Hello there!

I am excited to be here and I am definitely excited to make my own fighting game. I want to make it in 2D Fighter Maker 2002.

So I came here and visited the downloads section...

http://www.rpgrevolution.com/downloads/2d-...-downloads.html

and since I don't know how to use the program, I decided to download the Help Files or Tutorials. So I did and I attempted to install it.

It says the tutorials installed correctly, but it didn't. I tried running it on my computer and it gave me this error message...

"Windows is searching for 2dFm20002Help.hlp. To locate the files yourself, click the browse button."

It is missing the 2dFm20002Help.hlp file. If possible, can somebody here give it to me please?

I REALLY want to make a video game with this program and these are the only tutorials out there for me that's in English!

Thank you so much for your time!

Sincerely,

Justin

P.S. I am using Windows 7 64 Bit just in case you need to know! Thanks!

The installer does have the tutorials, but doesn't bind them to the editor. You'll have to locate them yourself and open them with Explorer - they're in the directory you chose when you installed them.

Hello, thank you for your response but,

What do you mean by Explorer? Internet Explorer? I tried that and kept asking me to open it with some program.

I tried Notepad but it gave me nothing but numbers, letters and symbols.

I can't figure out how to open them! If there is nothing else I can do, can somebody please provide me other tutorials on how to work 2D Fighter Maker 2002? In English? I know they have tutorials on Youtube but most of them are in Spanish or French.

I would use M.U.G.E.N if it wasn't so darn hard!

Somebody please help me! I want to build a game!

Thanks again!

Not Internet Explorer. Windows Explorer. I mean, you just run the file you downloaded here (it will extract the files) and then open them. They're Windows Help files, you should be able to read them.

What do you mean?

I can't open these files in Windows Explorer! These files are .$$A and .$$B extensions. I tried googling those extensions and nothing came up. Even if I went to <Run> and ran them from there, it would still ask me what to open them up with.

I don't know how to open these files!

I want to follow my dreams by making a fighting game and it's not getting anywhere because there are no good english tutorials for either 2DFighterMaker2002 or M.U.G.EN!

All I want to do is make a video game and I can't even get to the 1st step.

This is what you have inside the download:

As you can see, those are .hlp files, aka Windows Help files. If the contents of your download are different, then you haven't downloaded the help files provided on this site.

I've downloaded the help files, but it turns out that Vista doesn't support the file type anymore.

Quote:

Why can't I get Help from this program?

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which was used in previous versions of Windows and it is not supported in Windows Vista.

For more information, see Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) is no longer included with Windows on the Microsoft support website.

Is there another way to view the help file?
