Black as White: Timelord Victus

Timelord Victus is a non-canon sidestory based in the world of my novel, Black as White. Black is White is about a boy named Zack, his eventual girlfriend Addy and their various allies trying to stop the end of the world. Both Addy and Zack are Keepers. "Keepers" is the name of those who are host to immortal, demi-god like beings called Lords. Their efforts are hindered by Desmund DeAdeua, a lax, scholarly summoner and Genevieve Kaido, a power-hungry master of magick and cards. They are being employed by a mysterious third party who takes a special interest in Zack.
In Timelord Victus, a man named Victus has thrown himself inside the very fabric of time and is trying to take control of it in order to become a God. After discovering this plot, Zack and Desmund agree to a truce in the interest of stopping Victus.
In Black as White, Earth is split into two separate dimensions; Logex, where Zack is from, is a dimension that exists largely without and completely ignorant of Magick. Desmund and Gene however, come from Magex, the parallel dimension which has advanced far beyond Logex because of their harnessing of Magick. Timelord Victus will not only have you traveling through time, but between dimensions. Because of the differences in the dimensions, each one will play somewhat differently. Because Logex does not typically have monsters to fight, you will be facing more human opponents, solving more puzzles, helping people with their problems and making choices. Magex will play more like a standard RPG, and by that I mean 90% of your time will be spent in battles.
All Character listed are playable. Please excuse any ambiguity, time-wise and otherwise. BAW is a huge story that is far from finalized, so very little is set in stone.
Zack Ryan II Age 17 Class: Renegade or Paragon, Weapon: Black Arm
Zack is a young man caught between light and darkness. By nature, he was a kind, timid and caring person despite a difficult childhood. However, one day he broke and gave into the hatred that dwelled within. He beat his most aggressive bully to near-death, and fled from his school. Being pursued by local authorities, Zac (as he went then) ran through his hometown of Canid. It was at this time that a dying Emaxillion, Lord of Hatred of War, found him to be a suitable host. Emaxillion tried to take full control of young Zac, but could only take control of his heart. With Emaxillion's heart of ice, dark powers and years of combat experience to complement his intellect, Zac became an unstoppable force. He took revenge on all who had hurt him, and by high school, had used his dark talents to build enough funds to support him his entire life and developed a highly advanced virus, capable of taking control of the very Internet.
It is very possible that had he not met Addy Anisten, the girl who melted the ice on his heart, he would have brought about the end of the world.
Keeper to Emaxillion, the Lord of War and Hatred, Zack is an extremely powerful fighter. In addition to his natural physical ability, genius intellect and love of weapons, Emaxillion offers him not only over 1000 years of combat experience, but the ability to harness Negative Energy around him into powerful effects.
He is the character you will assume direct control of, and because of Zack's questionable morality, you will be able to play as a merciless Renegade or a heroic Paragon.
Addy Anisten Age 17 Class: Ex-Assassin, Weapon: Florence
The impossible child, Addy was born to 02 (Penelope) and 16 (Gregory), the two greatest assassins for Unity; America's top secret group of trained assassins. Somehow, both of her parents were immune to the sterilizing effects of the Unity virus, an injection that bolsters human ability to their peak. Addy was born in Japan, raised and trained by her parents. The offspring of the best, and two people already infected with Unity, she is possibly the closest thing a human being as ever come to perfect. Addy was killed once by a man named Lance, an assassin from North Korea. However she somehow came back to life, and for her safety, moved to America where she met Zack.
Addy is, despite her assassin upbringing, is a very kind, caring person who hates violence and death. She tries to use her remarkable gifts to help bring about peace. Her influence has helped Zack return to his old, true self...at least, somewhat.
The world's greatest assassin, Addy can hold her own against nearly anyone or thing. She prefers close, quick combat. Her favorite weapon is Florence, a double-barreled sawed-off shotgun. Keeper of Amary, Lord of Hope, she has access to Light based spells and basic healing magic.
A recent graduate from a Summoner school in Magex, Desmund can call upon the spirits of powerful monsters to serve him. He can be as unpredictable as Zack, having a fun and care-free personality. He also considers himself a great scholar, always trying to learn everything about anything. Desmund takes great joy in testing Zack's abilities, often in secluded locations, trying not to injure innocent bystanders. He can be very pompous, often referring to Gene as his assistant when she is really his partner (and arguably more powerful than he is).
Desmund is a summoner, calling on spirits in battle to assist him. He can either Call spirits for a single, powerful attack or he can Summon monsters to join him in battle. He also has access to a variety of elemental, spirit and protective Magick, as well as being able to manipulate his own blood into deadly weapons and attacks.
Genevieve "Gene" Kaido Age: 20 Class: CardMistress, Weapon: Cards and other throwing weapons.
A power-mad women, Gene has an almost fetish-like obsession with power; be it hers of someone else's. She also has a general lust for blood, taking deep joy in killing. She was hired by the same person who hired Desmund, and acts as his partner. However, Gene often seems to ulterior motives to what she does. She is often foul-mouthed and also very arrogant, though she is very capable of backing up any claim she makes. Gene often makes advances toward Zack, though it is very likely she is more interested in stealing his godly power than she is in him.
Gene is a master of Wind and Protective Magick. She is also skilled in Elemental and Spirit Magick. Gene has two unique gifts. The first is the ability to literally see power levels, which take the form of auras surrounding the person. The second is her strange telepathy involving cards. By combining her Wind Magick with Card Telepathy, she is able to fly, and by combing her Protective Magick with Card Telepathy, she is able to replace her entire physical body with cards, effectively making her invincible.
Marcus Allen Age 18 Class: Task Force Lieutenant, Weapon: Pistols, Rifles and Bows
Zack's first, and arguably, closest friend. Marcus is just as intelligent and capable as Zac, though has a tendency of being very thick. He is true Paragon at heart, always fighting for the greater good (though he will occasionally prioritize his friends over others). As kids, Marcus was Zac's protector at school, always standing up for his soft-spoken friend. More recently however, they have become more of rivals than anything else. They often argue over what course of action to take, Marcus wanting to help any he can, Zack wanting to do what is most profitable.
Marcus is host to the Darkness, a mysterious entity that exists in the center of the universe. The Darkness is a liquid substance that has entirely replaced Marcus's blood. He is able to use The Darkness to suit his needs, but has to constantly monitor himself so that he doesn't drain himself of life.
Marcus is a Lieutenant in Task Force, the new version of Unity, led by Robert McNamara. He has undergone intense training, and is very capable in both hand to hand and in the use of small arms. Marcus goes into combat with a 9mm pistol, using Darkness in a ball form as ammunition. He can also expel the Darkness to attack enemies, which drains his life. (However this is not the case in the demo, he consumes Magic.)
Jean-Luc Pittman Age 17 Class: Criminal, Weapon: Whips and Fire Magic
Close-friend of Zack and Marcus, Luc is a rowdy kid. He was orphaned as a baby, and later adopted by an elderly couple. However, they both died when he was still young. As such Luc grew up in a home, and adopted a street gangster personality. For whatever reason, he befriended Zack and Darion, meek nerds, and Marcus, an upper-class goody-two-shoes in elementary school. Luc has a short temper and loud mouth, often getting him into trouble. After he moved away from Marcus, Zac and Darion, he found himself in trouble with the law.
At some point he came to be the Keeper of Axel, the Lord of Vice and Fire. Otherwise known as The Devil.
Keeper of Axel, Luc is able to harness the power of Pyroknesis. He carries around a lighter to create flame he can manipulate whenever he needs to (as well as to light his cigarettes). He also seems to be able to use a whip with great skill, carrying a chain whip with him into battle.
Willow Joy Age 17 Class: Witch, Weapon: Staves
Willow was a very normal girl until she met Zac during freshman year. She fell in love with Zac, and in a desperate attempt to gain his affection (which he didn't have any of to give) she became his tool. He used her whenever her girlish charm or relative popularity within the school would come in handy. He constantly strung her along, giving her no affection but enough attention to keep her at his side. This caused her to develop serious mental and emotional problems. During one of Desmund's attacks, she was impaled by a large sword. She was rushed to the nearest hospital, and thanks to her Wicken blood, she survived. Not only did she survive, but her latent talent for Elemental, Restoration Magick and Witchcraft surfaced. After Zack returned from his "vacation" she trained with famous magician and skilled Mage to harness her abilities. After her training, she joined Task Force to help Zack.
In combat, Willow assails her enemies with Elemental spells (her favorite, and most powerful, being Water) heals her friends with Restoration magick and weakens her enemies with Witchcraft.
Epic, changing story: The choices you make will determine the fate of the random people in the world, the main cast, and even the world. I am hoping that the main story will be at least 10 hours long, with multiple endings determined by your choices through the game. You, as Zack, will be able to choose who lives, who dies and who you romance on this adventure.
In-depth, challenging combat: With over 100 skills as of now, the game boasts a fast paced combat system with lots of strategy. Every character is unique, and the player will be able to mix and match the main cast of playable characters (more than 7 characters) to meet their needs or suit their liking. With beautifully designed monsters by some Japanese artist I can't name, and a wide variety of skills and spells to use, the combat will always stay interesting.
Lots of Loot: With each character having their own unique types of weapons, you will be able to find, buy and use over 100 weapons throughout the story to destroy your opposition. There are also over a dozen armors and items to use, as well as monster loot to sell for profit.
