Hi how do I make a enemy on rpg maker 2003 it keeps making these strange battle system all I want is a enemy to kill with a sword instead of going into a battle. and how do you make it so its only your person in the group instead of a bunch of weird looking nerdy guys. any help would be a big help. if you can give a video tutorial that would be great. thanks for any help.

If you are talking about an ABS system, like being able to fight enemies in real time on the map without going into a turn-based battle, this is probably one of the most complicated things to pull of on any of the RM systems. You'd primarily have to be very good (if not excellent) at events, switches, variables, pictures...

Anyways, I don't believe there's a tutorial available, however this was discussed recently, so maybe you can find some insight within this topic:

Edit: As for why it takes you to the "strange" battle scene is because by default the system is a turn-based battle. As for replacing resources (ie., sprites, you'd need to add in new sprites). There's plenty of tutorials available, but since I don't use 2K or 2K3 myself I don't know how much different it would be from XP or VX in terms of size, colors, and resources.

Zelda starter pack for 2k3
You get to make your own zelda games.

Simple enemy would be just the standard movement spritesheet and if they touch you, you get hurt.
I assume 2k3 doesn't have any special scripting system and relies completely on events.

There are several ABS for 2k3 on youtube, but as with most programs people keep everything closed-source and probably refuse to let anyone use it.

Try Ahriman's Prophecy. It's not quite what you're looking for (ie., sword collision, etc), and still is somewhat turn-based, but right on the actual map versus a separate fighting screen. I believe it's open source, so you can see how it was done, and then try to implement it for your own game. Like I said, it may not be what you want, but it may be a starting point.
