Just wandered into here and checked the first post, so I'll apologize if this has been suggested before, but could you please try to break away from the RTP-esque graphical style of the game's tilesets? I like the art style used in the example character conversation portrait, so I really have to ask why you don't work on getting the tilesets to match the style as well.'

EDIT:

Now that I have browsed the topic a bit, I think you should probably update the content of your first post with some of the new art you've showcased (and maybe delete the old screenshots using the RTP tiles).

I lack any and every skills needed for landscaping, honestly I am getting tired of trying and failing, and starting to get awfully frustrated.
I'm not going to give up on this, but I just think that maybe, it'd be better if I used the RTP tiles, and sometime later, when I actually have the skills to draw a decent background that doesn't look like a junction of green blobs and spikes, remake the game.
What do you guys think? Your opinion is pretty important to me...
If I do change to RTP, I promise to double the amount of full artwork cutscenes! biggrin.gif

Do what you need to in order to get your game completed, but don't sell yourself short. I believe you have the skill to do this, but it will take a lot of time. It is not a bad idea to stat with RTP just so you can envision how things go or can work on scenes in the game and not focus so much on mapping. Coming back to it is not a bad idea, just make sure that in the end, you love what you've done with your game.

Too much open space, not enough detail, more randomness in natural areas, etc.

The map shop is open for business, the finished product is pmed to you, also my map packs have some maps in there you can look off of or even use. sweat.gif

Mark. Although I'm sure you want people to see your Map Shop. But please stop making posts advertising the Map Shop. Instead perhaps stick it into your signature! tongue.gif ~Jonnie19

You are such the advertiser XD. She is a skilled mapper, I've seen some of her more recent work and it is a major improvement, so I hope we'll see some screen shots of it soon!

Woah! That looks alot better. Perhaps a little too much repetition of tiles, such as the plants, and the suits of Armor smile.gif But still it is alot better, I'm just being over fussy happy.gif

Could you please update your first post? The stuff you have there doesn't represent the progress you are making on this project at all. sad.gif

On the screen, I don't understand why there is a tuffet next to a king's throne, but other than that it's better than your previous work.

@Jonnie: pfft, repetition is awesome tongue.gif jk, I may try to do some edits of small tileset things to add more... liveliness to my game, and edit things a bit later~ thanks for the advice!

@Ratty: What should I change in the first post? o:
Also cookie has a very particular style XD I might just include some plushies there~ like a panda!

It really helps people if any updates that are posted in the thread are put in the first post, that means if someone new clicks on the topic all the relevant information is up to date and shows true progress.

We also advise - and this is a general thing to all- that topics are kept spam free and easy to read through,

Love the Cookie sprite, but there is the concern it will clash with your soft coloring style.
