chefpapa - Congratulations on beating Manifest. It made me really happy to read your post. Thank you for the kind words...I will let you know if I work on/finish anything else in the future.

Hello Sbethune81,
Thank you for your prompt replies. This is a great game, so I'm pressing on eagerly to reach the conclusion.
I'm just about to enter the sewers and am doing the remaining side-quests on the way. Completed the Titans of Ospes and the Grotto (with a lot of help from hubby) But we're both completely stuck in the second puzzle in the Cave of the Recluse west of Azrigad. Even after reading the note, we can't figure out how to keep all the torches blue. Is that what is to be done. Or are we in the wrong track? Any tips and strategies.
As for the error I'm getting, I'll post a picture.
This particular error appeared when I was selecting the Bridle. I've also included the tiny window in the image, which appears when I select "For more information click here" I can't make heads or tails of the error signature.

@firelira - That is a strange error report...I wish I knew what was causing it. As for your question on the puzzle, I'll put a strategy in a spoiler below

You'll need some time to arrange the angled blocks in an infinite loop while the orb is flying around. To give you enough time, start by pushing the two sets of blocks to the opposite far sides of the room. Then make sure one of the blocks is lined up with the pedestal that shoots the orbs. Once it hits that pedestal you'll have to move it back into a loop with the other three, and then slowly push the four blocks back toward the torches while the orb is traveling between them. I hope this makes sense, let me know if you're still stuck.
Good luck. Hope you enjoy the ending.

Hi there! Playing the game again after the long weekend. I just have a few last things to complete before entering the final dungeon. But I'm having a bit of a problem:
I'm trying to collect materials for the Omniguard and am having real difficulty getting the "Gorlark Talons". The characters have all gained at least 10 levels fighting the Gorlarks (dinosaur type things) in the Onyx mountains, but no luck. Even Vellamik's stealing doesn't work.(He always steals money). I didn't have any difficulty getting any of the other things like Ptarex feather. Could this be some sort of bug?

It sounds like a case of really bad luck.

Do you have the Crimson gloves or Vellamik's ultimate armor? Both increase the odds of stealing items rather than Etherum. But even if you don't have either, you should still have a good shot of getting the talons by stealing. I'd recommend that once you find one or a set of Gorlarks, that you guard with everyone but Vellamik, so you won't have to find them randomly multiple times.
Glad to hear you're back at it, and here's to some good luck ahead.

Just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that I've updated the game to reflect any small bug and glitch fixes that I've made over the last few months. I don't foresee having to release another version after this, as the few bugs that remained should now be weeded out. You can find the most recent version here:
