This topic aims to replace the spam topic. We discuss nothing in particular here, and yet don't discuss nothing at all if that makes sense.

Soooooooo I'm working on FEPS still, just finished porting everything to the new engine. Literally everything, classes, tilesets, scripts, skills, icons, etc. Then I rearranged all the skills in the editor so they aren't jumbled around. Archer skills, thief skills, power skills, activation skills, movement skills, etc. Then I have a subsection of skills I have yet to use, those'll be fun to mess around with biggrin.gif

So... you're trying to replace the spam topic with something where we probably won't be able to spam just for the heck of not having to spam inside a new spam topic? XD

Its not about spam (though I reckon it'll end up that way) its about having a genuine general discussion... actually I'm not even gonna go through these differences, there's already been plenty said on this if you're willing to look.

Basically, all the forum rules still apply here, except the one about drifting off topic. This is the one and only place on the forum where two pages can have ENTIRELY unrelated issues being discussed, but it isn't spam. You'll see (if it works that is).

I now realize it will not, because people don't really want change, they only thinbk they do.

That's why we elected Obama then bitch about him.

Well so far the whole scrapping the playground thing is tied in votes.
I don't see why this and the spam topic couldn't simply coexist anyways and have somewhere for everyone to post.
And if you want this topic to kick off all you've gotta do is say something controversial enough to kick it off.

I also disapprove of Obama's reign, or rather the attitude towards it. No-one's conquering racism by electing a Black president, in fact the longer they intend to keep that in the history books as what defined his victory the longer the division will continue. I guess what I'm saying is race shouldn't factor into the equation, he should just be another of the presidents I wouldn't know if they hadn't occurred in my lifetime.

I wrote a fun short story (I dno, my friends liked it, but then they would say that) where everyone's memory was inexplicably removed so there were no reasons for social division. Instead of developing a global state though, they devolved into packs of savages grouped by eye colour.

The votes are as a guideline - to judge reaction.

We might try a trial month with no cesspool (hide it from your view) then try the one thread.

However-

I hate bumper stickers - I actually saw one that said "Baby Prince Oliver on board"- oh whoopee- you produced a child and put a sticker on your car- ooh .....stupid.

That sounds surprisingly plausible.

I think people have a natural tendency to not think before they speak. I've never heard an actual argument against Obama, just several conflicting opinions coming from the same side.
I think the worst time was when I (briefly) discussed the Republican candidates with a few of my friends who study American politics. I admit I was less informed than them, but my arguments were about the statistical advantages of running for a second term, not the merit of either group. I showed them the facts later - I was right. The facepalm moment of the argument was when one of them told me, "You don't study American politics, so it's not like your view matters"... I had to try very hard not to point out that the vast majority of voters don't have a clue about American politics either, and they're the people that get the vote.
Oh the joys of a self-defeating argument.

Oh, and don't get me started on bumper stickers...

Y'know, after hearing all th negativity about him, I'm kinda starting to feel it too. But Idgaf what anyone says, if it's Obama VS Santorum, or Gingrich, or Romeny, Obama gets my vote. He better watch out though, there's a strong possibility that I'd more than happily vote for Ron Paul if he came through in the election. Seriously though, what fucking retards are putting up Romney and Gingrich anyway, I don't know ANYONE who truly likes them. We have a man who cheats his taxes and hides his money offshore (Oh, but it's "legal" so that;s fine and dandy) and then we have a guy who cheats on his wives. Seriously, three wives?! Fuckkkk.

The friends I was discussing politics with? Die hard Romney supporters.
Hiding money offshore is legal, but you've got to admit it's a flaw in the system, not a flaw with him... However, he plans to lower taxes even further for himself once he's president, so he's not just an average asshole, he's an asshole that WANTS to be more of an asshole... It's assholeception

It's fine if he wants money for himself, but as someone trying to become an american president he sets a shit example. Presidents pay their taxes, they must be excellent people with incredible integrity and very honest, though we'll never see one like that. Ever. Also, it says a lot that he is exploiting as many flaws in the system as possible while Obama pays his taxes.
Obama: One wife.
Gingrich: Three.

Obama: Pays his taxes fairly, no hidden money.
Romney: Lies, changes political views at his whim, buys votes, and hides money offshore, exploiting flaws in the system.

The only truly honest man in the race though, is Ron Paul. If it was him VS Obama, I'd probably vote for Ron, but it won't end up like that so Obama gets my vote in the end.

Changing the topic again, I just got an awesome new Cordoba acoustic-electric Ukulele(Tenor). Awesome tone and plays well. It's also got it's own built-in two band EQ settings. Pictures to come when I get a chance.

I've always wished I could play an instrument IRL, like a guitar or something.

I always wanted to play the drums for some reason. I mean, all I can play are melodic instruments, the piano and cello... damn, the cello sounds so good.

This is technically an electric cello, and it ends up sounding a lot like some kind of synthetic saxophone or whatever, but I think that just makes the song that much cooler.

That's a nice little remix. Love the sounds, especially the fingerpicking and imitation percussion. It also reminds me that a loop station is next on my list of things to get. Or an EQ pedal, but I've got a decent amount of EQ control right now.

I've got a good amount of percussion experience myself, and an old Royale drum kit sitting around. Don't play it much anymore, though.

You really should give it a go man, its not anywhere near as hard as people think (though theory can be pretty offputting at first).
If you're willing to put the time in to get the basics down then its up to you how far you want to go, complexity-wise.

And you can enjoy/appreciate/interact with music in a whole new way

Just the way the things work.
I've never encountered anything I couldn't accomplish, bar physically. But really if I put time into working out I dont doubt that wouldn't be any different.
And I'm not bragging, its not because I'm super-gifted or anything, everyone can accomplish anything if they put the time in.

Goddamn that's cliche

True, true. I started with percussion. I had a good rhythm, but I just couldn't handle a kit. Too much multitasking. A week later I had it down(though nothing amazingly complex), and a stuck with it for 4 years or so before branching out to another instrument.

I ended up picking up a guitar, and having a good year or so of playing with it. Then one day I was out getting new strings, and thinking of picking up an acoustic to mess around with. I'd really started liking that sound. Instead, a soprano ukulele caught my eye, and after a little practicing, I ended up picking it up instead. Best decision ever. I've found I'm a lot more comfortable playing a Uku than a guitar.

You should definitely check out some different instruments. A lot of music stores have demo models on display for your pleasure. Might take some time, but the key is to find an instrument you're comfortable playing.
