Chapter One: Kiyoshi?!
“Sal…Sal…SALL!” a women yelled, “Do I have to look after Kiyoshi all by my damn self”
“Alright…Alright, I’m coming” Sal replied, “I love you Cal, but seriously you have a mouth on you, baby” he teased.
He found his wife standing in front of him with hands on her hips. He loved it when she was angry. Her beautiful brown eyes burned with a fire that would make the toughest man run for the hills, but to him the burning fire is what drove him crazy. Her long blazing red hair always seemed to gently flow around her neck, like a scarf of slow-moving lava.
“I love you so much baby” Sal said lovingly,
“Don’t I love you baby me!” She replied sternly.
Sal’s day-dream ended abruptly.
“Haven’t you noticed that your Son has gone for another walk, darling”
Sal glanced around her feet where his son would normally be and his heart turned cold as he realised why she was so annoyed.

“Shit.” His eyes grew stern and he quickly sprung into action. He speedily spun his hand into the air and a stream of Green fire erupted from his hands. “I’ll sort it!” he said comfortingly “He will be fine. I promise.”

****************

Where is that noise coming from? He tried to tell his mummy that there was a noise but she just started babbling at him. Silly woman. She didn’t understand simple language, he guessed that seeing as they aren’t going to speak to him properly he was gonna have to start babbling like her soon enough.
So far the only noise that he could understand was “Kiyoshi”. Such a weird noise, it sounded really offensive. What made it worse was that they always looked or pointed at him when they said it. It wasn’t just mummy and daddy saying it; it seemed to be everyone who saw him. Oh well, he thought can’t be that important.

He gritted his teeth as the noise bore into him as if something was trying to control him. He just wanted someone to stop that noise so that he could go back to sleep again. He hated being woken up. He slammed his hands on hard object. Great he thought to himself who the hell would place something solid and as uncomfortable right in front of him. He turned around and he began to consider that walking away from mummies wasn’t such a good idea.

Suddenly, the noise began to grow louder. Finally he thought to himself I can shut that noise up and then I can go home and sleep again. He thought about what he was gonna do the next day. Perhaps he was gonna try and understand what everyone was trying to say to him including that mysterious word.

He stopped in his tracks, as suddenly he heard something that he recognised, it was coming from inside this dark area… the noise was coming from there. He crawled in…and his eyes grew heavy, and he felt his body begin to relax, the noise was finally stopping, so he rested his head down; when once again he heard that one noise that he understood.

“Kiyoshi.”

****************
“I’m going to ask you again Captain.” Cal asked, “Where. Is. My. Son.”
The Captain shivered. The angry eyes of a Red Mage were something he didn’t want to deal with right this moment. If his own servants had called him over at this time of the night he would have buried them under 20 feet of earth. However he bit his lip with Mayor Baylin. He can’t afford to lose the support of Rutilian; Aarderian cannot afford to lose another trade link. Daichi trembled as the images of Rutilian as an enemy instead of an ally washed over him. “Sir, the Knights have searched every area of Rutilian” he calmly began, “He is nowhere to be seen.” The Captain froze to the spot, knowing that this wasn’t the news that the Mayor wanted to hear.

****************
The guards frantically scraped around looking for any clues just hoping that they could find Kiyoshi before he found them. They’ve been searching for over an hour and it seemed that their hope was lost. They had asked around thinking that possibly they could find someone who saw Kiyoshi wondering around. For a kid he was certainly fast on his feet and appeared to leave no trace of where he had gone.

The guards had begun to lose face, when all of a sudden a mixture of a green and red flame erupted into the sky…which meant only one thing.

Someone had found something.

****************
Sal was pacing again. He knows it’s not the guards fault. It was his pure stupidity that caused this problem. He once again left Kiyoshi unattended, giving that darn boy the chance to wonder off. He turned to see that the fire gates were still activated, which confused Sál more. How could a small child who has just managed to start crawling has the ability to turn off a fire gate. to do this he has to be able to use red magic which is highly improbable he's only a few months old he hasn't managed to say his first words yet so how could he use red magic...unless...

Sal laughed at his own thoughts, what a ridiculous idea. The thought of him being that is just a stupid idea. He turned to see his wife looking at him, with a worried look in her face.

"He'll be fine baby, soon he'll be back in your arms" he embraced her in his arms.
"I'm so scared" she whispered, "I don't know what I’d do without him"
Sal held her reassuringly. He would make sure Kiyoshi would be found. No one would rest until he found his son alive and well.

Suddenly, a loud banging noise broke the silence. "Sir, some of the men have found something that could lead us to Kiyoshi..." a guard called out from behind the door. Sal turned around rapidly and ordered the soldier to take him there. He smiled, knowing that soon his son would be back in his arms.
****************
Meanwhile, the soldiers were closing in on the small dark figure in the distance.
“Come on lil one…”one of the soldiers said softly, “We’re gonna take you back to daddy now!”
The soldier continued to move closer, although as he got closer he noticed something wasn’t quite right…

“Kiyoshi?! What are you doing?” the guard enquired.
A deep booming voice erupted from the dark figure…
“Such….stupidity, from the Rutilian military” the voice mocked, “I thought that in the heat of war, all soldiers took no prisoners. It appears that this no longer occurs, due to the disappearance of a small, innocent, child…”

Startled the guard retorted: “We aren’t in a war…”

“Aren’t you?” the voice replied “Well that can be easily changed…”
