Isometric game engine Options

Hi, I love hack and slash Action RPG, and currently working on mechanics on leveling up, attack, and damages.
I am not a programer, but learn some basic programing through internet, and I have an art background. I am also not try to be a full programer, but enough to do some tests
I am using python to test some formula, and put same crude graphic to test the mechanics, but it will be challenging to do anything more advance.
I hope members of this board could give me suggestion on which game engine I should use to make my game?
What I have in mind is ARPG like Diablo with 2D isometric view map, with customize leveling and skill tree.
