Note: This game is a sequel. It is recommended you play Ikode: The World of Infinity First. That game can be found here.

Introduction:
"The Planet of Ikode... This world was created when four of the five deities joined forces and destroyed the devil. This world was created with the intention that it would be a peaceful planet, and that it would not contain evil. However, evil found its way into the world, and its power was unmatched. Unmatched... except for one person. One person stood up to this evil, and gave his life to overcome it... ...but the evil wasn't completely rid from the world... and now our champion is dead..."

Storyline:
After the creation of Ikode, Areniss contacted Atrius, Hamemy, Tireon, and Matthias about a problem... an error in Ikode which happened without her knowledge. This error was a combination of all the powers of the deities, which never disappeared like they were supposed to. It was given the name the Supreme Dragon, because it sat atop the Supreme Tower which watched all of Ikode. One night, Atrius snuck away from his home in Melwor, and went to the Supreme Tower by himself and destroyed the Supreme Dragon. But in doing so, Atrius died. Fifteen years later, a new threat appears in Ikode, and Atrius's legacy falls on his only child, Alex.

Characters:
Alex: Age 14: Atrius and Hamemy's son and the main character. Alex becomes the target of a dark force much to his dismay. Luckily, he has inherited parents' strength and magic.
Elene: Age 14: Matthias's daughter and Alex's best friend. Like Matthias, Elene possesses powerful offensive magic.
Atrius: Age 32: (deceased) The slayer of the Supreme Dragon. He is dead, but not forgotten.
Hamemy: Age 45: The former wind deity and Atrius's wife. She has long lost the will to fight after Atrius died.
Tireon: Age 55: The oldest and strongest of Atrius's companions. He was the owner of the light deity, now he lives alone in the mountains in Leron where he works out daily.
Matthias: Age 48: The former fire deity. He spends most of his time drinking tea at home or at Hamemy's house with his wife and Elene.
Lerold: Age 140: Hamemy's "adopted father," and therefore Alex's grandfather. He originally died at the age of 125 when the Sacred Water was no longer strong enough to sustain his life, he was brought back to life by Areniss so he could see the new world. It was intended he would live for an additional year or two, but the breath of life he was given lasted much longer than was expected.

Gameplay:
This game is much more traditional than Ikode: TWOI. The game takes place in an actual world, with towns, forests, and dungeons that are all connected. The soul worlds no longer exist. Battles, menus, etc. are similar to Ikode: TWOI.

The story sounds a little confusing, but I like it. happy.gif

Seems like a solid effort at a game. One criticism I can make by looking at the screenshots is the facesets- although appropriate, being darkened out just makes them distracting, not enhancing of the game's visuals.

Maps look great, and it's always pleasurable to play a full game. Downloading.

*edit*
I've played the game a bit (an hour and a half), and I would give this game an 8/10. The dialogue does not come off as fantastic, the characters lack complex personality, there are a few gameplay glitches (like how when you use an item to "see" the enemy's HP, it totally heals them!), and the main character seems very lacking. He is the son of someone who was important, but is in no way important himself, and he is quite bland.
But that's the negative criticism. The maps are great, the battles are balanced, the database (items and skills and such) is custom, and the music choices are well-placed, though identifiable.

Good game, but not a perfect game. happy.gif
8/10.

From your review, it sounds like you never played the first game of the series. Is this true?

I believe you are referring to the small room with a sign that says "What is the symbol? Answer in all lowercase or all uppercase." Is that correct?

Puzzle:
There is a symbol on the ground made by stepping on particular hidden switches. You're supposed to figure out what symbol the switches make if they are all pressed.

Warning! Contains Solution
The symbol is : ♥ Answer as HEART or heart, no other combination of caps will work.

Zarro: I fixed my posts so now there is only one download link, and it is a working one with the most updated link.

Fanatik:
Do you have the teleport skill? If you do, teleport to alaro castle, that will get you back to where you need to go. Regardless, I will post an update fixing that room later.

EDIT: I fixed that room. Download the game again and just move your save over to the new one. It should work. If this does not work, let me know.

Fanatik:
Also, can you edit your most recent post so the text is in spoiler tags please? That one sentence spoils like all the plot twists in the game.

I have to say, you've actually done a good job keeping me interested from the get-go. It's a little bit of a rocky start, but I'll go down a short list of tidbits that could be improved:

1) I don't think the firstmost scene beginning a New Game against that sky background really needs to be there. I don't even remember off-handed what it says, so I wonder why the game doesn't just start with the dude walking towards the final boss dragon.

2) The flash-back transitions during this opening scene are a little jarred, and this is sort of nit-picky, but would certainly help: I'm assuming you're teleporting to another map for each flashback. Why not capture that scene as a picture, and overlay it transparently onto the character walking toward the enemy? You could make a separate map that loops vertically so the character can walk seemingly forever, and then play around with the flashback overlay a bit, such as making all but the last flashback appear off-center. (You'd have to, of course, have the character off-center in the picture itself so you aren't seeing the edges)

3) A run button. Please for the love of all that is holy. Or maybe there is one and I can't find it? I'm using arrows and Z-X-C finger placement; the Z key does nothing (to my knowledge), so it would be nice if it functioned like a run key.

4) Why are the yellow flowers around the first town solid? This, combined with (3), is really annoying.

5) This isn't entirely something that needs to be improved, but why are the status numbers so high? It feels kind of silly, and moreover jarring when, say, the protagonist mage girl has only 74 MP left, but can't cast her 75 MP spells. I mean... ugh. There's a large bracket of MP numbers between what is able to be cast and what is entirely useless. I feel like, in this case, it might be an interesting idea to code it so if you have MP, but less MP than the skill you want to use, it would take the remainder from your HP instead (or maybe double the remainder from your HP, to make it risky to use). Then I don't need to muck around with silly single-digit restrictions, especially early in the game.

Other than that, I feel like the majority of the game's flaws are a result of RPG Maker XP's sloppy presentation, and the strengths are mostly everything else.

Thank you for playing my game, and thank you for the feedback! smile.gif Have you finished the game yet, or are you still working on it?

As for your comments, i will respond to them in the same order that you posted them.

1. The sky beginning is essentially a recap of the first game, a reminder of where the first game left off and where it is being picked up from again. I realize it may be unnecessary, however I intend to keep SOMETHING before the scene with Atrius. Perhaps it needs to be more interesting. I'll see what I can do with it.

2. I like that idea a lot. I will keep it in mind and see if I am capable of doing it.

3. I agree with you 100%, and Ikode 3 has a run button, if you plan on continuing with the series smile.gif

4. I have no idea why, honestly, and it's never bothered me which is the only reason why I've never changed it. It is a very easy fix though.

5. I will also keep this in mind.

Now that the trilogy is completely finished, I eventually plan on doing a complete re-haul of the first two games to bring them up to date with the first one. I'm compiling a list of things that need to be fixed for this game and the first, and when I'm ready to make those updates, I will release new versions of the two games. (Run button is at the top of my list, don't worry smile.gif) For the most part, they are minor tweaks, so I would not suggest waiting for these updates if you are enjoying the game. All three games are completely playable from start to finish, and the storyline will most likely not be touched.
