Currently you all know the Game War of the Souls. Well its main battle system alot of you are use to, the Tactical Battle system.
I am tired of its bugs and broken-ness especially when it comes to events that take place after battles. It erases all on screen events when entering a battle, and doesn't put them back properly after a battle.

My question is simple:

Half way to 3/4 through a game its one thing to change the text system....Whats your thoughts on changing the battle system?

is it worth it if its a hell of a lot of work?

For alot of people, the battle system is what helps them in selecting a game. If you have a good battle system that they have gotten used to and then half way through the game it could be a turn off. I don't think its worth the time, your better of making one good battle system.

Imagine if you were playing a FPS. You go right, left, right, left. WALL! That is what is gonna happen to your game. If you switch up something so core to the game as it's battle system, then prepare for your audience to be very confused. If it's really what you want to do, then make sure you understand this and you work around it.

Thanks for the input. I did have change as it was a pain to do and the scripts are all now working nicely with each other.
I haven't hit any walls as of yet in terms of players. How ever you can go check it out, links in the sig. I would appreciate feed back.

He didn't say he was having the battle system change IN-GAME halfway through... he meant that he is fixing the game's battle system after experiencing too many bugs and passing the halfway mark to completion.

I recommend having only one battle system in the game that's primary, that way gamers know how to control battling and know what to expect. You could always have a secondary battle system.
I recommend playing Prophecy of the Demon Kingdom, one of the very best rpg maker games by Sagitar made in VX. He combines 2 battle systems for his game with one primary one and a secondary one which I think worked really well.
