Okay, so a couple nights ago I bought a game called 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors and just got what was probably the worst of the six possible endings a little bit ago, which sucks because like none of my questions were answered. lol Anyways, it's about 9 people who are kidnapped and forced to play a game called the Nonary game in which they have 9 hours to escape a ship before it sinks by finding the 9th door. The game itself is a puzzle game/visual novel in which you have sequences where you must "Seek Your Way Out", and then everything else is told in visual novel-style. Obviously the puzzles would be hard to incorporate into the RP but I'd like to try it out. The game's gonna require A LOT of planning on my part regardless, but even more if we go through with the puzzles. So I wanna see how many people would be interested before I put too much work into it. Ideally I would need 9 people, but I guess I could NPC any others that are missing, with myself playing the mastermind, Zero. So if you think this sounds cool, let me know. I'd really like to try this but I want at least 5 people so that the majority of the 9 will be PCs. Please let me know if you're interested in the game. I'll post more info if enough people are.

The Devil
Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession
The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.
You may want to poke Sparrowsmith with this. He's been planning an RP of his own and it will likely also have a lot of puzzle solving involved in it. I won't say anything else because i'm not sure if he'd mind or not...
But yeah, you may want to introduce your ideas to him, mixing up ideas from different people tends to have great results

noooooooooooo public knowledge Just kidding, it's cool. I was planning on making a thread soon anyway (just to gather attention) but I think a few cult mentionings would do better.
For the record, I've very interested in this. And also interested in helping to implement the puzzles (granted I'd have to play the game). Just keep it short and sweet, Section Seven launches in January

Section Seven...I've heard that before. lol Though I doubt we're thinking of the same thing.
Anyways, I could walk you through the puzzles I've solved so far. They're really complicated and awesome. lol I'd love to implement them if at all possible. And I'll definitely check out your thread when it's up.

Well let me know when/if you need help
And the thread will probably be up between now and the end of december, the RP starts in January, almost a year after it was first thought up Just to give you an idea of how long its been in the making.
There's only one problem, it doesn't have an ending. But I doubt anyone on this site has the meddle to make it to the end. I'll be impressed if they do.

Well I have a bit of an idea of what I want now. Assuming the two of you are interested, I need at least three more people to sign up. Ideally nine like I said, but I want at least the majority to be PC's. I'm gonna start drawing up a couple more plans but if three more people don't show up, I'm gonna have to drop them. Which would make me cry. So please sign up. xD

Huzzah. lol Well I'm not quite sure how much you'll learn about video games and anime from this other than that there are a lot of fucked up visual novels out there. lol Uminkeo/Higurashi no Naka Koro Ni, Saya no Uta, and this game all have some really gory scenes that they like to describe in excruciating detail. Depending on how this plays out, I may have to do the same. *evil laugh* This RP will be rated M and/or R just as an fyi. It will have strong language, blood, and violence, probably alcohol and drug references, and while no full on sex, if you guys for some reason feel the need to strike up a romantic relationship while trying to escape a sinking ship, feel free. lol It will also have complex puzzles. Not really complex, certainly a bit less than the actual game, but you will have to work your brain. Keeping a case file of puzzles and events is strongly recommended. More info will be added upon request and/or if more people join.

Damnit Satou! Showing me another text-based puzzle game that I will ultimately have to buy and be disappointed with!
But all this talk about puzzle based Role-playing. I smell a new age of roleplaying. It will definetly have my support, although I have no idea how one should integrate the puzzles.
Omnial will join you, as I am quite curious to see how this would play out.

oh dear, is that allowed? it sounds a little too AWESOME! XD
so based on that, I am assuming people are going to die? or npc's will die? or is there just random mutalated corpses on the boat?
and Honestly, I don't think in my rp-ing experiances, I have seen anyone / people make a strong relationship between characters (I havn't read WoA at all so if there is some in there *shrugs* ) Well, other then general "flirting" and "good friends" that is.

<Xamusel>: Stop using Omnial's name in vain... lol.
The World is the final card of the Major Arcana, and as such represents saturnian energies, time, and completion.
The World card pictures a dancer in a Yoni (sometimes made of laurel leaves). The Yoni symbolizes the great Mother, the cervix through which everything is born, and also the doorway to the next life after death. It is indicative of a complete circle. Everything is finally coming together, successfully and at last. You will get that Ph.D. you've been working for years to complete, graduate at long last, marry after a long engagement, or finish that huge project. This card is not for little ends, but for big ones, important ones, ones that come with well earned cheers and acknowledgements. Your hard work, knowledge, wisdom, patience, etc, will absolutely pay-off; you've done everything right.

Dude, you will not be disappointed. It's fucking intense. There are 6 ends and I got the bad end, I guess. lol It literally said BAD END. It sucked. Then I immediately started a new game and have been compiling a case file in a notebook. lol It's epic.

Basically, anything goes. And whether anyone dies or not is up to the players. Every game has winners, and losers. Let's just say it will be next to impossible for everyone to make it out alive.

Five people have stated interest in joining, including you, so that leaves four slots open. I have another friend who expressed interest and recently signed up for the forum so if she does, that leaves three open slots to be filled by other players until the time comes where I start it. Then that slot will be filled by NPCs played by me. This game is gonna rock RRR's foundations. A lot of work is going to go into it planning and preparation to make this game as enjoyable as possible for the players, any spectators that feel like watching the game, and of course, Zero. Well, as enjoyable as 9 people trying to escape certain death can be for them naturally. More details might be released but just know that it's gonna be awhile off before I start this. I just wanted to see how many people would be interested in a new type of game and a satisfactory number applied so that makes me happy. You'll know the game has started when you see me in your house wearing a gas mask at midnight before I knock you out with tear gas and kidnap you to participate.

I accidentally posted a topic of the same idea too. I'll get it deleted ASAP.
I'd be very interested in this RP, mostly since 999 was Game Of The Year for me, especially for the final puzzle (that was one intense sudoku). If required, I can help with modding and/or puzzle creating too, but only if that doesn't disqualify me as a player (I have a really cool idea for a puzzle).

As I said in the other topic, he's been missing for 11 days, so don't count on a snappy reply... He could come back any second, probably not for a few days though. Anyway, I know for a fact he's got a lot of planning done on this, so it should be worth the wait.

Yo, I'm still alive. Had to take a personal vacation. Anyways, I'm still working on the Nonary Game, rest assured. It's going to be a theatrical performance the likes of which RRR has never seen before. Please continue to look forward to it.
