This is really great stuff here!

I can see a number of possibilities here for these type events.

wow.

Nice Work!!!!!!!

thinking of using it in a Dark Cloud type way.

again great job.

demo could use a bit of work, maybe smaller scale so as to make the concept easier to see in action.

Okay. The mapping and the grammar in the demo is really abnormal BAD, but the idea behind it is great.

The only thing I can say this must be taken from one of the very special eventing tutorials from the old RM... This can be basically be done by using events, Even I need events mainly but their was once a tutorial in which you have the power to have your own headquarters and really your own house which in fact is made mainly by events and switches... The disadvantage of the old RM is that of the Local Switches... Your main Local switch is the Actual Switch itself making it also probable to affect other events that has the same on and off requirement which can make chaos...
beelzibub
I have been looking for something like this for a long time actually. I have been trying to figure out how to do this with events but have been repeatedly failiing miserably the only thing I have ever been able to successfully do is make it so you can buy a house but the upgrade thing that is cool thank you man this is really necessary and awsome thank you!
killerrin
okay im back after a long period of time i'll try to help anyone that needs help, and ill try to improve the demo

I've seen it, its okay and nice but it's really easy to do, you just need switches, it be more interesting
if the character can choose where to put furniture but I guess that would be hard right? Also, why did
you make the maps really big and ugly? I know it's a tutorial but you could of made a much better job
at mapping. Kinda okay but not a big whoop for me.

That would likely need a script.

Because mapping isn't important in an eventing tutorial. Do you REALLY need a candy-coated tutorial? That would be a waste of time.

Then don't use it. Simple as that.

To the creator of the tutorial. It looks decent, hopefully you'll take some time to integrate some new features into it in the future. Keep up the good work! ^.^

Hi guys,

I can run the demo but dont really understand how to buy and place it into the house (I dont really understand the instructions given in the player's house - what does it mean with the first page, second page and action button?). Anybody can help me please?

Here is the revised directions with proper punctuation and spelling, also a picture to help you with item events:

Ok. to make rooms you need two pages. the first page is completely blank and the second page is what you will work with when you make the items. The 2nd page is always triggered by the action button unless it is a staircase/ladder/teleporter event, or you need it for something like a cooking/fishing/minning/ event ect, or for a quest. Those you set to touch. if the 2nd page is a door event that appears after the person buys the house, set the door so it moves the character to the inside of the house. in the second page you can even add humourous items such as a bathroom or a lake in the house, if you wanted too. Its your house to create, use your imagination. when your done don't forget to click Apply and click Ok.

Here is the first page for purchaseable items that have not been bought yet. Notice how it is blank. thats because it has not been bought yet:

Here is the 2nd page for purchased items, that actually makes the item appear in game after it is bought. Make sure the correct switch is turned on for the item being bought:

Hopes this helps clear some things up.

Thanks for the reply Xeyla. Got it worked now though im not sure if it suppose to be like that. So after I bought the house and an addon to my house, I can see that once I bought it, it will display directly in the house without any more action required - which also means I cant change the position of the stuff that I bought. Is it actually the result will be like that or did i do any mistake? Actually I thought that once the item (bedroom pack 1) is bought, I can go to the house, pick the best spot for the bed and drop/display the bed there. Thanks
Xeyla
no, unfortunatly, you cannot move the items. you have to setup the event (that will turn into the items) where you want them to show.
Fearoftheunknown
It's an okay demo. I found the house was ridiculously huge, and that the items where a little bland.
The doors also all lead to the same place. For a demo it's ok. I'd suggest updating it more.
HeroOfHyla
Please provide more substance in your posts.
platipus
i'll have to agree on the people/person who said the mapping needs work to demonstrate it better. >.>
Otaku Son
I can't get any of the links to work. Is there a certain time of day/night mediafire shuts down its servers, or is it just because I'm on 56k?

Judging from xeyla's #14 post, it seems like this is similar to something I crafted with RM2k3 a while back, and was thinking to bring back in my VX game. I hope noone tries to accuse me of plagarizing this.
Xeyla
I dont think they will. Other people have figured out how to do this on their own, and this is not a script with someone's name in it.
Otaku Son
Uh, yeah... I finally got it downloaded (less than a meg; not too long on dial-up), took a look at it, and—bad mapping aside—was totally confused.

I'll just stick to doing this my way.
Despair From The Dark
Huh... that's a pretty cool idea. makes me wonder if there's a way to do this in XP as well. That would be pretty sweet.

yeah!! the links are dead
DespairReigns
We KNOW the links are dead. There's nothing that we can do about it unless this person is still active. Rather than making an excessively large quote, try taking a bit of the quote and replying to it instead, or even better, don't post at all and send the owner of this thread a PM and hope for a reply.
