QUOTE *SUPER SMASH BROS FOR 3DS AND WIIU I turned into a 6 year old and almost cried when I read that. I am a Smash Bros Fan-boy. Seriously. The next few years will be hell for me. I need to go now before I spit fan speculation at you all. The WiiU looks freaking awesomely twisted though.

I think I understand the Wii U, it's new controller is basically a hand held while the base(the actual console) is a console. It's a neat idea but I'll wait until I get my hands on it. The wii u also will be using blu-ray optical disks, but I don't think to the capacity of the ps3 but I could be wrong.
The wii u could be awesome or a flop but since it supports the wii controllers I'll be alright, I'll still call it the wii hd though. We should trust Nintendo a bit more than what we are, they did save video games after all.
I like the wii u and I'll be buying it but besides the wii u the nintendo part was a bit boring.. o well it can't be awesome every year..

Meh...I did like about the games they will be releasing for the 3DS. I can't wait for Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Super Mario, and of course...Skyward Sword for the Wii. I can see a HUGE improvement in the graphics compared to the Wii.

QUOTE (Sailerius @ Jun 7 2011, 04:23 PM) Well, Nintendo's conference was a joke. I never thought I'd say this, but for once, Sony had the best conference. Unfortunately, Nintendo's bringing their new console way too late in the game to be relevant. They'll be playing catch up for a long time - the PSV will be a strong competitor against both the 3DS and the Wii U. QUOTE (Zakerot @ Jun 7 2011, 04:58 PM) Wii was such a letdown, Nintendo needs more than that to convince me to buy their next console. I disagree. First they revolutionized gaming with motion controls, which at the time were awesome beyond all belief. After people got tired of it, Sony and Microsoft said "oh hey, it worked for Nintendo, let's make our own motion controlled software!" but people are bored of that. Now Nintendo brings past the power that the Dreamcast could have been, they made it sexier, and they strengthened their staple game series that much more. I want a Wii U (We you?) now that I've seen that bad-fucking-ass controller.

@theonewhoasked: It is true: http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/07/the-wii...s-next-console/ I wanted more Zelda, Tomb Raider and Ghost Recon information. I was pleased with the Uncharted info, game looks awesome. EDIT: Seems I was on the wrong page, forget the link xD

Notice how they said in the last "5" years? Wasn't the original Wii released 5 years ago? It probably happened with all of their consoles they sold.

The main reason for the shares drop seems to be this: It seems like Nintendo has dropped first-party support for the Wii and DS almost entirely in favour of focusing on future projects.
In other words, in the eyes of investors, Nintendo isn't going to be making any money immediately.

QUOTE (MagitekElite @ Jun 8 2011, 03:27 PM) Nintendo not make money? Maybe they will lose the amount they are making now, but even a drop down and they'll still be making money. Its Nintendo. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid etc etc. All the other businesses had to "borrow" their tech and designs and ideas to even continue to be in 2-3rd place.
I don't think they'll stop making any money because a new console's image was released. Now if the rumor of it being 350+ is true, then I think they have a problem...
But as much as I adore Nintendo, I just finally got a Wii and now its all wasted. I won't be getting their next system unless I become a zillion air. $350 is pretty cheap for a home console these days, look at the original prices for the xbox 360 and the playstation 3 when they were released. The arcade was $200, pro was $300, elite was $400, and PS3 just started at $600 more or less because of blu-ray. If this was a portable I'd have a problem with it but it's a home console. And like always never judge anything until you've tried it, you may love it! And I'm glad motion controls are kicking the bucket I mean other than exercise I just want to play the game but not feel like I'm in the arena!

I want a Wii U (We you?) now that I've seen that bad-fucking-ass controller. I wasn't saying it as a fact, it was a personal opinion. When I bought my wii back in 2008 (I think) I just used it for 2 or 3 weeks and went back to my 360. Mainly because I didn't like the motion control and I didn't find much replayability on their games (just FF10 was worth playing more than once) and I just like playing SSBB with someone else, none of my friends liked the wii so I had no one to play SSBB with at home. After two weeks I stopped using it and I completely forgot that I had a wii for almost 3 years and couldn't remember where it was at. It wasn't until a few days back when I wanted to play some SSBB with Terra that I found it. Just saying, Wii U isn't on my list of must have.

And I'm glad motion controls are kicking the bucket I mean other than exercise I just want to play the game but not feel like I'm in the arena! Its not cheap, unless it has completely -- completely -- reamped their system. Its no where near as cheap as the Wii. If they have any hopes of remaking a money-maker like the Wii, they will think hard about the cash. Its half the reason the PS3 staggered when it was released. 500+ is insane! The good thing about the Wii was it was affordable for everyone -- poor, above poor, average, rich and super rich. That's what made Nintendo such a great company, their awesome prices, great games and no "I have to sell a kidney to get that money!". They made it possible to buy their kids what they wanted in a system for Christmas. If its more than 300, their sales will drop. Now I'm not saying to the point where they fall back from 1st place (that would take a long time), but they won't be making as much money as before. I know I may love it, but I won't get it. Why? Because its too much and I only just got enough to finally get a Wii, which will now be complete garbage in 2 years.
