Awesome! I'll be able to put my Maya to the test! Importing textures and models is very useful, thanks for including it Legacy! :33
The requirements, for now, looks nice too. Granted I'm no PC guru, it seems fine. It should run no biggie on my ma's PC or mine when I finally get a graphics card xD
I have a question. Will this engine support many different video and audio file formats? For example, MKV is a really new format with multiple audio channels, high res video, and is also really small. AVI is very standard and filesizes vary. WMV is mostly for porn
OGG is the preferred audio format, but some people use MP3, MIDI, and etc for their games.

Video formats i can not say, as i havent really looked into that. However, most popular audio types will be supported as the engine uses Fmod for the sound system. which supports OGG, Mp3 and a wide range of other formats.

Just a side note. I read on your blog that you wonder if you make the project open source or closed source. Be certain to save some money in the latter case because a commercial FMOD license alone starts at $9000 ($3000 for casual licenses). Other middleware you might use can also not be free for commercial use. Most likely the engine won't make earn that much right off the bat so it's a good idea to have some sort of base capital. It's sad to say, but you need to spend money to make money.

Thanks Kread. I'm heading towards the open-source solution currently. Unless i manage to get commercial license's for the products i use. But i still feel a open-source project would be better.
At first I never used VLC player because I thought it was lame, but I noticed that most anime and many movies were being added to .mkv format, which VLC plays without a hitch (This was about 2 years ago), so I used VLC player. It was nice and all at first, and then I realized MKY had dual audio and dual subtitle capabilities, plus it generally has a small filesize. It's literally my favorite format now. I refuse to download .avi anime and I wait for an anime to be converted to .mkv before I'll watch it. If it were supported, this would make my day.
the one feature I would love from a game engine (although it probably is not possible) is the ability to create games for the mac and pc, as well as ios. I would also love a way to convert .exe files to .app files, changing pc games into mac games. It is probably a nut dream, but there was no restrictions on the post for what you'de like to see. I look forward to testing this new engine out.

No, i don't put restrictions on ideas, otherwise great ideas like this would never be said. It is a great idea, and the same for Android. so i'll look into what is required for programming for the ios and mac. Im not exactly promising anything at this stage. But it is a great idea. thank you for contributing.
Um.. Legacy hasn't posted since June 27th which is an exact month from this post depending on when anyone reads it. The engine is cool in all, but I think he's focusing on school and life atm.

Yeah, im sorry for the lack of updates, i've been focusing on things going on in my life, however i havent stopped work on the engine, and i have a promising update for you all.
I've been looking into giving the Enigma Engine support to build games that can be ported to your favourite Android phone.
I've been looking into the Android OS for my own personal reasons, because i have my own Android phone. (HTC Legend to be exact) and have been looking into designing games and app for it.
It recently came to my attention that the only engine/editor that has Android support (that i've heard of so far, correct me if i am wrong) is Unity3D, however, you need to buy Unity Pro ($1,500) and either Android standard package ($400) or Android Pro ($1,500) which i find is a ridiculous amount of money for the average indie developer.
So i will be looking further into the topic of developing games for Android and adding support into the engine to allow for a visual editor for easy to make Android games.
Hey Legacy, I'd be willing to drop a $50 contribution to this project if you like. I just moved into my own place a couple months back and I've saved up a bit of money. If you want, I can help you out financially with the engine, all I ask is that if you someday finish it, I get to use it too!
Okay cool, well just send me a PM about how you'd like the money (Idc if it's even through the mail or whatever because I don't expect to get anything immediate out of it) and I'll see what I can do
Nope, none that come to mind, Legacy. If you do it, you'll have a loot of support, but I'm not sure if I'd play with it yet (big if there, but only because I don't have access to an Android, anyway).
