I'm not sure if this is THE best one out there, but I sure use it a lot.

It's really good, but you can always edit it on paint if they don't have something you wanted. oh, and edit it in paint anyway.
you need to change the background to some color that isn't in the sprite itself(with paint and it's love for neon colors, you will have no difficulty finding one:P), like orange or something like that. then when you import the sprite, right click the background color then left click and hit OK. The background should be transparent and sprites should work without a white box around them.
And since you're posting in the VX section of the forum, I'm assuming you use VX.

huh, that's odd, it usually works. Search 'rpg maker vx sprite maker' on youtube, it's the first one on the list. there are links to the site in the description. If THEY don't work, contact the video's owner(which I highly doubt will happen).

wow thats a long URL ... well i hope this one works then... and if not i could probably make one using the actual VX engine...
it'd take a while though

also if you make your sprite but dont like the colors and stuff you could recolour it... if you know how and if not send them my way with the prefered stuffz and ill se what i can do

The generator you guys posted is the famitsu chibi generator. Thats pretty much the only sprite generator there is.
