The stars in the sky shine brightly night after night. And as we look up at them, we can't help but wonder what they are. Well, one unexpected evening, we got our answer, and it was beyond anything that we could have imagined.

Countless worlds littered the sky, filled with their own people and places, all of which existed without knowledge of each other. It was hard to really wrap my mind around it- but I knew it was true, somehow. And now, I have a new dream. That one day, I will go to those other worlds. I'll see all that I can, and I'll meet new people, make new friends, everywhere I go.

~ Excerpt from an unknown Diary

It's been a long time since I first looked up in the night sky and saw more than just lights. I decided back then that I wanted to visit the stars, to see all that the worlds had to offer. But it seems like I'm no closer to it now than I was back then. I've tried to think of some way to get to them, but to no avail. It seems like- even after all this time- I'm still just a kid sitting in the dark, grasping at stars. But no matter what happens, even if I spend my entire life in pursuit of my dream, I'll not lose heart. After all, heart seems to be the only thing I have nowadays...

~ Continuation of the unknown Diary - Pages in between are unreadable.

I suppose I haven’t been writing much lately, have I? There’s so much to tell, so I suppose I’ll start from the beginning…

I had nearly given up hope of ever fulfilling my dreams. It was night time, and I’d made my way down to the beach to stare up at the sky as I usually did. I’m not sure why I did it, night after night, but I did. In a way, it was comforting. After all, that was the closest that I’d ever gotten to the stars- and I was beginning to think that it was that it was the closest I ever would get. But then, something strange happened. A voice called out from behind me. “They’re beautiful aren’t they?” I turned to see who had spoken, and found myself staring at a young man with silver hair. He looked back at me and he smiled as he spoke on, “The stars I mean. You know, they say that all the stars in the sky are worlds. The light comes from the kindness in the hearts of people living there… And so, at night, we can see them all, shining out through the darkness in between each world.” The young man held his hand out to me, “My name is Vorin… Would you like to come with me, Elin?”

It was hard to think straight, every word he said seemed to echo with my heart. I took a step back, and in a shaking voice I asked, “How do you know my name?” The young man, Vorin, just shook his head. He was still smiling, and I was trying to consider what he’d said. I began to ask another question, but he cut me off. “Elin, no more questions. Don’t be afraid… Just follow your heart.” I stopped edging away when he spoke, and I looked into his eyes. A few seconds passed… And then I stepped forward and took his hand.

~ Elin’s Diary – Pages immediately before and after are illegible.

My name is Elin, and I had a dream, a long time ago. I wanted to visit new worlds, to meet people and see things I couldn’t imagine. So I suppose it’s fair to say that I got my wish. I’ve been to other worlds- many dozens of them. All of them were so beautiful, and they were all filled with unique people, many of whom I befriended. They were all so kind to me, even though they knew nothing of who I am or where I come from. And now the worlds are quiet… I went back to every single world, I laid my head against the cold ground, and I whispered my apologies. And no matter what anyone says or thinks, I meant it. I’m not heartless, even if it may seem that way. To the contrary, my heart is so heavy I fear it will tear itself from my chest. But I have already come so far down this path, I cannot stop now. No matter what happens. ... But does that mean that I'm truly devoted- or am I just so blind?

~ Elin's Diary - Near the end of the book.

The coming battle promises to be more ferocious than all those before it. So many have died already though, I found it hard to believe that things can get worse… Yet I know in my heart that they will. Were Vorin here with me, I know he would tell me to stay strong. But how can I, knowing what I must set out to do? Light isn’t supposed to exist without darkness- this much I know to be true. But why do I have to be the darkness when I was born to a world of light? My heart was full of light at one time, the warmth inside made from happy memories. Memories of my friends, who I grew up with. Friends who, over the last few years, I've fought. Friends who, over the course of so many battles, I've killed. And yet the light remains. How can it? How can I be worthy of the light when I feel so empty inside... When all I wanted was for me and Vorin to -

~ The writing here cuts off abruptly, the end of the page punctuated with several watermarks, possibly tears.

This is it. So many worlds now lay in darkness, so many lay dead on their cold, empty surfaces. I don’t know if this is all worth it- I’m not sure I could ever bring myself to believe that it had been. But there will be only one more battle. Just once more will I clash with those I love, those who once loved me. For this, if nothing else, I am grateful. Maybe I’ll finally be set free- though I wonder if I’ll be able to rest when all of this is over. I feel so cold, so hollow… I wonder if my heart will even be released in the end. To be honest, the only reason I know my heart exists now is because Starfall still comes to me when I call out.

It’s funny, I never thought about it before, but I supposed people will speak my name for a long while even after I’m gone. I heard a child talking earlier- normally I wouldn’t have eavesdropped, but I heard my name. As it turns out, he was telling his friends about me, of all people. I’m not sure why, but afterward, I started to cry. I guess that after all this time, I’m still just a child grasping for stars. … The child- he called me “Elin- the traitor of the Keyblade Wars”. And I couldn't bring myself to disagree with him.

________________________________________________________________________________

Yes, that's right. After all this time, I've decided to start up a roleplay. And go figure, I totally abandoned whatever other ideas I had in order to run a Kingdom Hearts game, of all things. I know it's rather sudden, but I decided I've held off long enough, and I've wanted to do this for years. Something to take note of is that no preestablished characters will be showing up. This is partly due to the fact that this story takes place way before Kingdom Hearts, and partly because I just don't want to.

Now then, if I want to run a game, I need rules and a character sheet template, right? Right. Let's go on and nail that down right now.

Notes & Rules

1) Read the Notes & Rules before even looking at the character sheet. Seriously. Things will make much, much more sense.

2) Notes and rules are mixed in together, because A, the few notes I have (such as this one) are just as important as the rules, and B, because I'm too lazy to make them each their own section.

3) You shall not. By any means. Godmod. Or you shall die. Simple as that.

4) I am the GM, what I say goes. Self-fulfilling rule, really. Disobey my word, and again, you die and the rest of us laugh.

5) I want effort. That means common sense, good grammar and spelling(FireFox/Google Chrome are your friends here).

6) Post in third person, past tense.

7) OOC belongs in the OOC thread. OOC posts in the game-thread will be deleted. Even if it's just a sentence tacked onto the end, move it here.

8) Rules can and will be added at any time.

Character Sheet:

Name: Be creative, but don't be fanciful. If you try to run with "Bob Smith" or "Teliaratasalikipta Toloriata" I'll laugh at you, have everyone else laugh at you, and then you'll change your name.

Age: Keep it between fifteen and eighteen. If you desperately need to go a year or two over, fine, but you'd better be able to explain why to me.

Sex:

Appearance: Give me everything from wardrobe to eye color to scars to whether they're an innie or an outie. Detail, detail, detail.

Personality: I should be able to picture your character as a real person, by the time I finish this section. If not, there's something wrong.

Family: All I really want here is a short list of any family members your character's close to, and maybe a sentence or some key phrases about them.

Significant Other: This matters. Love interest? Tell all. Better yet, tell more than all.

Hobbies: What does your character like to do?

Personal History: Know that I should feel like I've known your character their whole life after reading this.

Most Cherished Memory: Give me a bit of detail here. I want emotion. What's something that happened that they can remember vividly, that mattered to them? This may or may not turn out to be one of the most important sections here.

Home World: Tell me about where your character comes from- I want to feel like I'm walking in this place. Note that you should create your own world. If you wish to be from the same world as another player, talk it over with them. I don't mind, but they might.

Keyblade: There we go! The one section you've been waiting for, eh? Here's the good news: you can do whatever you want here (including making your own, either by drawing it or describing it), just let me lay down a few ground rules. First off: no Kingdom Key. That applies to both of them. Apart from that, avoid any Keyblades that are tied to a specific character- IE: Destiny's Embrace and Way to Dawn, which are uniquely possessed by Kairi and Riku respectively.

Miscellaneous Info: Is your character gay? Does he hate cherry soda so much that he'd rather drink his own urination? Is she allergic to cats? Give me stuff to work with, people!

~The Story~

It is sometime before the recorded events of Kingdom Hearts. Keyblade Wielders, chosen by the light, stand against the darkness no matter the form that it possesses. Across the sky, worlds have begun to fall silent, their people killed with their hearts removed. It seems that the forces of Darkness have begun to move- but under the noses of the Light's Defenders. No one knows how these attacks have occurred, no one truly knows why. But nothing of this magnitude has happened before, and the Keyblade Masters are anxious.

You- however, know nothing of this. You know nothing of other planets, of the wielders of light, of the tides of darkness. All things considered, you are just an average young man or woman, living as you should. However, lately, you've been having these strange feelings... Deep inside, in the depths of your heart, you can feel a tug. Who's to say what it means- probably nothing, maybe it's not even real. But it's real to you.

And now, a stranger has arrived in your town. They speak to no one, and for some reason, you seem to be the only person who's noticed them. Normally, you'd have thought that you were just imagining things, since you only ever see them out of the corner of your eye. But you can feel them watching you, sometimes. And then...
________________________________________________________________________________

Yep, that's really it guys. The game will begin with each of you on your home worlds. You're character has felt a strange sensation inside them, though it's hard to describe in words. There's more to it than that, but... Well, you'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

Sparrowsmith's curiosity has risen +10,000

Well, I'll almost definitely be signing up for this, but would it be possible to know what direction this is going in? Will we start on our home worlds? Are we all starting in the same place? Are we new to the keyblade or have we had them for a while?
What about wielding two keyblades?
What about not having no keyblade at all?

Can we be nobodies, heartless, etc (I'm guessing no, but it's worth asking. After all, Roxas was as real as Sora in some respects)
How will we be traveling between worlds?
Magic use?
How often will SE and Disney characters be showing up? Will any be showing up at all?

I'm guessing we kind of decide this, I just thought I'd ask. Might be worth talking this stuff through before starting, I like to at least know where the first two pages of the RP are going before I sign up...

Well, as for the story related queries... I'm writing that all out at the moment, and it'll be added to the bottom of the opening post (where is says, "To be finished tomorrow") as soon as I'm done, hopefully within a half hour. Now, for the rest of your questions...

What about wielding two Keyblades?

Keyblade Synch is a very, very rare ability. As a matter of fact, I'm fairly certain that only one person has ever been able to pull it off, and that was due to very unusual circumstances. That said, it can totally happen, it's just not likely. As it stands, maybe one person will gain the ability, if that.

... To summarize, probably not, but maybe.

What about not having no Keyblade at all?

I don't see why you wouldn't want a Keyblade, but no, it's important to the story that everyone has one. Of course, they could choose not to use it, though again, I see no reason to do so.

Can we be nobodies, heartless, etc (I'm guessing no, but it's worth asking. After all, Roxas was as real as Sora in some respects)

If I remember correctly, Nobodies have to be created alongside Heartless. And since Heartless only came into existence a few years before Kingdom Hearts I, Heartless won't exist in this setting. So no, I'm afraid not.

How will we be traveling between worlds?

Well, that's a hard one. At this point, I intend to create a new means of interplanetary travel. This is mostly because the two more common means, Gummi Ships and Corridors of Darkness, wouldn't be well suited to this. And the other obvious choice, Keyblade Gliders, would essentially take the form of another section in the character sheet, not to mention how hard it would be to keep track of a half dozen people flying around in space.

Magic use?

To summarize, yes. There will be magic, players will be able to use it.

How often will SE and Disney characters be showing up? Will any be showing up at all?

Like I said, I don't intend to use preestablished characters in this game.

________________________

Actually, in regards to dual wielding... If you can somehow obtain a second Keyblade, I'll allow it. However, you can only be chosen by a single Keyblade, so you would have to acquire someone else's in order to utilize Synch Blade.

I'm wondering what kind of worlds we can make our characters be from.
Since theres no pre-established characters allowed, I'm guessing we'll make our own home worlds?

Well answered, I'll check back here tomorrow and see if I'm definitely going to sign up.
In regards to the keyblade thing, the keyblade chooses you based on your heart and courage and stuff like that, but that doesn't mean it chooses people with good melee skills. So maybe there's someone who is badass with magic, but pretty poor with the keyblade?
Or someone who just prefers shooting fireballs than hitting people with keys.

Me? I love the key hitting, but if we'll all be partying up then we want some range in our skills.
Maybe some of us are built like tanks, maybe some of us are swift and get amazing combos, maybe some of us are tactical geniuses - able to mix magic and deceptive blows flawlessly, but we can't all be all of those things.

In any case, my interest is peaked. I shall start creating a character in the back of my head immediately.

That is correct. I actually meant to state as much in the sheet template, but I guess I slipped. That has now been corrected however. So feel free to make whatever kind of world you want.

You are correct, yes. It's likely that everyone will have their own specializations, and remember that Keyblades are versatile weapons. Most Keyblades, in fact, are just as good at channeling magic as they are at hitting things. Feel free to make your characters focus on whatever you wish.

And now, that said, character sheet templates are now finalized, and as such....

Recruitment is now Open!

Name: Krepus Culum

Age: 17

Sex: Male

Appearance:
Wearing a light grey jacket that used to have zip off sleeves, which have long since been lost, with tight black llong sleeve shirt underneath. His pants are fairly tight and are also black, but have been worn alot longer and have thus lost some color. He is always wearing his long white scarf that has a blue design stiched right near the end. His eye is a pale Violet, and his hair shimmers in a light pink. He is missing his right eye, and has a scar around it. He stands at six feet tall and is white in skin tone.

Personality: As a child Krepus was happy go lucky, and nothing could ever bring him down, after his mothers death, he started to become a little distant towards everyone around him, and always seemed lost in thought. He is an intellectual, who would rather talk then fight, and would rather listen then talk, but is very protective and will not hesitate to jump in to savewhat he cares for. He hides darkness deep within his heart though, he is bitter from what he has been through, and when pushed to far will lash out violently, only to stop later with little to no memory of it.

Family: His Only biological Family was his younger brother and mother, his mother had passed away when Krepus was only 12. His younger brother is 4 years younger then him, but ran away when Krepus was only 15. He is an Orphan and does consider many people, who have come and gone, as his family. He has problems remembering all of there names, but Recalls their faces. Phillip Dowe is man who runs the orphanage that he lives at.

Significant Other: Is currently lacking one.

Hobbies: Star Gazing, Swimming in the river, and playing the harp.

Personal History: Krepus was raised by his single mother with his younger brother, that is, intell his mother was in an accident and died, this accident would also cost Him his right eye, but due to the trauma to his head, he just wolk up in the hospital with no memory of what had happened. Only a few days after he awoke, he was called to his mothers bed with his brother when she passed away. After her death, and with no known family, they where sent to an orphanage, where they were raised by a verbally abusive man named Phillip. After he couldn't take any more of it, Krepus' younger brother seemingly ran away, which gave Phillip something to rub in Krepus' face. That was the biggest mistake he had ever made, as it led to him recieving a broken nose and fractured ribs. After said event, Phillip doesn't talk to Him much, other than mentioning that once highschool is over, he has to leave.

Most Cherished Memory: Recieving his Scarf from his mother and brother at his 12 birthday, and also the last words his mother spoke to him, "Free yourself from the cage of this world."

Home World: Glacial Mountains. A world filled with high rising mountains, with giant icecaps on top. The snow and ice on top of the mountains always seems to be the same, but it is clearly evident by the rivers and streams flowing down the mountain that it does melt. Most of the buildings, and homes are down near the base of the mountain, and right before the oceans that the water endlessly pours into. The temperature is always moderate, and the fresh water always clear as glass.

Keyblade: (Look in the "image" pic to see him holding it.) "Caged Moon" It is mostly black, but the Cressent moon, the gaurd and the keychain are silver, the connecting bar to the cresent and the diamond are gold.

Miscellaneous Info: Is missing his right eye, and to draw attention to his left eye, he wears makeup. His scarf is like a comfort blanket to him, and he never goes without it. His name, Krepus Culum, is based on the latin word Crepusculum, meaning Twilight (Dusk).

----------

I couldn't wait any longer, If you change anything that would influence the characters, I will come back to it and change it.

[Show/Hide] My Arcana

You are the World
Completion, Good Reward.

The World is the final card of the Major Arcana, and as such represents saturnian energies, time, and completion.

The World card pictures a dancer in a Yoni (sometimes made of laurel leaves). The Yoni symbolizes the great Mother, the cervix through which everything is born, and also the doorway to the next life after death. It is indicative of a complete circle. Everything is finally coming together, successfully and at last. You will get that Ph.D. you've been working for years to complete, graduate at long last, marry after a long engagement, or finish that huge project. This card is not for little ends, but for big ones, important ones, ones that come with well earned cheers and acknowledgements. Your hard work, knowledge, wisdom, patience, etc, will absolutely pay-off; you've done everything right.

The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

Yea, I know what you mean. But since they haven't been made yet, it wouldn't make much since for them to be walking around. Just saying though, the next game I run is going to be a sequel to this one, and it'll take place near the creation of the Heartless and, by extension, the Nobodies.

I have a Nobody I'm fond of so I'll probably join that one. Not too sure about this one just yet though.

Hm, actually...

Nobodies are created when someone's heart is taken away, and now that I think about it... Well, here's what I'll do. If someone wants to play a Nobody, I'll allow it. However, you cannot know that you're a Nobody when the story begins. This is for several, very good, very story related, reasons that I'm not going to explain due to spoilers. However, if you read the bit near the bottom, you'll see that the people from the lost worlds have had their hearts taken away. It's not by heartless, but if someone had a strong enough spirit, the act could create a Nobody.

Or no, it's not even that you couldn't know you were a Nobody. Well, I mean, you wouldn't know what a nobody was since the term wouldn't be created until later on, but I think you get my point. What it is, is that you wouldn't be able to remember being turned into a Nobody. This is, again, for a very important reason.

Sounds good, I'll check it out tomorrow, first thing in the morning. After having such a late night, and then having had to wake up so early this morning, I'm completely worn out. So I'm heading to bed early tonight.

I'm about halfway done. xD Up to Personal History but I had some work to do and I'm way too tired to finish right now. I will later today though.

I guess I'd be up for this. Although I certainly disagree with the "must have a keyblade" rule. There are plenty of fighters in the KH universe that fought without one. What's wrong with being the character that plays second bannana to the keyblade bearers?

Or at the very least, there should be a compromise and allow people to not have keyblades, but have them earn, or be chosen by them, as the story progresses.

Well, I had a nice, pretty reason wrote out, but I've decided to simplify it. The real reason why, is because this is a story about the Keyblade wielders and their struggle against the darkness in their hearts, and the universe around them- as well as the true understanding of balance.

But now, if it's going to just ruin the entire game for you if you've got to have a Keyblade... Maybe we can work something out.

People can still struggle with the darkness in their hearts without the keyblade. That was kind of the point with characters like The Beast, and Cloud back in KHII.

Of course, I'm fine with compromise. If you have a plot point in mind where a chosen keyblade weilder would never experience, than granting the keyblade over the course of the RP is an acceptable alternative. But I think having characters with no keyblades can also open up some new concepts.

For example we coould have the standard "I don't have a keyblade, I'm inferior," motive. Or have some group that dedicate there lives to serving Keyblade Wielders or something.

Well, after talking it over with my brother, I've decided to just let you do it Ryuga. It might take a little tweaking, but I think I can work a non Keyblade Wielder into the story.

Cool. Hope it won't be far too much trouble. I'll start a profile in a bit.
