So I have it so that NPCs will look like their moving in place when standing still like in old rpgs, but I can't seem to do the same for the main character. Anyone know how to make it so that I can get the controlling character to look like he is moving in place?

Easy enough to do.

1. Create a new event and set the Trigger to Parallel Process.

2. In the command window, go to the second tab and choose Set Move Route. Make sure it's selected for Player, and click Stepping Animation On. Then turn on Self Switch A, create a second page in Events and check that Self Switch A is on, leave this page blank with a trigger as Action.

The commands for the first page should look like this:

@>Set Move Route: Player (Wait)
: $>Stepping Animation ON
@>Control Self Switch: A=ON
@>

Great, and I assume I will have to do this event in every room? Which is simple enough.

No, it'll stay that way for the player until you turn it off. So just once.
