-Story Prologue-
The hero awakens on a normal day, with a seemingly normal task, when he meets a mysterious witch... Upon asking him if he wants to choose the light or darkness he then receives powers equal to the choice he made. Depending on his choice the game embarks on two paths.
Light path... seemingly nothing happens and he continues on his quest. Town to town he goes, until he finds out that the neighboring town is under attack by Sahagins. As he goes upon his quest he meets Carter, a marauder of the seas, fighting together in battle, Valak and Carter form a bond that leads them to learn that the Brotherhood is up to no good. Meeting with the King he learns that the Brotherhood is trying to release a ancient evil. Having the urge to protect his friends and the world he accepts this journey and heads toward his goal. On the way learning he has a guardian spirit, Hyperion, within him. With Hyperion's guidance Valak, Carter, Tekka (A fairy who holds the orb that seals Ragnorok), Durnas, and his allies gather the guardian crystals and try to save the world.
Dark path... A mysterious figure emerges and gives Valak orders. Valak blindly carries them out killing people he's grown up with for a reason of being they are with the Empire. Valak goes upon his orders and takes the orb from Tekka. Upon entering Sleemonburg, Valak meets Astrid and she gives him the quest to go find the Earth guardian crystal Gigas. When he meets Gigas, he starts to question his actions and ask Astrid why he's been doing these things. Astrid explains to him that the Empire is starting a Race war and this is the only way to stop them. As he teams up with Astrid, Valak, Mikheli, Maria, Durnas, and other allies gather the crystals to try and stop the Empire.

- Setting -
Valcarta, more so Drachell, is home to the 8 Elemental Lords which have shrines that house their respected 'Crystals' throughout the province. Being the housing province to all of these Elemental Lords, the 'gods' as some have viewed them as, had Drachell has a major religious hotbed, up until the point that all of the Elemental Lords signed the 'agreement' stating that they will not fight amongst themselves. This signing issued in the time of piece, and the start of the use of the Cleansing Ritual. This was 1500 years ago.
The agreement that was signed sword all Elemental Lords to rule over their pieces of Drachell peacefully in a committee. The committee is ruled by Hyperion, the Elemental Lord of Light. Hyperion, name 'High King' of the Elemental Lords was the strongest of the Elemental Lords and called off the on going battle and brought peace to Drachell. This was mainly due to the threat of Ragnarok, the Demon Lord of Calamity, appearing.

- Characters -
Characters

Valak – A quiet young man from the village of Orm once lived in Sleemonburg, where he was raised by an old couple who found him on their doorstep late one night. On a tripe to Orm on Valak's 14th year, both of his caretakers were killed... Left in front of the small village, Orm, Valak ran for his life to escape the cloaked killer. As the sun broke through the horizon, the killer disappeared. Valak, in terrible shock fainted in the gateway to Orm, and was found by the old Innkeeper and taken in. From that point on, Valak swore to avenge his old guardians, and took up a sword to learn how to defend himself from the world's dangers.
Growing up in Drachell wasn't easy for Valak. He was always a bit different compared to everyone else. Never said much, normally kept to himself. His red colored eyes often scared away people. His long White Hair made the boys tease him about his gender as well... Many people grew suspicious of Valak, since he clearly was not a normal Human. How did he get here, through the magic? What was he?
Valak has grow up to become Orm village's protector. Helping travelers get from Orm to Renkar, or Malvern without fear of anything on the streets. Due to the magics of the Cleansing Ritual being in place, Valak has had to deal with much of anything aside from the occasional bandits, until now...

Carter – A rough-tough sailing man, Carter comes from Sleemonburg, born and raised. Although present a front, Carter is rally a rouge smuggler that took a job that sent him up to Renkar, during which the Sahagin's attacked the city and kept him stuck there. Carter has worked with shady dealers, smuggling various goods across the waterways of Drachell since his 14th year. On the eve of his 22nd year, Carter bought himself a ship, allowing him to run his own smuggling business. Carter is quite good at keeping a front, in fact, he even has a family. Two young children live with their grandparents in Sleemonburg, but Carter doesn't speak of them ever. Instead he works hard to keep a roof over their head, and food in their bellies. Carter's true focus is keeping his kids safe, no matter what danger lies ahead.

Tekka – The last known fairy to remain within the Fairy Forest, Tekka is a brave little fairy who was separated from her Clan during the Stalker Invasion. She is part of the Keeper's of the Forest, a Shaman Clan protected by Hyperion. She was away from the main group of fairies when the attack started, and thought they were all killed by the time she got back. Little does she know, she lives in a fake Fairy Forest now, and most of her kin are in the real on in an alternate Realm. Although hidden right under her nose, Tekka is unable to access the hidden forest, for the powerful magics conceal it from prying eyes. Although young, Tekka is the daughter of the Clan's leader, and so is quiet knowledgeable about Clan history and ancient magics within Drachell, when her clumsy memory let's her remember.

Mikheli – A member of the Tigeress clan. After her 15th year she became curious of a roaming bard. Upon following him (more like snooping around) she found out that he followed Susanoo the Guardian of Wind. Loving his music and his way with instruments she began following Susanoo and focused on becoming a bard herself. As this was completely against the ways of her clan they shunned her and left her to fend for herself. Figuring this was the perfect opportunity to become a bard herself she roamed the lands until she ran into the Brotherhood. Knowing that she wasn't the most active of Tigeress Clan members, they trusted in her power knowing she'd be a vital ally! But she'll do anything for the promise of nap time after!

Durnas – A holy man that works in the name of Hyperion as an ever faithful servant to the Divine Light, Durnas is know as a War Priest, father's of the church that have also mastered the light for offensive purposes to uphold the Divine Lord's will where it is necessary. Durnas swore fealty to the Divine Light and promised to banish any evil from the Drachell through his travels. Before this, Durnas was a student of some of the darkest magic known within Drachell, the School of Conjuration and Necromancy with his young love, Maria. Fore years they studied the magics but found no success in being able to reproduce the spells without harming themselves, something they didn't want to do. Maria pressed harder on the subject, straying from their original goals. This made Durnas scared, and be backed away from the project altogether out of fear of the chaos that could be unleashed. Ever since that day, in is 20th year, Durnas swore to keep Drachell free of such beasts.

Maria – Maria was on in her 9th year when she first stumbled across a book on Conjuration and Necromancy. Diving into the book, she quickly made the choice to devote her life to researching the magic. Maria, becoming one of the most advanced magic-users known to the Pure-Blood humans bu her 16th year did something that would further define her as a mage. Intrigued by what would happen, Maria decided to open a portal to the Doomvoid Realm, deep within the Crovinale Gold Mine. Not many humans can say that they would enter such a place, and the Doomvoid Realm is known as a nasty and violent place, home to Valcarta's most terrible creatures. By entering the Realm, Maria was able to absorb and learn magic know as the Eldritch Arts. The Eldritch Arts are some of the most powerful magics, and they use the persons soul to manipulate 'Fay' instead of the transitional spoken language to manipulate it. By Maria's 20th year, Durnas, her current love interest ended up parting ways. Durnas feared for Maria's life if she were to keep diving into this magic and couldn't stand by and watch her destroy herself.
Maria was shaken by the breakup. Torn up by her emotions, she dove deeper into the magic, not caring about what would happen to her. She was able to master the dark art of breaking her soul, and inducting it into a creature, real or conjured to animate it, and have her control it, to an extent. She also created her own unique incantation that allowed her to remove her soul pieces from creatures, which was magic that had not been known before. However, the spell wasn't perfect, and would taint her soul with darkness from the creatures that she placed them in. This has lead to Maria's soul being forever darkened by the magic she created.

Krogan – Krogan is the last known Frostwind Shaman that has lived alone in seclusion within a small cave in the Abardean Mountains. The Frostwind Clan was wiped out during the unexpected attack known as the Abardean Invasion. Krogan, the Ex-Grand Shaman of the Frostwind Clan, was granted Immortality by their matron, Shiva during the great battle for the North Region. Krogan searched for years for people to help rebuild the clan, but found only that he was truly alone, as the power of the Snow Elves had seemingly left Drachell for good. It's been almost 600 years since the fall of the Clan, and Krogan has lived, weeping in sorrow this whole time.

Seraphim – Once a human like everyone else in Drachell, Seraphim, or Sera as she was called, became a Champion of Hyperion, his first in fact. Hyperion , seeing how well Sera stuck to her morale's and helped Drachell with his power, granted her Immortality, and made gave her the option of becoming a Guardian Spirit. Sera was torn over the option... Leave her friends, watch as they grow old, while she lives on... Or, live forever, always helping the defenseless, and keeping peace within Drachell and all of Valcarta. After the emotions ran their course, Sera made an easy choice. The person she was drove her to accept Hyperion's offer to because a Guardian Spirit of the Divine Lord, a protector of Valcarta. After main years as a Guardian Spirit, Sera developed angelic wings, giving her the gift of flight, that may aid he in her cause... The first of many developments that are to come from the gift of the Divine Light. Seraphim, to this day, is Hyperion's prized champion, and the only one to receive Immortality, and the option to serve him forever as a Guardian Spirit.

Synkale – The Elemental Lord of Darkness, Death and Chaos. She is the most reclusive of the Lord and as one would expect is the only Elemental Lord that has never had a Shaman Clan under her name. Although, she doesn't have and direct worshipers, Synkale is able to feed and thrive off of the negative energy that lay behind the prayers to all of the other lords. Synkale is the sister to the Demon Lord Ragnarok.

Hyperion – The Elemental Lord of Light, Judgment and the Divine Word, is the 'High King' of all the Element Lords and saved Drachell from the threat of destruction from the Demon Lord, Ragnarok. Praised as a hero after the imprisonment of Ragnarok, Hyperion became the favorite of the people and the most respected amongst most of the Elemental Lords.
