I've recently played (and loved) the Japanese RMXP game Ao Oni and I'm now craving more!
I love that constant fear of an enemy stalking you, appearing when you least expect it. I understand Clock Tower has an enemy much like this but unfortunately the first game is just far too slow and clunky for my liking!
Does anybody happen to know of a game (preferably a slightly older PC game) where an enemy stalks you? I'm a fan of the survival horror aspect, lacking the weapons to fend the creature off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Resident Evil! Honestly, THE best horror games of all time. Ones that involve stalking are: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Big bosses stalk you and will even follow you once in a while RE 2 has "The Licker" + "Mr. X" While RE 3 has "Nemesis". Honestly, these are the only games that have ever sent a shock down my spine. I love it and suggest it to anyone You can download them for PC or buy them from PSN. However, the PC versions are really old (since this is a really old game) I don't think it would be easy to find unless you pirate it or own a PS3 or PSP to download it from PSN. :3
EDIT: If you want lack of weapons choose hard mode!

Oh I'm a massive fan of Resident Evil with third being my favourite! I'm sure you can guess why.
As much as I loved Nemesis, unfortunately each appearance was scripted removing that shock value in the multitude of playthroughs I have done since my first. I was meant to mention that in my first post, actually!
Don't get me wrong, scripted appearances are more than welcome as I'm sure it would be my first time playing that game.
EDIT: I'm also a massive fan of Silent Hill, with 2 being my favourite. While Pyramid didn't stalk you per se, he still sent chills down my spine.

If I remember right, a lot of the entrances by Nemesis weren't scripted. The way you could tell if he was there or not was simply by the change of music. (correct me if I'm wrong I haven't played in ages)
On side note, I've always wanted to try Silent Hill but I never got around to it. I might try the PS1 version and see how it goes
I think he does follow you, but if I recall correctly he will only first appear at particular stages of the game. Hmm, I'm going to have to play it again!
I'd highly recommend Silent Hill as the undisputed scariest horror series in gaming, though for me, Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube is the single scariest game of all time.
In terms of enemies that stalk you, many old DOS games in the adventure genre would often have an enemy that followed you from screen to screen until you reached a safe area, or were killed by whatever was pursuing you.
You could try Laura Bow 2 which has a few nail biting chase sequences (and some of the most hilariously gruesome deaths in videogame history).
Another good example is Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's Chzo Mythos series. With 5 Days A Stranger and 7 Days A Skeptic having extremely memorable (and creepy) chase sequences.
All these are scripted, but (if you've never played the games) will catch you by surprise nonetheless.
Also, there is a sequence at the end of Condemned (X360) where the main antagonist stalks you through an old house. If memory serves, it's absolutely terrifying.
I've always wanted to play Eternal Darkness though I have no Gamecube and the Wii is back home with my sister. I remember a friend praising it some years ago.
I don't mind scripted chase scenes so long as it's my first time playing. The shock of being chased for the first time is fantastic! One game that I love is Amnesia. While it became a little expected by the end, the enemy was very well done as well as the chase.
The examples you've provided look pretty interesting and I think I'll have to give them a go. Thanks a lot!
You could always try Amnesia, if you haven't heard of it yet (Somehow), It has the same survival horror aspect and, even once you're done with the game, people are constantly releasing their own maps for it, making it so this game will always have new ways to scare you. You can buy it on Steam and...I'm not exactly sure how old it is, actually. It's pretty cheap though, or at least, it was, last time I checked.

Well the only unexpected suggest game I could think of is Enemy Zero. It's for the PC and I think for the SEGA Saturn. I heard from a review on youtube, it has you on a space ship alone with ghost aliens that you can't see, and you only have one device that tells you if any get close to you. If you get caught, it's a death.

The Huhja's martial arts club has now disbanded after a crushing defeat at their turfs. The school's morale quickly started disappearing... Till an quiet first year girl joins the school. This young, quiet, small girl may look weak and helpless, but her martial art style is unseen. A game inspired by: Ranma 1/2, Persona, and Slice-of-Life Animes.
That sounds exactly like my cup of tea, thank you! It's gotten good reviews and it sounds perfect.
@Nicsp - Take a little look at my post just above yours. It's hidden away, but I did briefly mention Amnesia. Thanks, though, it really is a great game!
There's a smartphone app called Zombie Run(?) which is essentially a satnav with zombies onscreen which you gotta avoid irl. Its sorta like the zones that kill the people in Battle Royale, but without the whole death penalty jazz (very convenient). Anyways, its not really a game but if you feel like avoiding things while going from A to B...

Battle Royale, that crazy Japanese film where kids are on the run for their lives to be the last people standing? As strange as it was, it was pretty good.
I've taken a quick look at Zombies, Run! and it seems pretty interesting. If it's on the Android Market then I'll have to download it and take a look.

Derp. Sorry, totally missed it. Well, in that case...
If you have Half-Life 1. There's a mod for it called Cry of Fear which, from what i've heard, is pretty darn scary. Then again, you seem to be after games with a stalking enemy instead of something that's just scary so...I really can't think of anything right now, sorry.

Oh, any game which has a good level of horror is excellent for me. At the time I posted this thread I had primarily been looking for chase scenes. I had just played an RMXP game which gave me some chills and I was looking for more.
I've Half Life 1 and will have to look into Cry of Fear. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh yeah! Enemy Zero is pretty damn scary! Reminds me of System Shock 2, except the enemies aren't fighting for screen time (though SS2 definitely had some terrifying moments).
And that brings me to Killer7 (GC/PS2), one of my favourite games. While there is only one (I think) "stalking" part in the traditional sense, all standard enemies are invisible until you "scan" them, but they laugh creepily when they're close by, and scream in your face if they get too close, then explode. Not really the best example but terrifying nonetheless.
Oh and that one stalking scene involves a boss that would hunt you down through a makeshift caravan labyrinth. That was pretty damn scary.
There's also the "It" boss fight from Resident Evil 4, though chances are you've played through that game I assume? I mean, everyone has right?
