Yeah, we've all had those games where we have idiot and/or bad teammates, and it's even more common if you don't play in a group of friends. But sometimes I'm one of those bad teammates.

I'm requesting a refund for Brand and Urgot. I recently bought Urgot to try him out. I played him in a bot game and dominated like no other. I was immediately impressed and thought of him as totally OP. So I played a PvP game. We lost indefinitely. Urgot became extremely difficult to play for me. His Noxian Corrosive Charge + Acid Hunter combo is perfect lane bullying and harassing and is so much fun to use, but I can never secure a kill because a.) I have no Runes and the damage isn't as good as desired and b.) I'm squishy and they can return good damage easily.

I'm usually underfed by mid game and I slack a lot as Urgot. His ult is highly situational for me and I cannot use it correctly to save my life. I keep forgetting to use my shield ability for the CC and the ability to soak damage and I focus too much on keeping my mouse on my target with Acid Hunter to realize I am charging into minions or getting intercepted by their jungler or bottom laner. (I usualy play mid as Urgot since he NEEDS to solo lane according to the builds I read. And I play even worse as Urgot if I lane with another person.)

Over all, Urgot is a fun champion but he gets too frustrating and difficult for me. So I decided to request a refund.

And as for Brand, I just don't play him often. I used to be able to get kills with him, but recently I just get 0 kills and maybe 1-2 deaths and rely heavily on creep score. Combo mages are fun and do massive damage, but they're just not for me.

Yeah, had a champ or two like that myself. I used to play a very evil Karma, AP/CDR focused and could generally turn around team fights. I got so good with her shieldnuke that I could more or less take any lane and dominate. Then I took a hiatus from LoL for a couple months, and I just haven't been able to get the hang of her again. Still play her on occasion, but I'm nowhere near as good as I used to be, and most people hate Karma and consider her unreliable, so if I die even once they complain.

I am getting better with Varus, though. I can generally snipe low health champs and get through most games with 2-4 deaths at most, and I've actually gotten compliments for being a competent Varus, compared to the massive wave of people still getting used to him. My favorite moment so far was when an enemy Varus and I fought 1v1. We both launched 3 AAs, then E, then 3 more, and then Q'd at the same time. Killed eachother at the same time.

I like playing Brand when they send AD carries to mid, because I do massive damage to them with a combo. Especially Varus. He hits his slow on me, and before he charges his Q, my Conflagration + Sear stuns him and prevents it, and I use Pillar of Flame for the 25% extra damage, ignite, then use Pyroclasm and it's instant kill.
It's strange, because right after I posted that rant about Urgot and Brand, I got 4 kills and 8 kills as Brand in two games. It's not too good, but it's better than 0.

That's the one problem I have with Varus, his Q is easy to interrupt. Anyone with a gap-closing move or quick long range attack can stop it, which is why positioning is so important with him. During team fights I've always found it best to get off as many AAs as possible, then ult the enemy(immobilizing them), then back off and send a fully charged Q at them. If you aim right, you can get the first hit(which does 100% damage) to nail their AD or tankier characters before going through and hitting the squishy champs with reduced damage, which is still a moderate amount to them.

I really try to keep my distance from champs like Lux, Brand, Veigar or Zilean. Anyone with heavy nuking abilities will take him out quick, unless you sacrifice some AD/AS for MR. The best way to deal with them seems to be maxing out Q as early as possible to maximize his sniping ability. I try not to use his Q or E unless I've stacked blight on them, but his Q is quite possibly the longest ranged harass in the game, even beating Kog's.

My new favorite thing: Laning with someone with clairvoyance. Makes sniping the turret-hugging low health squishy much easier if your minions aren't close enough to give you sight of them.

Been playing Talon a lot and I'm loving him, every game I played I went bot with a support and I ended up carrying by just having a rushed Sheen and Bloodthirster. When it comes to team fights I generally get a triple kill in all of them, his ult is ridiculoussssss. + Exploiting the attack animation reset from his Q allows me to do 2 hits in 1 allowing for 100-0 bursting with just my E - Q -W combo. Then if they live I jump ahead of them with my R and watch the blades slice through the enemy and kill them.

I can't play Talon because of how susceptible to harassing he is in early game. I can't get a last hit on a minion without taking damage from someone else, and I don't like using Rake to get it, because it uses up precious mana that I normally use for harassment myself.

Talon's pretty awesome. I haven't played him, but I have yet to lane with a bad Talon.

On Varus, I've noticed something interesting. Maybe I'm just seeing things, but it seems his auto-attacks do more damage the farther you are away. Sometimes I end up right next to minions and don't seem to do that much(until I get my infinity edge), but when I'm attacking from max range it seems to do a lot more.

Oh God, Shen is free this week. I main as Shen/Jax, so if the enemy knows what he's doing when he plays Shen, he'll be one of the most annoying enemies to fight. I take pride in being an annoying Shen, hopefully others won't.

But also hopefully they choose Nautilus as their tank instead... Even though he's an annoying tank to fight as well.

And I hate the guts out of Mordekaiser. Since he's free, I'm going to have the hardest time laning if he chooses my lane.

I've tried every single one of this week's free roster except for shyvanna and kennen, which I will be excited to play with.

Yeah Mordekaiser and Shen free will be annoying, but at least their will be more bad players of them, just like the many bad Vladimirs that appeared last week.

My build:
Amp tome + pot for starting with ap/level runes except for magic pen marks.
First back after 1 or 2 kills I build Sorcerer Boots and a Hextech Revolver, eventually becoming a Will of The Asians, then I build a Spirit Visage with my next item being a Deathcap. If the match lasts longer than that I build a Rylai's Crystal Scepter and finishing with a 2nd Deathcap because the hp to ap ratio sucks, it's more worth it to get ap for hp.

Heard about this a lot around the uh, watercooler, and figured I'd give it a go. Unfortunately, looks to be one of those games you've gotta be really into to play though.

I dno if this games really unbalanced or I just got some unlucky matchups early on when I was testing out the characters but it seems like rape is inevitable unless I play as the dragon lady or the ninja cat...
(How annoying are players that seemingly completely ignore the objective, just treating it like a deathmatch sort of thing. One match one person stayed in the lower bushes to ambush the entire game, never tried to take out a tower or anything, and even stayed there when we stopped going down there, super annoying since she was the gun girl -_-)

Well Kaust, are you new to the game? If so, that might just be you being matched against idiots or smurfs. A lot of high-skill players make smurf accounts to faceroll new players. Other people make separate accounts to troll. Generally some new players won't even play a few bot games before jumping straight into PvP to hone skill on any champion they prefer to play or nail down the basics of the game.

LoL is constantly changing, with every patch there might be a buff or nerf to one or more champions to keep balance. It's not always perfect, and sometimes the nerf or buff isn't enough or is too much. That's part of being in a massive mulitplayer online game. The staff wants the players to have the best experience playing the game, and that includes trying their best to balance the game. Players will find new ways to play a certain champion, and if it is wildly successful, people will cry for a nerf.

Weak. A ban of unspecified length because I got disconnected a couple of times. I get that they would penalise leavers but since I seem to encounter deliberate leavers in just about every game you'd think they'd find a better system that doesnt so heavily affect accidental leavers as much as deliberate ones (like losing a % of your Influence Points or something).

Yeah, Parakeet, I started this week, fortunately I've got a couple of friends that play it so I can get a decent game with them now and then, also not getting raped so much now I'm at the point where a smurf would either start anew or return to their old acc and now that there are a more diverse choice of champions (though I still play ninja cat now and then ).

Yeah, MOBA game player bases are some of the worst out there (even worse than Call of Duty and other competitive games). If you leave one game, be it accidental or on purpose, they will report you as fast as possible. It creates a 5v4 scenario that is demoralizing (and angering) to them, even though there are several games that I lost even when it was 5v4, my team having the 5 players.

In other news, is anyone else finding Darius ridiculously and hilariously powerful?

I played him on the beta client and his hemmorhage and ult are ridiculoooouuuusssss.

Btw I've been in a 2v5 match while I was playing Janna and we had a fed Yi left, he bought 5 trinity forces and boots and rushed their nexus while they were pushing and we won. Somehow..
But.. PULSEFIRe EZREAL WHERE?
