What happened to murder and mystery?
Nothing, I just wanted to do something with this Idea I had before the Murder and Mystery idea since it was already a lot stronger in form.
Besides, I think I may want to co-op with someone on that, I'm not a great writer guy, if I write the whole main chunk of the mystery, something is going to bug the hell out of me.
Consider this a filler and something I'm better at.

Also, this story does not take place in Alsta.
I want to say something more about that, but it could potentially kill the big reveal.

-------------------
On Nethalla, the continent of Marose has a cruel and unfortunate location on the map.

Every couple of years, a strange castle materialises nearby the humble village of Bluethorn, it stays for 24 hours before vanishing in the same manner as it appeared.
After the first few times of appearing, Bluethorn slowly grew in popularity, adventurers, warriors and brave and foolish average people challenged the castle and were never seen again.

What manner of devil rests in this strange and curiousity filled castle?
What is the cause of its inconsistency with staying nearby Bluethorn?
Only those curious and brave enough can find out...

------------------

Objectives and what are we doing?
We are a group of people, adventurers, soldiers or just brave fools that want to find out what is really going on in this castle and why friends and family have not returned from within.

We must venture forth and find the cruel beast that is lord or lady of the Castle and avenge our lost ones.
On the way, we must attempt to find some kind of evidence of the past adventurers such as their family emblem or weapon.
of course, don't forget, we must make it out within 24 hours. Hopefully.

----------------
Nethalla and YOU!
Nethalla is pretty empty, so theres a lot to be imagined and created on your part, Aside from Bluethorn and an unnamed and unmentioned Castle Town owned by king Unnamed so feel free to invent your own villages or cities for use in this RP. Not that we can actually visit them within the RP itself, at least not immediatly maybe. Most of the RP will take place within the Castle.
Just make sure that your city/village/whatever takes the form of a typical Fantasy setting.
As for other mythical races within Nethalla, I haven't prepared any for this RP, please don't use one from World of Alsta, just leave that be for the moment. wink.gif
I hate to sound like a jerk if you liked the Diagans or Remalre, but they don't fit in this world, but please, if you want to come up with your mythical race for Nethalla, please do, but make sure to write a paragraph or two to describe them a bit so others can use that too.

Magic in Nethalla
Nethallians can cast some magic in the form of a barrier, represented by a glowing ball of light of colour, typically the colour is different for each person, of course, multiple people can share the same colour. The shape of the barrier can take the form of either a ball or flattened into a plane.
The Barrier itself is usually small, often half the size of the casters body, the Barrier can typically be used to defend against objects hitting oneself, but requires too much concentration and physical strength to actually use against rapidly fired objects, its only as strong as you are in body and mind.
The barrier has weapon like properties as it can be ‘thrown’ a fair distance before vanishing and needing to be recast.
The barrier itself requires one hand to use, some warriors often use their Barrier for quick short ranged bludgeon like attacks and their weapon in the other hand for a finishing blow.
The colour and strength of the barrier is known to alter in shade and strength through aging.

Character Sheet

Name:
Nickname: (If your character is a popular person as an adventurer, maybe they have a nickname)
Age:
Sex: (YES.... PLEASE.... i love you! tongue.gif )
Occupation: (Not only adventurers can head forth into the Castle, what does your character do for a living? You can't be royalty, it just wouldn't be right for prince phil to run into a castle like so.)

Weapon: (Can your character handle a sword or a different weapon? If not, consider they take at least a knife or dagger)
Equipment: (you should be smart enough to take some useful equipment with you considering no one has yet made it out of the Castle. Think about taking some medical supplies or food, or tools even! Its up to you, but 3 seperate items only please. And please don't worry too much about this, you might forget about it anyway.)
Barrier Colour: (Read the Barrier section to get a better understanding of this if you haven’t already)

Past Adventures: (Tell us about a group of bandits your character may have slaughtered, or perhaps a cave you ventured into that held a magical item.)
Other interesting things: (Optional, but would help with the lore of the world of Nethalla as your character is not required to be from Bluethorn or even the continent of Marose)
Reason for heading into the Castle: (Fame, fortune or glory or some other silly sentimental reason)

-----------------

Rules and Notes

Be cool, your character isn't invincible, infact, since the bulk of this RP (assuming we get far) takes place within a fixed location, there isn't a place to get healed aside from some supplies your own character or another might have taken with them.
If your character does die, don't worry, be cool. There will be a way for you to rejoin the RP, almost like how I've had the option for this in the WoA RP's.

Don't control another users character, at most, I would say do this to progress the story if the user seems to have vanished. But otherwise, do not control another users character.

No Magic blasting, as said in the magic section, it takes a great deal of concentration and body and mental strength to use the barrier.
So consider character stress, you're in castle you're unfamiliar with, its dark aside from torches you have and those in the halls of the castle itself. Your going to find it hard so consider the Barrier Magic at most, a last resort that you put your all into.

If you have to leave AND you know you have to leave, please make sure to hand your character over to another user.
Otherwise they are either likely to be killed or left behind in a horrible hell hole. Could you have that on your conscience?
On the plus side, there will be chances to rejoin if you do want to come back.

You can have multiple characters, but please try to have 3 at max.
I'll probably be having a few myself, but mainly for story purposes.
Also, there will be chances to pick up another character later on.

A word of warning, the castle will not follow logical building layouts. Example, the Kitchen could lead to the bedroom which leads to the dungeons. The Architects sound really awesome.
Speaking of which, feel free to have a search through their kitchens and bedrooms, food is probably rotten, but take whatever you find!

What could be inside an abandoned castle that could really kill a bunch of warriors? Ok, so this is one of them old fashioned disappearing castles, but really, what could be inside?

Consider that your character doesn't really know where the Castle emerged from. Also, the castle has been appearing for several hundreds of years, coming and going as it pleases. What does your character REALLY think about this? Is it some kind of sign from a god? Or maybe just an immortal witch playing violent and cruel jokes? Who knows!?

You know, there's probably a reward or something for getting through the castle and making it out alive. Like a gold reward to share between the group or something, that'd be cool. All that glorious gold! But wait... you don't know the others, not really at least. And no one on the outside would really know... if one of them happened to just ... actually, never mind...

Feel free to PM me to explain anything, or even ask if you can do something cool, I dunno what though.
Of course, you can just ask in the topic itself, but do it either way, its your choice.

---------------------------------------------------

My starting character for this one, I will probably edit it a bit later and also make a second and third character

Name: Edward Witherrain
Nickname: Raider Killer by most of the Bluethorn warriors, although many other warriors in the village share the same title so it’s not used often
Age:24
Sex:male

Occupation: Was a hunter before he became an adventurer
Weapon: a simple iron sword, he’s skilled at archery however
Equipment: A small backpack containing a loaf of bread, 3 water skins and some bandages
Barrier Colour: green

Past Adventures: During the sea raider invasion, Edward helped defend the village. He was considered one of the most valuable warriors during the battle.
During his adventures, he also helped a group in a treasure hunt in Greenwood Forest, although no real worthwhile treasure was found.
Other interesting things: Born and raised in Bluethorn, Edward became an adventurer at 20 and left the village to explore the country for a few months, aiding those who needed help.
His father (Richard Witherrain) is a skilled armourer and can make fine leather armour. Edward’s Mother passed away 10 years ago, something Edward blames the Castle for.
Reason for heading into the Castle: Edward wants to avenge his mothers passing, which he blames on the castle. He also hopes to find something valuable to sell and move to another village.

Hopefully, we start in a couple of days.
Cheer up.

So...We can make our own races...Okay. -snaps fingers- Time to get to work.

Name: Siegfried Helge

Nickname: -None as of yet-

Age: 21

Sex: Male

Occupation: Knight Errant

Weapon: Halberds

Equipment: Food rations, a rope with a grappling hook attached to the the end of it and a backpack which he uses for storing things.

Barrier Colour: Light blue

Past Adventures: (You will probably need to read the race info I posted below to understand this properly.)
Born in an average class family in Stahlburg, Siegfried dreamed, since young age, of joining The Silver Swords. As soon as he reached the age of ten, he went to deliver his speech to the other members...And was denied. He tried again the next year and this time was accepted with 55% of the votes in his favor.

Not really many seeing action yet, as he just started his pilgrimage. Most of his adventurers so far consisted of him accompanying his teacher while he was a squire, at that time, he fought alongside his teacher as they defeated inumerous groups of bandits and other creatures that caused havoc...Though his teacher did most of the job, really.

Other interesting things:

As you may have noticed, Siegfried isn't human, he is, actually a member of a very scarce race called Lanzenreiter. The Lanzenreiters are quickly told apart from other races due to their height and thin torsos. Unlike in humans, most of the Lanzenreiter's organs are on their upper torso, the lower party having only mostly veins and arteries but being more resistant in comparison to the rest of the body. They are also known for having low aptitude for magic, causing them to not only be bad at using it, but also not very resistant against it. They make up in that, however, with physical prowess, brought by their naturally tall and muscly figures.

Culturally wise they are known for being excellent blacksmiths and warriors, and since they're a very scarce community, most of the Lanzenreiters seen out in the world are either merchants trying to sell their crafts or sellswords. Their capital is Stahlburg, the city of steel, one of the main economic points of Nethalla thanks to the insane amount of commerce around crafts and jewelry in that area. Not all Lanzenreiters are blacksmiths, however. As stated before, they're also known to be talented warriors. This is because all official Lanzenreiter warriors are part of an order called The Silver Blade, which works as a sort of mercenary police for Stahlburg and any other places which might offer enough payiment. Joining the order is not easy, however. If one wishes to join The Silver Blade, they must start their training very soon, most start it at the age of ten.

Firstly, the candidate must come to The Silver Blade headquarters and, once in there, they must present a speech to all of the members of The Silver Hand, once he is done with his speech, the members who heard it hold a voting to decide whether or not the kid will be allowed to join the order. If denied, the boy can try again in the next year as many times as he wants, as long as his age doesn't go over fifteen. Once approved, the members who are interested in taking trainees stand up to be the kid's tutor. The young warrior gets to choose his tutor out of the candidates and becomes that man's squire, following his tutor in any adventures or jobs he might receive and being teached in the way of combat during their free time.

They both keep like this until the Squire reaches the age of twenty, at this moment, the Squire is now called an Knight Errant and is then sent out on a pilgrimage around the world. He is to travel around and do his best to prove his combat skills by achieving fame and glory in any way he finds fit. Needless to say many do not come back from that pilgrimage, either due to their deaths or due to the fact that they don't find anything good enough to make them "worthy".

Once that step is passed however, and the Knight Errant reports back to The Silver Sword, they are then made a full member of the order, gaining access to all of the order's training facilities and are allowed to share their combat skills and tricks with the other members freely.

More Lanzenreiters

Reason for heading into the Castle:

On his pilgrimage, Siegfried is trying to obtain the glory of figuring out what happened to all of the previous Silver Hand members, even full-fledged members, who went into the castle and never came back. Among those his own ex-tutor, who tried to brave the castle and was then never seen again.

Edit: GOD DAMNIT, YOUTUBE TAGS, Y U NO WORK?
