Then, if you are still working on it, and you are good, I may join you instead of starting my own.

Does this mean I can make a first "draft" of a couple non-explicit chapters? Say, the first few? Depending on how nasty the content is, I might tone it down a little bit. Like, it wouldn't be hardcore, uber-vulgar stuff. Also, I'd claim credit for the mapping and eventing and stuff, but the artistic stuff (Some sprites, faces, pictures, scenes) would all go to you, like a co-op thing. (I've taught rmvx at camps before, so I have 2-3 years of experience with it, too.)

Yay on post 100 and page 6!

If you want to, go for it. But I don't understand why you want to do this... I mean, I have shown some of the characters but I haven't published any chapter of this story yet, I was waiting for X-M-O to translate at least ten chapters... I don't understand how you can think that this story is interesting enough if the story itself is still unknown.

I don't understand why you want to do this...

Sorry, I think it was sort of a childish thought, like, I="I wanna be a part of this, it's so awesome! Maybe I should ask about a game!" But then I realized I might really be able to do it. Also, I guess I worded it a little badly. Here's what I SHOULD have said:

"Leon, this looks really good! were you planning on making a game for it? If so, I would be more than happy to offer my services (no pay) to you."
The way I said it last time made it sound like I was being.... N00bish.

QUOTE (leongon @ Jan 3 2011, 07:10 PM) *
I was waiting for X-M-O to translate at least ten chapters...

You were? Well, it IS your story. I had just assumed that you would release them as you went along, or that you would sent a few chapters to me for reference.... More N00bishness on my part, I guess.

QUOTE (leongon @ Jan 3 2011, 07:10 PM) *

Like I said in the above post, I was going to use the script for reference, but you ave your own plans for that.
I can tell many things about your story that make me like it more and more.
- The world explodes. (I like post-apocalyptic settings.)
-The story is sci-fi. (so is post-apoc., but you have spaceships and aliens, too.)
-The characters (other than Phil) are animalistic. (I'e always liked books like this, i.e. Redwall series.)
-The art has biased me towards it. (YOU ROCK AT ART!)
-You've released some characters. (They have good, matching profiles.)
-And sex isn't a bad thing, it's just been made a bad thing within our culture(s).

The only thing I have a problem with is that Ging and Kanuh are gay. There's nothing.... wrong with that, but as a Christian, a moralist, and a guy, I dislike openly sexual gayness. Nothing' I can't handle, though!

I understand now your thoughts.

About the sexuality of Ging and Kanuh, conflict is something that I want and need to add to my story to spice it. I'm christian too, I'm straight, I dislike lot of things that will happen in the story, but that's the drama about: conflict.

I have 13 chapters, that are not really long, but only in spanish. X-M-O already translated the first two, and when he does about ten I'll start publishing the story in both spanish and english versions... Then you can take it to your game if you want, but as I told before: I'm planning on making a game of this if the comic goes good enough.

And thank you, I'm glad some people like my drawings, that pay the effort.

Trembling arms... I can't work on the comic like this, but I still can draw some lesser stuff, like this animated flat coloured sketch.

I hate being like this, totally unable to draw like the usual. Well, if everything goes OK is only one more week...

Is that Liongon or Ging? I think it looks like Ging, even though the filename has Liongon in it. Either way, it's still very good!

I see, you're welcome. I was working on a sprite for Lelie recently, but I reopened the files, and they were corrupted. I saved them as .PNG's, so they got all pixely and stuff. I'm getting better at recolours, as I have a colour palette now, and am making progress on Lelie and Phil.

Thanks for the help and the pic and everything, really. The picture really helped, could I have a Phil in colour, too? I've finished the Lelie sprite other than her wings, but I'll send you the pic by PM.

Yo! I'm browsing my old files too see if I have something to show while I recover now that I finished the job that messed my hand's precision.

I found these:

The first one is a screenshot from a normal cut-scene from the game I was developing in the first months of 2010, the second is a comic-like cut-scene screenshot from the same game's crucial scenes, and the third is a screenshot from a simple opening animation made in flash for this same game, everything by me.

I dropped this game because everyone that offered to help quit without doing a single part of what they said they will do. This is something I'm getting used with actually tho, it also happened with the translation of my LH story: A dude offered to help and only translated the first chapter, then X-M-O offered to help too and at least did two chapters... he's the best one so far lol. People doesn't value their compromises in this days.

Whatever, that game was based on the world of warcraft but with a huge load of my own creativity. At that moment I didn't had a scanner, and less a drawing tablet, so everything was drawn in flash and edited in photoshop... with a very low performance talking about time for a single person game development making a non-RTP game.

After realising that counting on others will not work, I decided to drop it until I'm able to make it all by myself, and now that I have the tablet and trained my drawing and scripting I can do it all at good spedd and quality, but I'm not interested anymore in that project... Lelianthea's Heart is far more awesome to work on right now.

I know lot of artists doesn't like to look at their old works, but I like it. I like to see how I have changed, how I have improved, and those old artesies are my history... the past is what built our present.

PD: I should patent that last phrase, it sound smart lol.
PD2: What I'll draw next is Ging, a bit improved, basically by changing his hair to be different from the dude with the green scarf... I hope to reach his final look in this one. I'll give a try tomorrow.

I noticed that a while ago that I do not draw my characters doing "something"

I'll need a couple of days to recover my precision to be able to draw clean lines, for now I can do rough sketching... As I know this "style" is also loved by lot of people. The final look of Ging:

Those muscles doesn't grow alone, you know. HAHA

I kinda like both of them to be honest, they each have their own positives.
The rough one looks really nice, the only let down is the colouring is a bit careless and could still look rough if this was done carefully if you know what I mean.
That second one looks brilliant with the colours, are you using a line/curve/pen tool for these or is it all freehand? Thing about that one is that though there's nothing bad about it there's just some parts which should be softer shading wise (like on his arm). Only noticeable really when it's done in the cleaner style.

Is all freehand, I only use filters for the background lighting with gaussian blur, and some saturation adjustments in the end... beside of that, no other helps. The main difference between the first and the second version is that I drew the first with my arms still affected by the heavy work I was doing, the second was done recently when my arms were responding better.

Basically I was not uncareful at all in the first one, that was just the best I can do in the trembling state, and somewhat I like it because it resemble a "style" more than a quality limit by my physical tireness.

Thanks Holder, I didn't noticed I left that unsoft shading in the arm.

One of my two kitties that will appear in LH comic.

Somebody want to give him a name? I suck at it, none of my real pets have a name, and I'll need a name for them soon in the comic.

I also drew my own cellphone in the comic, but that's not interesting to show xD

I'm going to assume that RRR likes their gay furries rough. ;]
Just kidding. Or am I?
I prefer the rough one because it looks less like the usual anime crap that we are constantly barraged with these days.
