It's a contest entry for maidenroseheart on Mene ^u^ we had to draw her with an angel from Ah! My Goddess!
I haven't watched that anime XD so it was kinda hard, but I tried to imitate the original style a little.

The background is beautiful! ^^

You did good on the wings, but I'd recommend that you add more layers of feathers for a more dramatic appeal.
Also, you're a lot better than most I've seen, however you still need to work on the hands/fingers a bit more (that's not a bad thing, it just means a bit more practice).

The outfit for the girl on the left is amazing! Well done there. =]

The faces/hair are great, but I really thought the transparent arm covers you have (on the goddess) are really quite neat and you did a good job with them. ^^

Overall it looks superb! Keep doing these! =D

You should practice both! o: I wish my pixel skills were better, because I suck at pixel art, but I almost never do any, so what can I expect? orz

On the wings, I didn't do so because I wanted it to have an anime screenshot-y feel o: again, thank you! c: I love getting constructive crits.

I've watched a lot of anime, and any of them that have wings (except for anime like Lucky Star, which is mostly a comedy) do a lot of work on making the wings extravagant and complex (sometimes only a single layer but a lot of detail, and other times with many layers of feathers).
DNAngel is an example, and even Ah! My Goddess uses two layers with complex detail.

Just trying to see why you believe animators don't add much detail or complexity to their wings. 0.o

Well, it's not that they don't add details, but if you let them draw with time, I bet they'd do much better and their wings could have a lot more detail, it's not that they don't, already ^-^' it's just that animators have to draw quickly, so they can't give a lot of details to the picture, haha.

Yes, I'm sure if animators had a lot more time that anime would probably looks almost realistic (knowing the artists that are friends of mine, as they are very picky). XD

Runespeak is a rune-based language featured in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, used for mostly witch/familiar names, it's pretty sweetass imo.
