Rpg Maker VX Combat HELP, can i somehow get the player and enemies to fight like in engine001 Options

I love rpg maker vx except for 2 things
1 limited resources
2 the Pokemon-style combat crap
in engine 001 the combat is good you walk up hit enter and u swing your sword until the player is dead. is there a way to do this on rpg maker vx
