Bumping this with the info (info which you probably already know but meh): The full version is out! Of course it's the Japanese version and you won't be able to get it without having a mail and billing address there or knowing someone who do and could buy it for you. However, you can download and take a look at the full RTP: http://www.famitsu.com/freegame/rtp/vxace_rtp.html.
Personally, I find the battlers and battlebacks pretty neat. The music is also an improvement over VX. Unfortunately, the lack of actor facesets and sprites, as well as any kind of futuristic tileset is a disappointment.

Excellent! I'm going to check out the full RTP. I heard a sampling of the music previously, and while there are some pieces I wasn't too keen on, overall it was a big improvement and had some decent melodies.
I figured they'd give a large display of actors and sprites, but then again since we can make our own with the included generator, they probably didn't think there was much point.
As for tilesets, I agree, Enterbrain needs to think outside of the box in terms of genre and create some decent future sets (including battlers and sprites). But I am looking on the bright side of this. While we did get a lot of random sets and edits for VX, I don't believe we ever scratched the surface in comparison to what older makers received, including popular rips from SNES games. Part of that, I believe, was due in part because regardless of what tilesets you wanted to create, you were always confined to 5 sheets. While SwapXT broke this limitation, some found the added program a hassle since the only way to study and edit your maps was to constantly swap between each map. Perhaps it was not worth the time and effort to create more tilesets. But now with VXA, you can have unlimited tilesets, each map with their own A_E tabs. I'm really hoping this will drive the energy for people to start editing some of the more popular RM2K(3)/XP tilesets into the new VXA format. But then again, if not, at least we have all of our previous edits that can now be modified into better templates.

Okay, Rukiri over rpgmakervxace.net stated that you can eventually buy a hard copy via amazon.jp and use Japan to Door for the shipping (this service gives you a mailing address in Japan). I won't try it myself but if you really can't wait for the English version, you might want to check it out.

Yeah, it's cool seeing the RTP.
The lack of new facesets is very disappointing, especially with all those "main character-ish" people that have battlers, but no sprites or facesets. I guess it's up to the community then?
There sort of is sci-fi tiles. Look at the metal tile and walls, that's for the "Factory" battlebacks. And that weird blue and purple stuff? That's for the Dark Space, Demonic World whatever it's called stuff.
And if you use the tiles made for the VX blog, there's a very small amount of high-tech map pieces. And some robots. I was hoping those would get matching battlers and facesets, but oh well.

Yay, I'm noted!
I should warn you that you CAN NOT buy the digital version without a JPN billing address, and using a japan to door address will not work! Even if you put it as the billing address, amazon checks the billing address associated with the card. Lucky for me.. I do have a Japanese credit card which I only use for when I'm in Japan, it feeds me while I'm with the family
Use Japan to door and buy a hard copy, if you want the extras purchase from the EB store, I have. I bought 2 hard copies of ace. I will be holding a mapping tournament and the winner gets the serial number and a rip of the CD(I won't be sending you the actual disk) Also note that one use will be for my mom as she's even shown interest in making a game!

These features are cool and all, but the biggest one that I have to ask because it bugged me so much in RPG Maker VX is, will we be able to change and add out own tilesets?

Ace arrived not to long ago, currently installing the sample games that came with it. It's to bad that the English version doesn't get a boxed version as an option, the Japanese box is pretty cool^^
Edit:
I wonder if the English version will come with the sample games? I don't remember the English version of VX coming with anything accept the RTP and software, no games.

Nothing special really. The faces don't really fit in and the choices for the characters are limited.. I wonder if you can add your own parts... If not then yea...

All the parts are stored in a C:/Program Files/Enterbrain/RPGVXAce/Generator (or wherever you installed it to). So yeah, you can add more but it's a lot of work. I bought the full version and there are much more different parts than in the trial though.

Yes and no, no for the fact ruby syntax hasn't changed that much and yes for the fact that many things now use managers such as for scenes and battles(very nifty I gotta say) and for the the fact that it uses the full version of ruby, can't say the same for xp/vx.

I don't see this as a big issue. I mean, you can use the RTP if you want, but with the fact that you can make a game in just about any style, as RPG maker always has been, means you shouldn't feel forced to go with what EB provides.
Either way, I really like the return of the tileset tab in the database and all the other cool features this new engine has. I've always found RMVX to be frustrating to work with at times due to it's limitations, which this maker appears to solve. I can't wait for an English release.

That's true, and with all the sci-fi sets/edits we have, we can easily construct our own sci-fi template with VXA, whereas before we were limited on what sci-fi sets to use or had to use SwapXT. However, I still wouldn't mind an official sci-fi RTP from Enterbrain, similar to the Samurai Pack they released.
