So many bugs, hey so could anyone explain how to setup the Hamachi. When I tried it on a previous version, it didn't work.

Also how did you guys do it? When I try Switches it still doesn't work. It just keeps restarting when I exit the game.

I got it setup with Hamachi ^.^

1 Download Hamachi

2 Install Hamachi

3 Go into Hamachi, click the little triangle thing in the bottom right corner and click Create a Network

4 So you've created your network. Move on to the next step.

5 Figure out what your hamachi ip is.

6 Go into RMVX scripts.

7 Go to the "Config" script.

8 On line 8, change it so it looks something like this

Host = ["(Hamachi IP here)", 50000]


9 Minimize RMVX.

10 Open the server window

11 Go to the server tab and put your Hamachi IP in the server Host spot.

12 Start your server

Once you're done with these steps, go check to see if it works. If it doesn't, check to see what you did wrong.

Is your Hamachi IP in all the proper places?
Is the SQL connecting properly?
Are you using the right client for the server?

Dont forget, if you want someone to play on your server they will need hamachi also and be logged in to the network Xzyzon told you to make or it wont connect.

Yeah, I forgot to add the part where if you want people to connect, they have to connect to your network by you giving them the pass and name to your network. xD.

Anyways, I'm currently testing to see if Hamachi works. I'm using 2 computers (a laptop and a desktop) with Hamachi. Soon I'll test if it works when a computer is not in your network. Sometimes it doesn't, so that's why I'm testing it ^.^

Self switches don't work for me too. When I use switches, no problems.

Odd, just tested the multiplayer function. A couple of bugs -
(Sorry for no pictures to explain better)
My laptop is the one hosting the server.
On the desktop, I can see the other perfectly fine. There's a glitch though when the other player walks. It takes about half a second for the player's movement to follow on the other screen. That's perfectly okay, except when the player moves and then turns around, it looks like on one screen that the player is walking backwards.
To sum it up, it looks like player1 is walking backwards to player2 when on player1's screen he's/she's just basically moving forward then turning around.

Another glitch. On player1's screen, Player1 can't see player2. But Player2 can see player1.
**That's without equipment on. With equipment on Player1 can see Player2**

Edit - Found another one while messing with the friend screen.
When player 2 asks to be Player1's friend, and Player1 says okay, Player2 doesn't show up in Player1's screen, but Player1 shows up in Player2's screen. And Player1 can keep continuously adding Player2 as a friend, but nothing happens.

Yeah that has happened before, maybe its the internet connection? Or just a buggy, annoying glitch. Tty using LAN (Local Area Network) if you were using Wireless.

It's probably just a glitch, cuz I *somewhat* fixed it. Unfortunately, PvP doesn't really work either. I'm testing it, and I miss every single time. Hit a combo of 5* several times with each being a miss.

Monsters are client-sided, unfortunately. They should be handled by the server. It looks odd when one player sees another player standing and talking on top of a ghost.

3rd glitch of the post. when someone talks on one map, the chat carries across all the maps, regardless of where you are or what commands you use.

Thatss pretty bad, so you mean when a character kills a ghost, it doesn't show its killed on the others screen?

Exactly. The monsters are all client-sided, but the flashes when the character gets hit from the monsters still show. Monsters look weird when they're being walked on by other things.

Yeah, That is because the ABS it´s still a beta.
Anyone here knows a bit of Netplay prograaming, I´m trying to make a turn based system...
I have the idea to how to make it but i need to change the DB, someune know how to change it?

A turn-based multiplayer game you mean? That might be accomplished. I know there's a game somewhere where several people can jump into a battle at once, but it's like a gauge sort of battle system. xD. It's from a website called Gods Of Time. The entering-battle system might be similar to what you're looking for, but I'm pretty sure the battle system itself is not.

And I don't know how to change DBs, sorry.

Ok I know, and not at alll...
Just imagine like rooms where the player sends data between data into each other...
That is basically a TUrn based battle system.
And yes God of war is one, but the one i like more its wonderland online ^^
That is an example of a turn based system.
For the demos, yeah vlad. you are too quick!

God of Time, not God of War. That's an entirely different game, and it's based on platforms that need a tv. I'm pretty sure computers don't need TVs (No, I do not classify a monitor as a TV)

Hmm, Version 1.0.5 I'll have to transfer my areas/maps/everything else. xD. Or do I just need to replace the Database and the Scripts? Will that work? lol

I discovered a bug in 1.05.
When you re-start the game the characters are deleted.
Maybe its only me, but it happend to me arround 4-5 times...
And before it doesn´t happened.
And yes sorry for the name...
Another Turn based game its called mith war if i'm not bad again.
@Xzygon: Tv's sorry vut i'm spanish and i didn´t understood...
...and yes it sould work if you remplace your maps. But my bug I want to know if it happends to someone else...

Here is a bunch of suggestions i gathered from my friends over at steam, im not sure how easy these would be for you. Im also sure some of it may be evented but for the people who use the area system it would be a bit harder. These also may be suggestions for Requiem 9.
Its mainly on the combat system.

1. Instead of having the enemys continue to walk around randomly after hitting you they should chase you.

2. Have the enemys that use skills be able to detect the amount of spaces the player is away before casting after they are hit. This would also have to divide the skills system into two differnet parts such as PASSIVE and COMBAT skills.

3. Allow enemys to use ranged attacks and have a type of graphic displayed for when they fire. This should also use a detect system.

4. Add a built in minimap where you press a key to display it such as m.

5. Re-enable the skills given to each class at different levels. At the moment it is only using one skill from the first class on the list. Such as warrior. Example of how it is at the moment:
Warrior level 1 skill - Fire
Tank level 1 skill - Armor Weaken
Player chooses tank as class - gets fire and not armor weaken

EDIT:
6. Add a "Home" system. When you die you will be teleported to this spot.

7. Have a rewards shop for those who made minigames. This shouldn't be too hard to make since you already made those other shops.
Instead of taking gold (or whatever the user set it as) instead it would take an item that the user defined via a .ini file.

8. Have Enemys be able to fight each other.
Example:
Enemy A is of a fire kingdom while Enemy B is of a Water kingdom. Enemy A sees Enemy B and follows after him. Enemy B turns around and sees enemy a and starts attacking him.
I got this idea from the XP script that is like this one.
Thats all, i personally would like to see #'s 2 and 3.

do you know how i can change the icon? I tried every tutorial and it still just wants to stay as requiems. But when i click properties it shows it as my new icon.

Wow, it looks like your building up a nice system there. Where did you get those nice icons? Also, could you make a Quest System for this game or a Journal/Mission Log?

Thanks vlad for the variable controls when a monster is killed.
I just finished a minigame that requires the player to kill a certain number of rebels before they will get a reward token.
Each time you complete it the amount will change (up to 150 rebels needed to kill) Working on a resource gathering minigame now.

@dan: Look In Scene_Loggin and look if somewhere says @window_(something).y = (value) and change the value.
Even for the title, i think you can move the screen with the bar as a window in the OS.
@michael: The icons are from kazuki´s page(http://usui.moo.jp/rpg_icon.html ) if i'm not wrong.
But I still have the same error, why my characters are deleted when I use 1.05 O.o?

Hey, I already said/found the friend bug and the chatbox bug Dan xD

@Robo -

This is a set of scripts to create an "Online" game using RMVX. It's a WIP (Work In Progress) so there's still apparently a lot of bugs, but I didn't need to tell you that. Basically, it's like an ultra advanced Netplay script that's not Netplay, but created by Vlad. I think I confused myself there unsure.gif
To sum it all up, it's scripts that can make an online game.

Dan did you ever solve this error? Im getting it too, i just upgraded to 1.0.5
Its also happening when im around monsters

Went back to 1.0.4 and used the 1.0.5 database file and the HUD Update - Works

over at Vampyr Coders Forum, someone has a project there working on that might have a Beta release soon. Other then that we can't count on that happening anytime soon.

this is cool got it to work with Hamatchi and was able to play online with my friend whos 400 miles away!

Good for you, but has anybody been able to setup without Hamachi (Including Connecting to people not in your network)?
Unfortunately, I'm not able to do so as I have trouble with my router opening ANY ports at all, and I have a Dynamic IP address.

how do you battle enemys with your friends or online players? Is it posable?

Im not using it yet but seams quite interesting.

The ABS is still in Beta.

The monsters appear differently from client to client, so it can't be called Global ABS yet.

This is looking great! But the problem is, I'm a total noob at this stuff

Failed to Start the Server!

I've been trying to get this working for an hour, i did exactly as the manual instructed, but maybe im doing things in the wrong order.

I've added the Database, gotten Hamachi, installed it, made my server, got my Hamachi IP in every slot, The Config File in the RPGVX Editor, the Apache server, set my port to 50000, I extracted phpinfo.zip in the appserv\www folder, changed the config.ini to that of the db, I have no idea what else to do. I've gotten SQLCE and installed it.

I'm just trying to get the basic thing working, and it always says, "Failed to start the server!"

Can anyone tell me what I'm foing wrong, or what order to do these things?

First of all, have you downloaded the latest version? Bugs and other things are fixed in later versions. So download the latest one 1.0.7, but keep updating it when new versions come out.
