Dark Gaia
I will look forward to it! But remember, we do have some rules, which I will tell you once the forum is up.
jskin
This looks really cool. i can't wait for the new demo to come out and I will dowload it quickly!

I guess I'm off to download some of your other stuff.
l33tpie 6
You'll have to wait quite some time like everyone else, unfortunately. Apparently Dark Gaia is getting alot of homework from school so he has barely any free time. I share his pain.
Dark Gaia
I'm very happy to announce that this weekend I have NO homework! Hopefully that means I can get some good solid work in and bring it closer to release.
demonlord5000
Sounds good, good luck with getting as much done as possible!
Dark Gaia
I'm even trying to devote as little time as possible to RRR so I can get in some work. I've got some more work in now, but as a result of having less done, I may make the demo shorter than planned, by about an hour.
Dark Gaia
Update:
The new Legionwood site has been totally revamped! Visit www.legionwood.tk today and join the official Legionwood discussion forums.
Dark Gaia
Update:

I have decided to make Legionwood a Culmulative Game. What this means, in short, is that instead of there being a DEMO then a FULL GAME after a long wait, there will now be new, culmulative versions released continuously until the game is complete. For example, the Legionwood Version 2.3 (Release on March 20th) will contain Chapters 1 and 2, and then the next version after that will contain Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4, and then the next version will add 5 and 6 and so on, until the game is complete. This way, you can keep up with Legionwood without having to wait very long.

Minimal changes will be made between these new chapter releases, so you will just copy your save file from the older versions to the newer ones to keep playing.

First Cumulative Release (Chapters 1 and 2, version 2.3) Release Date:

20th March, 2009.
l33tpie 6
Hmm, I like the sound of that. How long will the chapters be on average?
Dark Gaia
Well, remember the first demo? That ended about an hour off the end of the first chapter, so each chapter's about 3 -4 hours long.
paladin99706
Nice...
But I'll wait for the whole game so I don't have to restart all over again and again.

As I said, it's a cumulative game with no changes made between versions, thus you simply transfer your saves from one version to the next and continue from where you left off, you don't need to keep restarting.
Dark Gaia
Update: \

I'm running ahead of schedule at the moment with a full, interruption free day tomorrow to get a good 12 hours work in. Thus, the version 2.3 release may be out a week or so earlier than previously noted. (And beta testers get it a week before that too.)
Dark Gaia
FINAL UPDATE:

I have been very fortunate in that I have not been recieving much homework lately. I am hereby announcing a definate beta release date for Version 2.3 (Chapters 1 and 2) on Sunday, March 8th 2009.

Full release to the public will follow exactly seven days from that date, on Sunday, March 15th, 2009.
l33tpie 6
Sweet. I've been waiting for this. I'll hopefully be able to get through the whole demo on Sunday unless I get more assignments and revision but hopefully that won't happen.
demonlord5000
Four days till I get to find another 50 bugs =).The great demon is prepared to test at any time!
l33tpie 6
Heh, I still can't believe you found 50 bugs in my game. Pretty insane.

Aha. You will be foiled good sir. I recruited my friend Thomas to test this game as I worked on it. He has a bug finding skill on par with yours. But, still, anything you find will be good for me to know. Mainly I am using the beta testers not to find bugs, but to test the actual playability of the game, the difficulty, balance etc.
Dark Gaia
Well... It's the big day! Beta testers are being sent the first copies within the hour.

That means Legionwood's release is only a week away.
EvenAngels
I actually looked at this before, but my net connection wasn't working so I couldn't download the demo... However, if the release is only a week away, I'll wait for that! happy.gif

I'm sure you've heard this a lot already, but this really looks like an amazing game, and I can't wait to play it! happy.gif
l33tpie 6
Hey! You lied Gaia, you said they'd be out yesterday! You made me wait all day for nothing ;-; Just kidding, I can't wait for this demo.
Dark Gaia
Actually, l33t, I was saying the date relative to the USA time zone. I know for us it's Monday, but for them it is Sunday. Perhaps in the future I should put up release dates for each timezone?

P.S I'm gonna redo this thread in a minute in readiness for the release. The DOWNLOAD button will be disabled until next week of course.
Dark Gaia
Update:

The thread (initial presentation post) has now been updated in readiness for the new release. Feel free to take a look, but keep in mind that the download buttons have been disabled until the release. Old release has been removed.
l33tpie 6
Wow! This looks excellent! Now I really can't wait to test it out!
Dark Gaia
Update:

Mediafire went down HALFWAY through my upload, so I am restarting again on Megaupload. This will unfortunately delay the beta release a further 2 hours.
Dark Gaia
Okay! Beta versions have been sent out, and the countdown begins until the full public release! Yee hah!
l33tpie 6
Well, I'm close to an hour in but I have to stop playing now. The demo was much better, the battles were fewer but harder like you mentioned, the AP System was great, it made life much easier and the world map was much more interesting. I also noticed you left out Kaduki battlers in the demo. Anyways, overall, much better so far, I'm only up to Charn but I will get further. I'm off, night.
Hesufo
I guess I'll have some beta-testing fun, now.

I liked the Upperthorne Well's difficulty. I could easily beat it at levels 6-7 with Shock Bolts and stuff. :3

It was still risky, but not so much.

EDIT: What, I can't change the destination directory!

Bullshit. :<
l33tpie 6
So, I'm at the ruins in Burkewych when I notice that there are a few puzzles inside. So far I can't really make heads or tails of how to complete them, I've tried a few methods but to no avail. Hax pl0x Help please?

PS: I also noticed Sagitar's name on one of the graves, nice addition if I do say so myself.
Dark Gaia
Okay, here are the puzzle answers:

Puzzle with the two crystals
Simply push the crystals around so that they are on the tiles with the arrows facing the statue, but make sure that they have switched sides. For example the green crystal will go on the tile on the red crystal's side and so on.

The word riddle
The answer is the letter E. The beggining of End, the end of Middle and so on. Get it?

The number guessing
Simply note what Ark says and follow his suggestions until you guess the number, It's a number guessing game. Guess wrong five times and you face a foe.

P.S The Sagitar grave was reffering to the fact that I redid Legionwood to be better than Prophecy.
Dark Gaia
Good news:

Due to all encompassing school schedules beyond my control, I am forced to release Legionwood four days early!! Enjoy, and post whatever you think!

Update:

The beta testing thread has been closed due to the game's public release.
l33tpie 6
I went to download the new version but it still says its Legionwood 2.3 Beta. You not bothering to upload a new demo because there weren't any game breaker bugs?
Dark Gaia
Exactly. You did your job well and since you found none, there was no need to make a new demo.
l33tpie 6
Just finished it off, excellent demo. It retained all the qualities of Legionwood I love, and threw in some great new stuff, too. Nice cliff-hanger at the end, as well. I'll have to replay the demo and go through the sidequests. This has given me tons of ideas for my own game, thanks Dark Gaia!
t2thag
how do you get to this switch. ive tried so many ways. it is in the sewer in the upperthorne

[Show/Hide] help me
EvenAngels
Hi, I just wanted to say that, although I'm not very far, I really like this so far! Dark Gaia, you have done a very good job with this! happy.gif
Thnap
Hey, just downloaded this and I'm really enjoying it so far. It's very professional, and the storytelling seems to be paced absolutely perfectly. Good job. smile.gif

I've just come across a simple bug that caused me to reload my last save. Luckily it only meant replaying a minute and a half of gameplay, but I thought I would bring it to your attention. wink.gif

[Show/Hide] Details of the glitch. Excuse the minor spoilers.
I've just spoken to the Portmaster at Port Charn and been given permission to sail. I initiated dialogue with the sailor beside the stairs who told me I could pass, but I spoke to him from his left hand side. So when the time came for him to step left, his path was obstructed and the game froze.

It's only a small bug, but it's the type that can be easily missed. xD

(I'm extremely good at breaking games. I always take the unconventional route.)

I'm about to start playing again. I hope to finish the demo tonight. smile.gif
Dark Gaia
Thank you for reporting that. It will not be there in the Chapter 3/4 release. I'm glad you are enjoying it so far.

@EvenAngels: I saw your comment on RMVX.net. Thanks very much!

@t2thag: You can get to it by going around the canal and coming from the other side. You may need to press another switch first.
Seirno
I can't seem to find out how to get to that lever either. After the first lever was pushed, I spent about 20 minutes hitting Z on everything I possibly could in there and nothing worked. I'm just going to press on because I'm already level 9 after spending so much time in the sewers, so hopefully the key isn't that important. Great game so far though.
Dark Gaia
My sincere apologies go out to you all. After examing the map myself, I noticed it is IMPOSSIBLE to get to the switch because of an impassable tile in the way. Thus the dungeon can't be completed in the current version, though don't feel too bad as the reward you recieve is not actually used until Chapter 4 at least, so in the next version you can just go back and get it.
Dark Gaia
Update:

Kieara/Sakura Phoenix has very generously provided me with a lovely concept art of Liara which you can now see at the head of the initial post in this topic. Thanks very much to Kieara for a bringing Legionwood's most loved character to life!
l33tpie 6
Wow! That's some nice artwork there. You've got some great supporters.
Dark Gaia
Once I scrounge up some cash, more will be done for the other characters too.
mommabearx7
I have downloaded your game twice and both time there were no words. Can you help me?
demonlord5000
I take it, that it isn't installing the font, since the words aren't showing? If thats the case, you can probably find the font by right clicking on the legionwood shortcut, and then find target. I don't have legionwood in front of me, but if you can find the font your missing in there, then you can manually install it on your computer. Hope this helps.

If you can't find the font in there, then you will probably need to get it from gaia (I have alot of fonts, and I don't know the exact name of the font).

Edit: Just reread the main post, and the font name is BLACKCHA. Let me know if you can't find it, and I will send the font myself.

Thank you for your help. I found the BLACKCHA and copied it into the Font folder and then I had words and now I can play. Thanks again!

I am still having problems with this game. Now that I am in the game and can read the script, I am having trouble moving my characters. Inside the house they seem to move fine, but when I go out to the village I have to hit the arrow keys several time to get them to move and then when they finally move they go to far. Also there is hesitation when talking to people.
demonlord5000
Yeah, legionwood is a complex game. Did ya check the requirements for it? Your one of the few who can't run it without immense lag. My advice would be to install it on a better computer and play it there, assuming you have access to one.

System Requirments

* Windows 2000/XP/Vista
* 100 MB of Hard Disk Space
* DirectX v7.0 or later
* Pentium 200mhz equivalent or better, 1GB RAM, 4MB Video RAM
* DirectSound MP3 compatible sound card.

The gig of ram is very important for it to run.
