Has anyone heard any songs recently that are just in your head no matter how much you listen to them? Well, post 'em here to share with the world (or this forum...)!
Some of you might know this from No More Heroes. I came across it when looking into the NMH re-release on PS3 a few days ago, and soon after it found a special place on my mp3 player.
But it's just so goddamn catchy! I can't stop listening to it! I honestly think I'm going crazy.
By the way, the song is Heavenly Star, by the Genki Rockets and yes, all their videos are an epileptic's worst nightmare.

YES. I always have a song in my head, usually the same song for weeks at a time lol. I was hooked on A Perfect Circle's song Blue until 2 or 3 days ago, now my current obsession is Oasis doing a live acoustic version of their normally-not-acoustic song Where Did it All Go Wrong. It's AMAZING D.: Noel puts SO MUCH emotion in it, as opposed to the album version which just sounds like a cool song. This version totally chokes me up with all the emotion he put in it. I'm VERY picky about my slow songs, but this one is definitely a winner

This song... It is godly. I have had it looped for 4 hours at least. I had played it until my MP3 Player's battery died. Epic song and just really loopable. <33333

This song is catchy! D=<
There aren't too many songs that are just crazy catchy like this, and whether or not I like the songs... I can't stop singing them (or attempting to, because I can't sing in Japanese very well, lol).

That song is in fact catchy. I haven't been stuck listening to any songs recently, but if so, it would be these two songs that are very catchy to me:

This one was another one that I loved. I usually only had the first guitar part and the first bit of whistling stuck in my head though. But, that's usually more than enough to make me want to listen to it a dozen times. (Wild Arms) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajMRQnhQ9zU
This one is my ringtone, I figure since I randomly start singing it I might as well drop the other ball and just give myself a reason for always having it on my mind. (Tailspin) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsQTzxzDYjw

The first thing I think off when I hear music is the 80's cause that was the prime time of music IMO. Artists like Van Halen, Metallica, Rush, and many more are what I think were the best. Now don't get me wrong I like modern stuff too. Modern artists like Rise Against, Shinedown, Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge and so on. Aside from Rock and Roll I do listen to other genres of music. There are some techno artists that I do like but they only consist of Daft Punk and Basshunter. Now i'm pretty sure there are some people like this and tend to listen to music from certain animes (mainly openings and endings) but there are a few good ones like: "Ichirin No Hana" - Bleach 3rd OP "Be Your Girl" - Elfin Lied ED "Sora Iro Days" - Tengen Toppa Gurran Laggan OP
(I could list more but I won't)
Of course I do listen to some video game soundtracks. I personally favor the Lunar 2 soundtrack (Lucia's Theme is the best song ever! Love It! Click Here to listen to it) Of course to go along with my Rock and Roll "attitude" and my love for video games, I happen to come across The Black Mages which is a Japanese rock band that composes Final Fantasy music led by Nobuo Uematsu (famous FF composer), that is what I call epic. Seeing two of my favorite things in the world into one. (plus who doesn't love One Winged Angel?)

QUOTE (X-M-O @ Sep 8 2010, 02:47 PM)
Hey guys, this topic has been created in order to prevent the flooding of topics called "Top 10 Songs" or "Songs I can't get out of my head" or "Best songs of the last century".
So for any of your music favourites, discussions, etc., please use this topic instead of creating a new topic. All other such topics will be merged into this one.
Further, we have a "What are you listening to?" topic and "YouTube Dump" topic in the Fun & Games forum for any other miscellaneous posts that don't belong in this topic. =]
Please do not simply post up YouTube videos of your favourite music, note that the topic is meant for discussion and that posting up your favourite music is fine but you need to add a little bit more to your post than just a link or YouTube video. You could be warned for such activity. For simple YouTube posts, please see the above link for the YouTube Dump topic. Thanks!
Just did some edits and corrections, wanted to make sure everyone (interested in posting about music) reads the first post of this topic.
Does anyone know any folk-rock/metal bands in english? Man I'm hooked with a band called "Wizard of Oz" which an spanish medieval/celtic-rock band. They Make use of flutes, violins and a many other musical instruments besides those used for Rock/Metal.
"The band are well known for the strong Celtic feel to their music strengthened through their constant usage of a violinist and flautist" - Wikipedia
It's said that music is an universal language, so I don't care if you know similar bands in any other language, I just love the medieval feeling of their songs. Here are some of my favorites for those wondering:
Here some instrumentals for those who don't like what they can't understand (Some might be covers): 1 <- Personal Fave 2 <- Same 3
So really guys, share if you know some because I'm really interested. Or if you're interested help me search xD

Anyone ever hear of a band called Astral Projection? I recently found them on youtube and have fallen for their sound. I'm a very big fan of the lounge/tech music, so I went searching and found them, among some others. Not sure if that type of music is even called 'lounge' though. Anyway, in particularly, this song is one of the best, I think.
I'm always looking for new music, especially music like tech or lounge. But I think my favorite type is spiritual music, mostly Powwow music or Native American chants/prayers. They are so peaceful and...well, spiritual! Even though I am learning Lakhota, I think my favorite NAIL music pieces come from the Navajo, or perhaps the Cherokee. Like Sacred Spirit - Yeha Noha, a truly touching song, or which I believe to be my favorite song ever, Sacred Spirit - Land Of Promise . There are truly no words that describe my love and fascination with these songs and types of music. Makes me feel whole, better; like I'm more connected with God -- very spiritual music does that.
Anyone else share an interest in this type of music? If so, I would love to see what you suggest or think. I'm always opening to more music!
@Zakerot: I am sorry, I do not know of any. I tend to listen to music like lounge, tech, romances, classics, baroque, chants and stuff like that.
Unless I'm blind, I can't actually see any recent topics like this. They're often quite fun so let's open another.
Reply with some of your favourite songs. They can be from any game, any console, any era. If you can, try to add a YouTube link to accompany your selection.
This song accompanies some intense moments in the penultimate scenes of the game and I would not have made a list without it. Truly one of my favourite games this generation, NieR had me in tears through so much of the game.
Again, a choice I wouldn't miss out. Prior to this scene, Klonoa witnesses his Grandpa's death at the hands of Joka, a minion of the evil Ghadius. A fantastic song to accompany the determination that Klonoa holds to defeat the coming boss. The only downside is that he's so easy, meaning the best part of the song is often missed out.
A tough choice, but ultimately I feel this song comes above all. Perhaps one of the best songs of the series, it comes in at just the right time in the final part of the game. For those who have played it, I'm sure you'll agree. I'd love to spoil the hell out of the reason why I selected it but I can only tell you to play it for yourself.
When most think of SotC's soundtrack this song is often forgotten about. At the beginning of the game we see an eagle flying inwards to Wander, the hero of the story, signalling the start of his journey. Through the ending credits the same eagle is seen flying away, closing the story and leaving the fate of those involved unknown. While it's a fantastic song, it's also quite chilling at the same time.
There's not much to say about this one. It's just one cool song, especially in the face off against Metal Sonic.
Those tracks are in no particular order yet they are just a small number of my favourites. If I had the time, I could easily make 100 choices. All of the NieR soundtrack would be in, for example, as well as Klonoa's.
