A world once whole, now torn apart. A great evil now wishes to bring the worlds together once again. If the worlds merge, both will fall to ruin, and all life will be turned to darkness.
Story
It had been years since Damian Ashling last had a dream of "her". Constantly haunted in his youth by dreams of a girl he has never once met or spoken to. But one night, she returns to him yet again in his sleep.
Near his home lies a cave where Damian and his lifelong friend, Aiden Lorand, used to explore as children. He decides to visit this place once again along with Aiden to try to go back to their childhood to find out what may have triggered the dreams to start again. An earthquake leads Damian, Aiden, and Damian's little brother Zeke into a small room with no exits--except for a large door on the wall.
The door is opened, and they are sucked into a white light bursting from inside. Damian awakens in a castle with Aiden and Zeke no where to be found.
You play as Damian--trying desperately to find his friends, and his way home. On his way he will meet new friends and discover long-forgotten truths about the two worlds; as well as how this world relates to dreams.
Characters
Damian Ashling - Dreamer Damian has a brave, polite, kind-natured spirit. He will help anyone who needs it, and will not abandon a promise for any cost. It is common for these good features to be taken advantage of, though. His encouraging spirit gives him the power to increase strengths of his allies, as well as diminish the strengths of his enemies.
Ariana Aislin - Dreamer Ariana seems to have circumstances very close to those of Damian. They become friends because of this, and she wants to help him find his way home so that she can also find answers for herself. She is very independent, but isn't afraid to let others do things for her. She can be fierce and quick in battle; afflicting enemies with potent diseases.
Zeth Solanis - Disciple A very diligent and intelligent young man obsessed with gaining knowledge. His broad studies have given him knowledge on almost any subject, even magic. He keeps the first book he ever read with him at all times, and uses the contents to defend himself with powerful elemental spells. He feels that he is running out of new things to learn, so he sets out from his home to feed his hunger for knowledge.
Glow - Lucite A demon from the mysterious Intermundus who joins Damian. He cannot talk, but he seems to be very loyal and wants to be close to Damian. Despite his dark background, he has the power of light at his disposal in battle--healing allies, and damaging enemies with powerful light magic is his specialty.
Aiden Lorand- Guardian Damian's lifelong friend who was forced into the dream world along with him. He has a very short temper, but he hides a very emotional and sentimental spirit which gives him the will to protect his friends at all costs. In battle he uses protection magic to defend himself and his allies.
Leandra Ildiko - Warrior One of the last survivors of a city deep under a town in the middle of the ocean. She is a sensitive person, but is not afraid to kill to protect innocent lives. She uses elemental based sword attacks in battle, and can go into a berserk mode to destroy her enemies quickly.
Garett Faltone- Hunter A young man who has a connection to the girl Damian dreamed of. He is very quiet, but when he talks it is always filled with wisdom. He is a hunter by trade, and has an extensive knowledge of various monsters, as well as the ability to deal extra damage to monsters by using species-specific skills.
Naveena Astrid - Psychic A mysterious young woman who remembers hardly anything from her past. She has the ability to read minds, and move objects using only her mind. Her telekinetic abilities give her the power to cause unpredictable damage to enemies, or heal random amounts of health for allies.
Features
-RTAB (Real Time Active Battle System) with RTP front-view sprites.
-Unique armor system--separate slots for Physical Defense, Magic Defense, and Evasion.

Hey! Sillypieman! I'm really glad that you have finally finished your game, Lucid Awakening. I have been always interested in Dream Based stories since it fascinates me about its wonders. I'll try your full game next week when it's the weekends. New semester is beginning so game making has slowed down.
But anyway, it's nice to see that Lucid Awakening is finally complete. The story is really interesting since it makes you wonder who the girl is, what caused the earthquake, where he is now, etc. I'll definetely try it out for the story.
Although you used some RTP I wouldn't mind it so long as it has been used to its maximum extent. =]
I like the menu, the game was pretty good and I enjoyed it. Good Job^^

I'm not exactly sure...it might have come with the world map tileset. I actually merged two different world map tilesets.
Edit: Since people are commenting on the menu, I should give credit to SilentSteps. He/she made the script...so yeah.
Edit again: IF YOU DOWNLOADED MY GAME, YOU'LL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN WITH THE LINK ON THE FIRST POST. The other one had a fatal error where the game would crash when you would level up -_-. I'm usually not that careless, and trust me, I have playtested my game VERY thoroughly. But what happened is that I was in a hurry to get the demo out, and when I was clearing out Graphics that weren't being used to reduce the file size, I accidentally deleted the level up graphic.
So yeah, it's embarrassing. But HOPEFULLY this one works. Let me know if it does/doesn't crash.
Thanks for your patience.

I also uploaded the game to our server for a direct download and you can keep track of the number of downloads also on the game profile. I hope you like, sillypieman. Hopefully we can get this game reviewed soon as well.

Thank you! It's actually part of the Windowskin itself. You do mean the little circle that changes color right?
And in case you're wondering, I'm using AMS by Dubealex (I think) to make the messages appear above people's heads and to do the in-dialogue pauses and stuff.

So far I have been REALLY enjoying it. Easily the greaqtest fanmade game I have ever played and it feels more like a real game. I will give my full review once I finish it.
Thanks. I really was striving for not just a good RM game, but a good GAME. That is a good mentality to have when making games. Just a little tip for everyone.
I really like to leave everything open too. There are SO many unsolved things that were either mistakenly overlooked by me, couldn't be fit into the game, or were actually purposely left out.

You have presented your project very well. I read the story and it really intrigeges me. The screenshots and title screen look really good as well. I've just downloaded it and I can't wait to play it. I'll tell you how I think about the game when I get pretty far into it. Anyways, it looks great.

The farther I get into it the more it seems like a GAME, not an rpg maker game. So your right on that aspect, it feels like it could have been an actual game. My full review will be up once I complete it. ANy idea how long it takes to finish?
Thank you . I got about 6 hours of gameplay...but I knew everything about the game. But my game is really linear, so you will probably get around that same time.
I have big plans for a sequel...and I would love to have people help me with it. I prefer to work by myself on making actual games, but I would love to have a team that could make resources and scripts for me. Maybe once my rep goes up as a game maker, people would be willing to do that...for free haha (I'm poor ).

Yeah I know I'm sorry lol. I noticed that after I uploaded the game -_-. When I playtested my game I didn't use Ariana after a while, I guess I should've played with ALL the characters haha.
Edit: Look on the first post, I put a link to the character synopsis. It will be REALLY helpful to use while playing the game.

Yeah, I did and ti helped. Btw I found another bug. When you first find Leandra you are temporarily able to switch Damion out of our party. I swapped out Damion for Leandra and Leandra appeared as the main charecter on the scrren so there were 2 Leandra's on the screen at the scene. After the scene my main charecter scrren retruned to damion but my main charecter stayed Leandra. I swapped them back but just want to note it. Enjoying the game so far =) I just got the charecter who talks to animals.
