Fragile Hearts is an anime inspired comedy RPG, with 8 complete episodes in total. It is a remake of the old tech demo version with completely new gameplay and improved areas and layouts.
This game features hilarious anime portraits, 2D environments, and some really funny characters and plot twists. The complete game is now finished and work has begun on the sequel.
PLOT
What do a "wanted" knight, an unemployed witch, a talking cat, and a bumbling old wizard all have in common? They're all charged with the generic RPG task of finding the "Chosen one" and fulfilling a tired prophecy to save the world from a resurrected evil overlord! Follow a small band of "replacement" heroes as they do their best to foil the evil toils of the overlord. You'll meet many interesting characters along the way, like Amia, the crippled dominatrix, Poko, a blob that everyone wishes would die, and Iggsley, some stupid kid's imaginary friend.
SPECIAL FEATURES
-An animal recruitment system -8 full length episodes -Consequential endings which will drastically change the world for the sequel -Boasting with extra content, including a director's cut (development hell)

After doing some digging I found this comment (quoted in bold italics below) on RPG Crisis by Lyricalias
As you all probably know, RPG Maker 2003 is notorious for having a really slow battle system. I never really experimented much with fixing the issue, but I just opened it up and managed to get the ATB bars to fill up very fast:
Change your heroes so that their agility is low - like, level 1 = 1 agility low. The end point for Agility progression should be like 100 or maybe 200.
Now, go to your monsters and change them so they balance along - weak enemies having 1 agility, in other words. Bam, fast battles.
I have no idea if this is commonly known or what, but I've played a lot of RPG Maker games with mind-numbingly slow battles, so I thought I'd share.
So you could give that a try and if it works maybe post a topic in our own 2K3 forum that explains this and acknowledges credit to this person as well.
Edit: Unfortunately, it sounds as if that means monsters will theoretically match the player's agility 1 for 1, which sort of takes the edge off who will fight first, but a faster battle system may be worth the sacrifice.
