I've met someone who works on art, too. And yeah, it's pretty hard at first, since you need to 'gamble' to move on. Such as proviiding money for tablet-works and else.. If you're on semi/realistic arts, I think more people will interested, I mean, it's America. Such as domino-games, MMOs and many..unlike most Asian arts which focused on chibis and mangas.. :/

Well that's the feel I got here in my house, too. Of 80 people, I'm in 1 of 4-5 people left in my college and mostly I failed in my class. When I tried to go for language faculty, mom and other family member said "That kind of works you get from that won't make enough money" and the same stuff happen at whatever major I was gonna pick except for engineering yet it isn't my wants lol..
Hey hey, I know you can do it. You're still 20ies, many awaits you in the future. Things might've not work for you for couple years or so, but at least you won't ruin the next 20 years of your life ^^
