Welcome to the latest edition of the R3 news, with a slightly different version this time. As there have been loads of changes on the forum as a whole, we are going to focus on covering these, as well as the usual topic links.

Staring with the most obvious change - the forum layout. we hope that it is now in a more logical layout, .Apart from the Featured Games section, no forum has been removed however you might find that some are now sub-forums of another area.

Rather than describing the whole layout to you all - this topic -Forum Changes covers some of the adjustments.
In brief a few of the others are:

All script forums are sub forums of the Game Engines.
Reviewers forum split into-
Previews ( subforum of Long Demos)
Reviews (subforum of Full Games)
Magazine Forum moved to the Entertainment Section
IRC Chat discussion -sub forum of General Discussion.

Other changes are as such still work in process- but the most obvious one is the new badges. These have since had a revamp and are now fully complete. We've had many designs over the years and this set is a combination of the best bits.

We will be working on both new banners, and a forum skin to complete the look with added extras! So keep a close watch in the future.

Also introducing a new feature here at RRR which some of you have asked about previously and now we've got it all set up and ready to go.

It's as simple as that biggrin.gif

Enjoy making those game trailers and making your project topics more interesting.

If you've not been one for checking out our Gallery then now's the time to do so, it's undergone some massive changes! There's new areas for resources and now it's even easier to find the things you really want!

With that though there comes an apology, we've corrected a mistake which was made during set-up many years ago. Members wondered what the added perks were of being a Revolutionary, with this one of the things was that they'd be able to create their own personal Gallery. This has been for a while open to all groups and has now been reverted back to the system it was originally designed for.

If you'd like to start filling up these new and clear sections then don't be afraid, the views and downloads of images from the main sections are brilliant and it's a great way to get your work used and credited within someone's project, don't forget that the images you post are usually approved within 24~48 hours.

Along with the forum layout and Gallery alterations comes a whole flurry of new staff, and sadly a few retirements.

Nightshade, Nightrunner and Darkblade have left to concentrate on other projects- all three will be missed as their contributions to the site were legendary. We thank them for the the time and commitment and wish them well,

Leagcy has been promoted to Global Mod, and Dark Yoshi is now promoted to full Local Mod status. Rob_Riv has returned to help in the Creative Commons as Local Mod.
- well done and congratulations you three!

There are a few new Rookie Mods and we welcome them to the team-

Sailerious taken over the XP forum and RGSS script forums.
Redd is helping in the XP forum and the Event Emporium.
Niscp and Ominal have joined forces to mod the Role Playing Section.

Whilst browsing around the forum you will come across many members of staff and the different groups they belong to. In order to help you find the right person when you need to, here is a list
If you look under their avatar you will see which group they belong to
The first group you will have dealings with is likely to be the Local Moderator. They moderate their named forums only and are totally responsible for them. Any problems just ask and they will help you.

We also have Rookie Mods- these are new mods learning the ropes-

Next our Global Moderators, they can moderate any area of the forum, and deal with issues that you cannot sort out with your local moderator.

Directors are responsible for the whole forum, they deal with the admin side as well as the hiring of staff. Should you ever have issues or problems that cannot be dealt with by the moderators, send them a pm.

Admin are ientry staff - technical side only - please do not send them requests for anything regarding the forum as this is dealt with by the Directors. (even technical issues need reporting to the Directors in the first instance as they have ways of contacting i entry direct)

Staff contribute to the site, either by producing resources or organising competitions. They are not moderators apart from in their alloted areas.

Gold Members are ex members of staff (usually moderators) who have retired. They cannot moderate forums or deal with warns.

You have met the staff, seen the changes and one other new piece of important information

HarryB412 has some news for you-

Wow!
There have been a lot of changes to the forum lately, but that's not all, there has also been a large change to the IRC channel!
The new official name is now #R3 and me, Robin and Ereth are in charge!
Not only that, but the rules have been completely revised and there is a new shiny quotes thread! [don't worry about necroposting in there, it can be bumped by anyone, anytime]
So if you need help with RM or just want to hang out, remember to click the chat link at the top, right up there ^ or if you have an IRC client then connect to the SynIRC network -irc.synirc.net- and join #R3!

Show your support for the new IRC with this:

What's that HarryB412? You have MORE news.....

More news

So, X-M-O has been doing a brilliant job with his competitions, but I think it's my turn and I'm going to be reviving an old classic- Project of the Month!
Noticed a Long Demo or Complete Game that is completely brilliant or has bags of potential and think it deserves more recognition? Nominate it for Project of the Month! Better get there quick though, there's a limit of 10 nominations, that's only 5 long demos and 5 complete games! [y'know, in case you haven't got a calculator handy].
The winner will get a special userbar to fit snug in his/her signature along with a forum wide announcement! More details in the thread, so get there now!

Kread-Ex
A newly active member, munkis, provided us with a large array of new scripts for our RMVX users. Notably two main menus (the simple menu and the DOOM-styled menu) and a Difficulty Selector. He also posted an new Action Battle System, Yggdrasil made by IceDragon - with the author's consent of course. You should check it out as it's a valid alternative for people dissatisfied with Requiem or Verus Tempus.
This list is not exhaustive so I'll exhort you to consult the RGSS2 Master Script List to see the changes or simply display munkis' started topics
