History:
Once, long ago, an ancient race known as the "Solarians" had a magical civilization throughout the solar system, powered by concentrated sun energy that was beamed in a torrent running to all of the planets. For unknown reasons, the flow of Solar Power that fuelled their civilization stopped and they soon disappeared.

The Solar Beams are connected through an intricate design on pyramids, designed to receive and re-direct the incoming beams onto the next planet. The system was designed by the ancient Solarian race, who had the magical capabilities to adjust the Solar Beams where necessary if adjustments were needed for the system to function.

However, after the flow of Solar Power stopped and helped to extinguish the existence of the Solarians, a huge explosion rocked the Solar System, reducing the number of planets from 10 to 9.

For reasons still unknown to even the best human historians and scientists, a world that once existed between the planets of Mars and Jupiter exploded, destroying any life that may have been there. The interstellar debris was fired into the depths of space and the planet was gone.

The planet's debris, however, remained in the Solar System, trapped in orbit between the two planets that it once lived. The human-called Asteroid Belt was formed from this orbiting debris.

Tens of thousands of millennia later, humanity arose on Earth and began worshipping the Sun. The humans had small amounts of magical ability, but nothing compared to that of the ancient "Solarian" race.

In order to please the Sun God, a giant ship was crafted upon which a perfect, beautiful maiden would be placed and sent to the Sun as a sacrifice in order to bring back the blessings of the Solar Magic. The ship was stocked with food and other supplies for the voyage, which took 12 years, beginning when the girl was merely six years old and drawing to an end shortly after her eighteenth birthday. Upon arrival at the Sun, she was not sacrificed by the Sun God; instead, she became the Sun Queen, imbued with the Sun's power and acting as the Sun God's emissary to the humans.

The Sun God was apparently pleased, because a powerful flare shot from the Sun, stretching out into a beam that reached an ancient pyramid on Mercury. Conducted through the planet's core, the beam was directed to another pyramid which projected the beam onto Venus and then onto Earth. From there, the beam continued to flow through the vast abyss of space, connecting the remaining planets in the Solar System. The Solar Beam brought with it a new age of powerful magic.

The humans built great Sunrider ships which could harness the Solar Power and travel along the beams from planet to planet, world to world. The Great Pyramids on each planet served as "stations" where the ships launched and docked, riding the beams almost like an interplanetary railroad. Soon, humans used the ships to colonize the other planets of the Solar System. The use of the network of beams was vital to commerce and culture, but also held a religious significance, too; Sun Queen temples were constructed near the Great Pyramids on every world in order to honour the Sun Queen and the Sun God she serves.

Between the planets that fill the Solar System, vast emptiness spreads in a dark abyss of black matter. No life can exist inside this black matter, as it destroys life and extinguishes the very sub-atomic particles that form the building blocks of everything in existence.

However, this black matter cannot be formed without an equal and opposing formation; white matter - or existing matter - otherwise known as the Ether.

Within the vast darkness of space lie pockets of white matter that allow for life to flourish. Sunrider ship crews were the first humans to observe a pocket such as those formed by the juxtaposing reaction of black and white matter.

Not long after, a request was sent to the Sun God, through the Sun Queen, as human emissary, to allow for Solar Beams to be extended to these pockets of unexplained light for research. The Solar Beams potency was increased, allowing for the Sunrider ships to travel into the white matter pockets.

Upon arrival in the white matter pockets, humans were greeted with views of the Solar System that were never believed to have existed; scientific beliefs that had been rejected because of lack of proof sprang back and the early years of the S.Q.E saw a scientific and social revolution.

Humans began to colonize these pockets of white matter and, after careful deliberation with the Sun God through his emissary, a deal was struck that would allow for the newly formed Ether worlds to be fuelled by the Solar Beams in a delicately constructed system that would later become known as the Ether Realm.

About 30 years ago, the stars began to go out, blotted out by a living darkness that surrounded the Solar System - Origion, the Abyssal.

Origion advances by sending out its minions - hideous dark creatures spawned from the mass of Abyssal itself - in order to devour and conquer. It cannot occupy inhabited worlds without overcoming the human population first, as well as destroying the Great Pyramids which serve as the Solar Beam stations, in order to cut off the potent magical energy from the Sun God.

Now, the outer reaches of the Solar System have become a war front; a battleground for the future humanity. In order to battle the Abyssal forces, the inhabitants of the outer planets have one secret weapon: dragons.

Ancient Dragon eggs, dating back to the age of the ancient Solarians, were found in frozen caves on the outer planets. Using Solar Magic, the eggs were incubated and hatched; the goal being to have the Dragons as mounts and to create a Dragon-Rider army to battle the Abyssal forces.

However, the Dragons can only be successfully bonded to a Rider if they are paired off very early in life. If this process is not completed, the Dragons become wild; unresponsive to commands at best, but can become violent and dangerous, a threat to the very humans who had bred them.

Thus, young children must be paired with the newly-hatched Dragons for training. By the time they are in their early teens, the Riders are fully trained and sent into battle with their Dragons. Despite their young age, the children of the outer planets are forced into a war that many do not return from, shouldering the responsibility of the fate of their world.

There is another problem in that the supply of ancient, frozen Dragon eggs is dwindling and no new eggs have been laid. The Dragons are hermaphrodites but no one alive knows how to get them to mate with each other and they are not breeding on their own. Researchers are desperately trying to solve this problem before the living Dragons are killed in battle, leaving humankind exposed and defenceless against the Abyssal forces and Origion.

After the Sun God reinitiated the Solar Link, the ancient pyramids of the planets were forced out of extinction and back into life. One planet apparently unable to cope with the strains of the outer planets demands of the Solar Beams is Mars.

Due to the war between the human Dragon-Riders and Origion's Abyssal forces, demands for Solar Power has tripled in the last 10 years. The increase in Solar Power surging through the planet's core has made Mars highly unstable and researchers have predicted that Mars will reach critical point in 2, maybe 3 years, before the planet is blown out of existence. They are still unsure as to the consequences of the explosion midway through the Solar Beam process.

Due to its instable state, Mars often suffers from natural disasters, due to "overcharging" of the Great Pyramids. The potency of the Solar Power is so great that it is rupturing the planet's core, slowly splitting it in two. This on-going process has dramatic effects on the surface of Mars and is slowly reshaping the habitable living surface.

With the arrival of the Solar Beams, many tried to harness the power the energies provided. For over twenty years, humankind investigated and tested new ways of harvesting the Solar Energy for their own benefits, to no prevail.
In the year 422 S.Q.E, the first successful harnessing of the Solar Beams occurred. Although the Solar Energy's potency was not achieved, the first unharnessed Solar Flight was witnessed by a group of merely 25 humans. Unwilling to share their miraculous discovery with the World Leaders, the group of humans established the Freerider Association. In the remainder of the year, a further 32 unharness flights were achieved.

However, human nature soon came into play and the 25 humans realised that they could use their unharnessed flights to loot gold and items from Sunrider ships. And that is exactly what they did.

Although slower than most Sunrider ships, the "Freeships" and their pirate crews were able to intercept the Sunrider ships and raid them for their goods. This was the beginning of the Freeship Pirates.

In the year 427 S.Q.E, there are nearly 20 Freeship Pirate crews that scour the Solar System for Sunrider Ships and their goods.

In the present time, in the year 427 S.Q.E (Sun Queen Era), the human civilization stretches across the solar system. There are nearly 20 Freeship Pirate crews that scour the Solar System for Sunrider Ships and their goods.
