Pokemon RP: The Spiral of Shadows, BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE THE VERY BEST. Options

Grey winced as he was placed onto the sretcher. Just being moved onto a different surface was enough to get his body to ache in pain. It took a few minutes as Nurse Joy, accompanied by Li, managed to get him to the meeting room. There, Grey saw a bunch of famiular faces. Hearth, Aya, Lloyd. and Howard was there too. There were a couple other folks he didn't recognize, but that wasn't so important.
"So..." Grey weezed before turning to Proffesor Krane. "What's going on here?"

[Nicsp]

(OOC: Sorry for the people who haven't posted yet, but i have to get this moving.)

Professor Krane looked at Grey and then shrugged. "Just a little meeting, nothing you need to worry about. Well, if no one else is going to-" Howard interrupted. "You know Professor, i think it'd be fair to offer the proposal to him as well, he didn't do bad on the tournament, himself. He didn't get on the top ten for about just one point." Professor Krane sighed. "If you say so...I think it would be best to keep it for once he's recovered though, no?"

Howard played with the machine he now carried around his arm. "So...Do we have any leads?" Professor Krane. "Before that, does anyone have any more questions?"

[Naridar]

"I do", Igor said, his eyes gleaming with a spark of greed, "once the pokemons are cleansed, what do you intend to do with them?"

[Nicsp]

Professor Krane scratched the back of his head. "Well...I'm guessing most of the Pokemon they've turned into shadow Pokemon are the ones that were stolen from my lab not too long ago. These Pokemon can accompany you until this little mission is done with, but after that i'll have to ask you to return them to me. And of course...There are likely other Pokemon among those which were stolen from trainers, since it's unlikely we'll ever find their real owners, i suppose you could keep those."

[Omnial]

"So, we beat up bad guys, steal back stolen pokemon, become heroes. Sounds easy enough." Lloyd spoke sarcasticly, "And we even get paid in pokemon! Is this even legal?" he started to laugh, "So did they leave a map to their hideout when they smashed your lab up? Cause that would be the only thing to make this even better then it is."

[Xamusel]

Hei shook his head in a bit of frustration. He highly believed that what they were about to do would be that easy. He would've voiced his thoughts, when his radio went on, signaling that Mao wanted to speak with him. He then re-excused himself and went to the doorway and went outside, then spoke in, saying, "Mao, I'm here. What is it this time?!"

"You're not going to believe it, but October escaped! He was going to be handed over to the police, when he broke out with his power!"

"WHAT?!"

"I'm not kidding! His star was shining in the middle of the day!! He whammed around the guard watching over him and ran out, but only when he had a chance of getting out anyway! When the police knew what happened, he had been out of the area for miles away!!"

Hei was growling in frustration from this... just great, he had to deal with October, and the man wouldn't hesitate to do what he needed to to kill Hei. He remembered the main part of him being a Contractor, and that was because of a massive experiment that was taking place in secret back in the Kanto Region, and it wasn't pretty. True, most of it was blacked out, but that was a psychological thing anyway.

So, with a massive sigh, Hei said, "I get the idea. I'm on the job of defeating October, no matter what it takes."

After that, he clicked off the radio and went back inside, to explain the situation... but first, he asked, "What all do you guys know on Arnold Kline?"

(OOC: I actually have permission to include Contractor power like this, so keep in mind that this is one of those things you have to be careful with, no matter what.)

Andrew was almost convinced thought a few questions and said to Professor Krane " So far I'm good with this professor, but what about transportation, shelter, and food assuming this will take more then a day? I mean are we all going our own ways or as a group? Another thing will you be accompanying us?"

Grey tried to make sense of the things everyone was saying. Apparently, they were to re-capture "shadow pokemon," whatever that was. He thought back to the men who captured his Pokemon. Could there be a connection?
"Hey Proffesor," began Grey as he attempted to sit up, but was forced down by Nurse Joy. "You wouldn't happen to be talking about some 'Cipher' group would you? If so, please allow me to join your cause. I have a personal reason why I need to take those guys down."

[Xamusel]

Hei thought back to what had happened at the stadium, then connected the dots together. He thought back to when he had infiltrated a crime base by working as the secretary of a man that was fascinated with the different types of Pokeball's out there.

Flashback:

Hei was walking to his boss's office when he saw that a portrait that was usually up on the wall next to the accounting office was down. Upon closer examination of the picture, he noticed something was off... no, the picture was the original, it's not that sort of crime, but there was a code on the frame. When he looked at where the picture was supposed to go, he noticed that it was a well-concealed door, hidden from sight by it's shape in the wall and the picture.

Noticing a keypad next to the door, he punched in the code that he saw, and was shocked by what he saw... it was just like him. There were more victims just like he was once a victim!!

Swiftly he knocked out a guard with his lightning-based power, and then proceeded to rescue the victims... but a click at the back of his head told him to stand still...

End Flashback:

Hei shook his head from that memory... he needed to be clear minded right now.

(OOC: Was that all right?)

(OOC: Yup. Sorry for the lack of posting-ness, christmas and all that stuff, but here you go.)

Professor Krane laughed. "Me? No no no. I just study Pokemon and play chess at my computer. I'm a really bad trainer, really." Krane then started walking around chuckling. "About the three other things, don't worry, i got it handled but i'll keep it a surprise for now." And then Krane turned to Grey. "Certainly, the more the merrier, we're missing a few from the original intended number of members, anyways. Just uh...Look, i don't know what kind of personal matters you're talking about...But the objective of this mission is saving Pokemon, not getting revenge. All right? And don't worry about your injuries, you'll have plenty time to recover once we've gotten to our "transportation"."

Professor Krane looked around the room and noticed his small portable computer was flashing, a large message image showing on it. (Moving things forward, sorry for the people who haven't posted yet.) Professor Krane walked over to the and quickly read the e-mail. "Looks like we just may be seeing it right now...Apparently, Officer Jenny and the rest of the police force got the Meowth to talk, they just had to offer him food. At any rate, Cipher's base is apparently in Eclo Canyon. Curious...If i'm not mistaken, this is also the place where the old Team Snag-Em used to keep their headquarters..."

Professor Krane then walked out of the room, signalling everyone to follow. "At any rate! Now that we know the location of their base we must move quickly before they realize their security might've been compromised." After walking for a few minutes, the group arrived at what seemed to be some sort of garage, although the overall darkness of the room prevented people from seeing anything quite clearly. "Now...Where's that power switch...Oh here we go."

Professor Krane turned down a power switch, causing the whole garage to lighten up. In the center of the garage stood a bus, shining with it's chromatic plating, filled with details in black rubber. The bus'es windows were pitch black from the outside and didn't bear not even a single scratch. The bus'es eight wheels also shined brightly, showing signs of heavy modification to be able to cross Orre's vast wastelands.

Professor Krane fixed his glasses in place. "A beauty isn't it? My team and I mostly use it for when we need field research, but it should provide for an efficient vehicle for your purpose. It has a storage for keeping food and other necessary supplies that can keep a group of twenty people supplied for a month. And, it also has twenty beds, although, i guess i should warn, it's pretty big inside, actually, but if it does actually get to twenty people it gets a bit...Cluttered." Professor Krane took out his glasses and started cleaning them with his shirt. "Fingerprint...Anyways, i've also taken the liberty of installing a smaller version of the purifier machine i've told you about in this bus, but...Due to the space and energy demands, it cannot purify Pokemon who are too large, and...Also...When you do try to use, you have to turn off EVERYTHING else or it might short circuit and have some...Problems."

Howard listened carefully, petting V on his arms. "What kind of problems...?" Professor Krane put his glasses back on again and coughed a bit as if trying to leave the answer a bit muttered. "Well...It might explode. But that's nothing you need to worry about as long as you, as i said, shut down everything else before activating it. Anyways! Good luck! See you soon!" Krane took out the bus'es keys and held them out. "So...Which of you is going to drive?"

[Ryuga]

Grey paniced, realizing that the crew planned to leave immediately.
"Darnit! I can't leave now!" he exclaimed as he attempted to get himself out of bed, only to have Nurse Joy intervene.
"What are you doing Mr. Richardson? You're in no condition to be getting up!"
Grey pushed her aside. "I just can't leave Sneasle out there!"
Despite his injuries Grey walked out the garage towards the outside. What little bedrest was enough to get him moving again, but with every step he could feel muscles scream out in pain. Regardless, Grey brushed off any attempts to stop him and kept going.

Grey was greeted by rain as he stepped out the doors. He didn't even bother to think of when the weather got so bad. Only one thing was on his mind, and that was to find Sneasle. That didn't prevent him from slipping in the mud and slide and fall down the hill. Nurse Joy would likely lecture him about any new injuries when he got back. Despite, being soaked in rain and mud after the fall, Grey trudged on.
Eventually, Grey found himself in the woods nearby. It seemed logical that a lost Pokemon would look for shelter in this weather. He frantically searched the thicket. But after some time, his wounds couldn't help but drag him down, and Grey sought shelter by a tree to rest.
As if by fate Grey found his former partner to the tree right next to him. Wasting no time, he made his way up to Sneasle, who immediately took notice and hissed in rage.
"Sneasle..." began Grey as he cautiously moved closer. "Let's get you back inside. You're not going to last long in the wild."
Sneasle showed no signs that it would flee, so Grey took the chance and grabbed Sneasle. His pokemon didn't take to kindly to the idea and responded by biting his arm. All Grey could do was grit his teeth and take the pain. When it became clear that he would not submit, Sneasle began blindly swiping at him with his claws. After taking a few scratches, Grey adjusted his grip, holding Sneasle like one would hold uncooperative cat, as to prevent Sneasle from causing further harm.

Sneasle continued to struggle, trying to break free from Grey's grip, but eventually gave up after looking into master's cold eyes. For some reason, Sneasle couldn't move past the idea that he was master's property. Looking into those eyes reminded him of that, and was enough to get him to give up.

Meanwhile the group back at the garage were busy sorting out who would drive. Proffessor Krane wanted to the group to leave ASAP. Someone had proposed to wait for Grey, but Krane was having none of that. Just as the team was ready to set out, however, Grey reappeared, carrying a Sneasle in his arms.
"Sorry about that," apologized Grey. "Just couldn't leave this fella out there."

[Naridar]

"I can drive this thing", Igor pointed to the steering wheel of the bus. "I've driven such a bus before. Is that okay with everyone?"

Yes, he did drive a bus just like this before. 6 years ago, when he escaped from Irasya..."The region of dreams"Igor laughed to himself ironically.

He and his parents moved there when he was 4.

For two years, everything was fine.
Then came the september revolution.
And then, ever since, the region's in turmoil.

The revolution had three heads:
Levan, "The Soldier", as he was called. He became the militaristic dictator of Irasya. However, many thought he was only a pawn to...
Professor Eberhardt Yung, called "The Puppeteer" by many people. He was a psychologist (minus -logist, as Igor said, "He's just psycho"). His experiments with society were bizarre and scary, and those who fell under his "untermensch" category often ended up in the hands of...
Mendele, the last part of the triumvirate, bearing the nickname "The Black Angel". He was also a scientist, an expert in genetics. His victims were performed lobotomy on, then they were interbred to discover the effect of their genes.
Glory. Truth. Triumph. Forever. These were their passwords, soon to be displayed on every building. The rich culture of Irasya soon fell into ruin, as the triumvirate ruled mercilessly using their genetically-enhanced subservients and pokemons.
It wasn't until 10 years later that anything happened to change that. When Igor was 16, Yung and Mendele developed a joint project: they would pair off all citizens above 15, and leave the resisting or pairless for Mendele's experiments. Levan tried to stop them, but he was overthrown and barely managed to escape.
Igor had a girlfriend named Irinushka, so he was supposed to be safe. However, a few days before Yung's deadline, Igor's parents were mysteriously murdered. The murderous weapon was found in Igor's room, so he was the prime suspect. Irinushka's investigation, however, pointed to Rydan, the nephew of Yung, who was jealous of Igor because of his relationship with Irinushka. Igor told Irinushka to marry Rydan, since it seemed impossible to prove himself innocent. He was found guilty and was sentenced to death. A week before his execution, however, a rebel commando assaulted the prison - led by none other than Levan himself. After helping him escape, Levan taught Igor the art of pokemon battling, hoping he could help him carry out his revenge on Yung and Mendele.

Igor stole a genetically enhanced pokemon, designated for being killed for being too dangerous, from a laboratory and assaulted Yung. It was his very first pokemon, a Mewtwo named Noma. Yung, however, using a device unknown to Igor, captured the Mewtwo and fled. Igor chased him, and stabbed him to death. The pokeball containing Mewtwo was nowhere to be found, however.

After the death of Yung, Igor fled Irasya. He worked out that it must have been Mendele who took the pokeball containing Noma.

It was not until very recently that Igor learned what device Yung used... a snag machine.
He might have been related to Cipher... along with Mendele.
This was the best lead he had.

Igor realized he's been absorbed into his thoughts again. He hoped the others didn't notice it.
"Anyway, if it's okay with you, I can drive the bus".
With that he fell silent and waited...

Hei spoke up for the first time, saying, "You know, I have a car of my own that I came in... I hope that I can follow along in the car. Besides, I don't think that bus has enough food for everyone if I am inside it without my own supply." To emphasize, his stomach started to growl... a thing that had occurred quite regularly since he was younger. Nothing would ever change that, not even his contract, which had ruined his life ever since he obtained it.

Off of the depressing subject, Hei said, "I better go get my food if I can't follow along in my car."

OOC: So is the RP as good as dead yet? It would be a shame to leave things as they are considering the progress we made.

OOC: At this point I think we just have to move on to the next plot point and see. Everyone's already established that they don't want to do something as boring as decide who drives. So skipping to Cipher headquarters and checking for activity might be the best bet before we officially declare this dead.

Krane shrugged. "The bus has a lot of food, don't worry. Like i said, me and my team normally use it for research, since we sometimes have to stay in the same location for several days while researching the bus has a full fridge and a small kitchen, just remember to open the upper hatch when you use the oven, though." Krane threw the key over to Igor, who had volunteered to drive the bus. "Careful now, i hope to get it back in one piece when this is all over."

After the whole team got on the bus, Krane opened the garage doors and the team drove off into the desert. After an averagely long ride the team arrived at the target location. It was alredy night time by then and the bus stopped behind a boulder, not too far from the supposed Cipher base. Howard quickly hopped off the bus, carrying a binoculars he found in one of the bus'es drawers. He set them on his eyes and spied at the base's entrance. "There...Doesn't seem to be anyone at the base, all the lights are off. But...There's two people standing in front of the gates, guards maybe?"

Like Howard said, the base, from a distance, seemed completely devoid of life, it seemed like some sort of facility, with exhaustion pipes that stood high amidst the buildings. The facility stood in the middle of a canyon, the landscape itself protecting and hiding the base, the only entrance to the base was covered by a massive concrete wall, with only a single entrance in view. Two men using black uniforms stood around the entrance, pokeballs strapped to their belts. Howard let out a short 'uhmm' and then commented. "Maybe we should try to find another way in. I mean, if this is really a criminal base rushing in through the front door doesn't really strike me as a good idea..." Despite saying that, Howard couldn't really think of any alternatives, he sighed.

(OOC: Well, that's good, we have a story back. I'll show everyone what a Contractor is supposed to do, soon, if you don't mind.)

Hei looked around, turned to the guards, and knew right then and there that they needed to be taken care of. Turning to Professor Krane, he said, "I'll be going out for a little bit. Don't worry about me." With that, he took off out the door, and rushed to where the guards were at.

Reaching into his right back pocket, he pulled out his long trench coat, the kind that had saved his live from bullets over and over again. He had done what he needed to do to ensure that put it on in a flash, and raced towards the guards, with his hand going into his shirt to pull out his mask, the mask of the Black Reaper. He readied his Pokeballs to keep the guards' Pokemon at bay, while he readied the reinforced copper wires at his belt to take out the guards, with his twin daggers ready to provide the sort of injury needed for torture purposes.

After reaching the guards, he heard the one on his left yell out, "Who the hell are you?!"

The second guard yelled out, "You better run back to the circus, you freak!!"

Hei looked out in a stoic manner, with no room for nonsense, and then reached for his pokeballs and called out, "GO! SAITO, CHIAKI, PAI!!"

As he called out his Pokemon, he noticed the dark aura of Shadow Pokemon being released from behind him. He released his Pokemon from three directions, Saito in front, Chiaki back-left, and Pai back-right.He surveyed the situation with a calculating eye, and noticed that he unintentionally chose the right Pokemon for the encounters... well, Saito was still a bit unaware of who he was supposed to fight, but still.

(OOC: How do you like this situation? I set it up for Hei to have a three way fight on his hands, and it better be a good time to show how good he is with his training regimes.)
