ACE vs VX Options

I'm new to these programs and I didn't know about Ace so I recently began learning RPG Maker VX. My question is simple. Is Ace much superior than VX?

Ace has many new features, such as the ability for more than one tileset, more event commands, a lot more database functions, and an improved scripting system. If you can afford the $90, and VX isn't really doing what you need, then getting Ace would be a good idea.
