I decided to post a sketch of my 5th paperchild. I wanted to color it digitally this time and of course cut it out like I usually do. I think this is my best paperchild so far. Very happy with this one. ^^ This isn't the final version as I still need to fix a few things, but I just wanted to get it out there.

Thanks and I've actually never heard of D.GreyMan until now, actually. Wow such a close coincidence in the name.. ^^;

Oh it used to be a blast, the sad thing was I wasnt much of a artist back then so I couldnt fully appreciate all the art posted back then but I did enjoy it. Now days I have to be picky for some reason. I really like your work cause it has a theme to it, the fox/cat ppl is interesting, I just post random stuff but I wish I could focus on just one theme like your doing.

Yeah I focus more on anthropomorphic characters; they're so much fun to draw. ^^

A program like gimp doesn't necessarily help you out. All it is, is a different type of media on its own. It's like learning to use color pencils then going to learn painting. it's something completely new. Gimp is just a digital media. I would suggest if you rather use pencil then use it. Let me put it this way, I didn't start using gimp until this year, actually and I've been drawing since 2008

Digital media is nice though ' v '; you can try out different poses, erase as much as you want, try different anatomy/body ratios, etc.
It's also easy to try different colouration or shading techniques. But with technology comes the cost of money...

... Plus, I find it extremely difficult to get body proportions and positions right when drawing digital... but maybe that's just me?

Exactly.

As for the proportion and positions, I'm guessing maybe using a computer screen can be different for viewing the drawing rather than seeing the real thing? I wish I could say, I sketch my drawings with pencil before doing the rest on gimp. ^^;

So another update



A failed sketch perspective of a close up on that little ball Kate was holding. It was meant to be a close up of that little ball, however, well this became the result. Nevertheless, the other perspective on its own came out quite well, so it deserved the upload as well as the digital transition it'll get. ^^
...
As the for the "ball" you see there, I'm planning on using it for my story that I've been developing for almost 6 years now. The designs are more of a concept just to fill the gap of an empty sphere it would otherwise be.

Time for another update!



A sketch of a character who I haven't drawn in over a year. I'm not sure why waited to do so, I rather enjoyed drawing her years ago.
-
I decided to practice some poses and perceptive and got a rather interesting result. I'm quite happy with this although a few things need to be fixed before heading off into gimp.

Thank you very much. I'm happy to know that I've been improving, and hopefully I can put these drawings through gimp soon as I've been very busy lately.

Now here's a character who doesn't get any attention at all. Suzette deserves more than this, so I wanted to draw her. She is my favorite minor characters in Solartorobo and sadly; only has one official drawing, so I had to use my imagination for her shirt and jacket and got a great result from this. I'm really proud of this one. ^^

I've been wanting to draw Edward for a couple of years now and thought the time was right to do so. She's pretty much my favorite character in Cowboy Bebop(barely beating Spike as my favorite.) She's a fun and confusing character and I hope I showed some of her crazy personality in this drawing. Overall, I'm pretty content with this drawing. ^^

She is awesome and thanks a lot. I will color her as soon as I can as I have a growing pile of drawings that need to be colored too. ^^;

Update time! ^^



Another character who I've been ignoring as of late too. I haven't drawn her in a while and noticed how chibi the older drawing of her was. Rain is one of the villains in my story, so gave her more character to which the older drawing lacked. I'll put out a bio for her soon enough. ^^

She looks like she's ready to get someone! XD

I did notice that her hips seem out of place. Either the entire body needs to be adjusted back a little, to line up properly with her hips/thighs, or her thighs/legs need to move forward a bit to balance out properly.
It's just a matter of getting those hips to look right, but other than that it looks pretty good. ^^
