Haha! Hi, wildwind. I think you're thinking of a different site (rpgmakervx.net). There my game has 16 pages. Here: three.
But to answer your question, that was a mistake on my part. I'd changed Balrame Bridge and added that gate, but I forgot that people already playing wouldn't have already unlocked it at the start of their journey since there was no gate there yet. Yikes. I'll update the download so that you (and everyone else who started playing before I added that gate) can get through it. Sorry!
I'm not sure how much to give away. There are two major plot twists that would ruin the story for anyone who would eventually want to play it. Would you want to watch Sixth Sense for the first time if you had read about that plot twist ahead of time? So I won't tell you the plot twists, but just the superficial front of the story.
The main character is an ordinary guy from our world, but one morning he awakens in a tower in a magical pre-Renaissance island kingdom. He discovers he is part of a prophecy and is to help the recently returned prince conquer the source of evil that has overrun the land.
But all is not as it seems. On their journey they discover bit by bit that the quest they are on is more complicated and more full of intrigue than they could have imagined. Are they who the people tell them they are? Are they even where they seem to be? The ending will be a shock and a surprise.
Want an inkling of the plot twists? Want to ruin the story for yourself? Be warned. Don't click below.
Tyrin: (age unknown) from our world. Tyrin is not his real name, but that's what people call him here. He had little experience in swordplay in our world, but on waking in Lorewyn is exceedingly skilled. Mia says that this is because Swordplay is his Ability. He's contemporary and sarcastic and is pretty sure this is all just a dream. As he levels up, he learns "skills" related to Swordplay.
Mia: (early twenties) an Elemantal Mage who was assigned to Tyrin's Tower. She's bubbly and nice and fresh from training, so is eager to prove herself and her magic.
Baeon: (age unknown) the prince of Lorewyn. There are several strange facts about him. Firstly, no one knew Lorewyn had a prince. But the king reveals that Baeon's mother had concealed her pregnancy and ran away to birth him in secrecy. Unfortunately, Baeon was found unconscious today, remembering nothing of his past. His Ability is vast Strength. But this is useless to him as he is completely unskilled in weaponry. He's much more interested in spell casting, but lacks proficiency in anything but basic curative magic.
Syler: (early twenties) a young man from a noble family. His sister Sylea is thought to have been abducted by Radasol. He was too lazy and disintersted in training in weaponry or magic, so his quest in finding and freeing his sister is proving difficult.
Yasian: (quite elderly) an old forgetful mage who might turn out to be none of those things.
Sylea: (early twenties) a very skilled archer from a noble family with super eyesight as her Ability. She and her brother have more in common than either knew and will enjoy.

Ok here comes my very hateful remarks about this game. LOL JK.
Anyways. The game is different from what I've played before. I love the fact that you use your own music instead of recycling it from games or RPG Xp(like I did ) Your game has a lot of potential as well. I did find most of the maps to be lacking design, too straight forward and empty. The battles are fun, but most of them lack any strategy, basically just mashing the attack button. On the story side, its rather an unique idea, but as your progress through the game, it lacks all the details, conversations, and whatnot that backs it up, pretty much making in essence the first Final Fantasy. I won't comment on monster graphics, because not every one can make them. Negatives aside, I thought you could do a lot more with the story. It just seems so empty to me.

Thanks for the awesome (and thorough) feedback! You're right in saying that it is a bit sparse in terms of cutscenes and the like. I've noticed that myself and have gone back in and placed in a lot more.
It turns out I ADDED a bug by changing some of the autoruns to parallel runs. All fixed now!

Sorry to necropost, but this is a really fun game. Gratz, i just got to the runic tower in about one hour, and now i am stuck on floor 10. I have beaten the fire, water and wind orbs and i think i know the location of the earth orb. But i am also guessing that these are optional sidebosses and not needed to continue, one of the stairs leads to a room with a save point and a chest. the others also contain chests and the wind orb, The version of the game is "The lore of lorewyn 2.2.2g", is this a bug? and is my current save file compatable with the new versions??

As for the Runic Tower, those bosses are necessary. You must defeat four of them to activate the transporter back on the first floor.
Have fun!

I just got up to the dark fortress, Radasol used *SPOILER* as a ploy to obtain *SPOILER* was a good plot twist. But beaon has lines, even if he "Goes missing" at the campsite.
Story spoiler
Drake went down with honor.
Great... Now i'm stuck getting this darn magic bean. The guard won't let me into the castle, or let me show the music box to him, how do i get the bean? And i can't open the ice tower.

I'm glad you liked those bits! They're some of my favorites as well.
As for the answer to your question. It's a tricky "puzzle." Without giving it completely away... If the Lorian guard will not admit anyone but Lorians inside the castle, is there a way to fool him?

I'm sorry it took me half of a month to get back to you. I've been forgetting to make the rounds and check up on my game on the various sites it's on.
If you've found your way inside the secret passage, it should be very simple to navigate through. But maybe you're instead having difficulty finding the secret passage? Mia should be able to vanquish the fire in the fireplace.

Thanks, i'm playing as i'm posting this. If needs be i have triple layering on my Monitor that lets me change the settings of layers. I'll just make the top layer to see where i'm going.
edit: Triple layering did nothing >_< I need to find a map of this doshdarn secret tunnel. a little tip, make tyrin visible in the next release, it would help massively to see where i acctually am.

Hmmm. It shouldn't be that tricky. However, I do know that in a much older version one of the tiles involved in the secret passage was set to not passable, so could that be it? is the screen not scrolling with you as you move? If that's the case, simply download the current version found on the site: TriangleHard
and copy/paste your save file into that version and all should be well.
Also, I'd like to congratulate myself on the 1,000th download of this current version of the game! That number shocks and appalls me!

To celebrate the 3000th download, I created a revamped version with many, many things improved from mapping to enemy balance to graphics to music.

Yeah, I forgot to check the filesize, the new version was too big for the regular encryptor/extractor.
I've uploaded a version which will extract fully.

Thank you, man. I appreciate it!
However I found a bug. :/ Ugh. While trying to cut down on the file size of the game I saw that I had three identical copies of the item get theme. No idea why. so I deleted the other two that seemed to be extras... Whoops.
Well, I'll just hunt through the game and redirect them all to the same piece of music, but in the meantime you can either copy/paste "itemnew" in the Audio folder and rename the new copy as "itemnew1" or you can download a copy here: http://www.mediafire.com/?g2xdg28ccugvom8 and place that in your Audio folder.
sorry!

If anybody is wondering, it's under the ME folder of Audio that this should go.

And another bug was found due to a "hilarious" mistake on my part while remapping something. Before you get to the Runic Tower, you should download the current version available from the download link and move your save file into that one. Well, actually, even if you've already been to the Runic Tower and saved, you're still able to use that same save file with the updated version.
ugh. sorry. but also in the process of fixing that I too the time to fix two things that have always annoyed me about my game since the beginning, so , that's good, I guess. Let me know if you can guess what they are.

Ok, maybe I'm the only one with this problem but while I was talking to the red-headed chick at the very beginning of the game she says come here after talking about the dream and then the game crashes and says Anti-lag script stack level too deep.
Not sure why it's doing this but I can't get past the beginning because of this.

Odd. I'll test it but I haven't heard anything from anyone else with this issue. :/ I might suggest downloading a fresh copy and seeing if that fixes it. I'll let you know if I also have an issue when testing that.

Alright I tried it three times but it did it every time so I'm not sure what the problem is. Are there random encounters in this game or can you see the enemies?

I apologize for my less than speedy reply. I'm not super active on this forum, unfortunately. I'm much more active at the sister/cousin/whatever site.
But anyway, yes, battles are random.
And there's a new version posted so I'd try downloading that one.

RPGUnmaker found an embarrassing bug that no one in the thousands of downloads ever bothered reporting to me, so I fixed that and also updated some graphics and other minor things that have bugged me but I had been too lazy to fix.
Posted a trailer for the game on the first page.

So I just managed to finish this one up tonight. Quite a long game, and an impressive feat to pull off as a one-man team (in spite of the help you probably had with all the resources). The story really stands out here as near commercial quality, as it's really very epic, well written, and full of interesting surprises and twists. The dungeon layouts were handled well, and even though the mapping could use a bit of a facelift in some areas, for the most part it was pretty decent.
The real big drag comes from the tedious battles, and the game balance. Near the beginning, the balance felt appropriate, but about halfway through they just became exceedingly difficult (in spite of the heavy grinding). What made it especially hard was that the battles ranged back and forth between easy and hard throughout the game, making it difficult to decide if it was just me being under-leveled or something else. The walkthrough found online made it clear that most enemies, including bosses, can be stunned or put to sleep, so in the end I just spammed these states to get through many of the battles.
Personally, I think if you were to take another look at the way the game is balanced, and increase higher XP/Gold and drop awards, the game will begin to balance out much better, and you'd have a pretty solid rpg.
Beyond that, though, as I've stated above, this is a pretty clever game.
Is "The Mundane Prince" that this game is based on a story you are writing or have written? I tried finding out more about it online, but could not.
