So I submitted a completed game a day ago, still hasn't shown up. I figured the approval would be like "whenever a mod is online and can get to it", not like "It says 48 hours, we'll have it approved on hour 48" or something. You don't really get that much completed games for it to be such a pain to have to sort through ALL of them. As far as I'm aware, you're not even approving/unapproving based on the quality of the game, just of the quality of the topic. I mean, all you'd really need to do is lock it and tell people to read if you get dumb topics that don't follow the rules. If you happen to miss one, people minimod a lot here so it's not like the people won't figure it out. Especially the older members who already figured things out and have to wait. Or for the new people who submit, don't read that approval thing, and don't know why it's not showing up (I dunno if mods even PM them to let them know what was wrong with it).

So I dunno, I'm not in favor of this system at all.

Actually, same with the forced commenting in the screenshot topics but that's another issue altogether.

If a game isn't approved, the moderator does PM the member about it not being approved (and usually they are helpful in telling the member what needs to be corrected).
Currently there are a few completed games under moderator preview, so I'm sure that it won't be too long before the moderators of that area take care of yours. =]
Usually you'd just PM them directly though: Sailerius, Harryb412.

As for the rest, I really don't traverse that area often enough to have an opinion on it. =]

Is this on the forum or the main site Oceans- I will get onto it straight away.

If a game does not meet the requirements on the forum the moderators pm the member and tell them what is required, they should be dealt within "within 48hours" that being the maximum time but they are supposed to approve them when they see them- so that the system works properly- and it has stopped substandard games.

We are not approving on the quality of the game as games can be improved on but sub standard topics were causing flame wars.

Edit - have found the one in Completed Games and approved it -

Thanks! Yeah, Well I guess I don't pay attention but I think it'd be silly to cause flame wars over something like that. "Fix your topic in x amount of time or it'll be locked" "OK, then lock" I thought that system would have been fine.

Like most things it should have been that simple - but you know how it is!

There are such a large percentage of threads that don't meet the criteria and don't get improved / resubmitted, that looking through Games Under Construction, there'd be many poor / locked threads. Since this was implemented, you can generally guarantee that there will be something to offer critique over when clicking a thread.

Actually, same with the forced commenting in the screenshot topics but that's another issue altogether.

I think the issue here was people were posting screenshots but not offering critique to others.
