Dear... GOD!
I joined this site just for the purtpose of posting this.

I had big plans, working on a rom-hack of VI to be a SNES version of VII. Having a good time at it. While searching for resources came across the FFVI SDK for RPG maker. Thing is incredible! Ok, so I need some tilesets now... Bit of googling, find... this... this Masterpiece! Words cannot describe the waves of nostalgia that overcome me. Everything is there, materia slots, the battle mechanic...

One thing: Hurry up and finish this! Or at least produce another demo <3

Are you intending on including some of the glitches from the original game, say the w-item item duplication glitch? Or moving enemy sprites? Alot of the enemies in the original were just palette shifted versions, so once you have Soldier1 you could just palette shift it and get the other varieties.
I managed to activate that glitch where you open the menu as the battle starts and skip the battle.

On another note, I have some pretty nice sprites you could use for out of battle if you should like.
Ending on this, I must bow out of this project in light of your obvious superiority, Vanit

I still think, he should upload some sorta upload your file somewhere. so it is backed up.
in a place YOU know about it and only you.
so it doesn't happen like it did with me, almost lost my entire project and felt like giving up.

goodluck!

Hah, I know that feel and have lost projects like that before! Fortunately with this project I've been keeping my working copy and regular backups in a Dropbox synced folder, along with all the assets too. smile.gif

If this is a remake, then u need to update and flesh out everything from the original ok? To bring up to date. The menu and the battle window r still the same, but there's nothing u can do about that, is there?

Why does he need to update and flesh out everything from the original? and what does he need to update and flesh out and bring up to date?

Yeah, look at Star Control 2. It's been re-released as an HD version and they still haven't touched a single thing.

And good job with the spam, slick. At least the topic is still open and not dead, and kraz was providing something useful.

Not that I'm aware, however, that's something you should ask him directly in PM.

He explicitly stated multiple times that this is his project and his alone. He's not releasing anything except the full game and/or demos. Since the whole thing is created in RM2K anyway then it'd be extremely complex to figure out the thousands of events and switch combinations that he's using anyway and he recommended not to even dwell on the possibility.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I must admit, when I first clicked on this topic I thought it was going to be another terrible attempt at some weird frankenstein FF remake that looks hideous and is destined for abandonment, however, I was pleasantly surprised.

This looks really good, I wish you the best and hope that I can play a full version someday.
